Being honest, I brought the TICKR only out of loyalty to the Wahoo brand. It’s the third TICKR I’ve purchased and that is because they don’t last very long. They get through coin cell batteries very quickly eventually just stop working. To add insult to injury, a couple of days after buying the TICKR the new rechargeable version was launched. Wished I’d purchased that now.I have the Wahoo Tickr Fit which I use on my wahoo smart trainer. I’d recommend buying one of those instead - if you are loyal to the brand like me!

I just upgraded from the TICKR HR strap. The TRACKR is a great HR monitor, it connects immediately and appears to be very accurate. The strap, rather than the monitor, is a problem area. I'm not an overly large man at 5'11" and 180 lbs but the strap, loosened to its maximum, is very tight on me. The side buckle is also awkward as it requires me to clamp the buckle in front of me and then shimmy the strap around my torso until the the monitor is in the middle of my chest. I find it uncomfortable and a step down from TICKRS easier front clasp.

I am super impressed with this heart rate monitor. It works seamlessly. I have had monitors from many other companies that don’t pick up my heart rate very well. I had to use electric glide and so forth. Plus, I was going through 2032 batteries like crazy! This holds its charge, keeps my heart rate consistently. My only complaint is the strap it’s a bit where the clasp came together, so I used a strap from an old monitor. That would be my only suggestion. This is much better than the original trackr that I used to have. Well done Wahoo
I needed a replacement strap, and Wahoo tech support told me the strap they sell wasn't compatible with their older HRM (white with blue diagonal stripe). So I bought this with a discount. It works, but the strap also works fine with the older HRM - could have saved $10 and just bought the strap. Seems to take a while to hook up to my Zwift Companion app, and works most consistently when I wake it up with the Wahoo Fitness app first. Also, does this thing tell me when the battery is low? Or does it just fail erratically like older models? A low-battery indicator would be really great on all the battery-operated sensors.
It's only been a few weeks, but it's worked as expected. My concern- the strap is shorter than the older models, and the securing system is very very basic- it's just a one sided "hook"? I can see that bending and failing much sooner than it should. I'll hope for the best. Pro: I've not recharged it since I got it, Strava says: 8 rides-19:05 of ride time... I will recharge before a big event next week. Love it when it works, but the 2 other HR monitors I've used in the past 4 years both worked great for about 8-10 months. Then they would fail to connect until you were 10 minutes into your ride- I think it was a sensor issue- needing to be sweaty? (*trouble began usually after the first battery swap.) Hopeful this one last longer.
Love it! Back to using Wahoo after a short stint with another brand. I particularly love the responsiveness when tracking HR. The strap is awesome and the clasp is way more reliable than other comparable brands. Above all else, the ability to recharge is the best. Quick to recharge and boasts a long battery life. Overall, I'm very pleased with this heart rate monitor and would recommend it to anyone.
I am on my third iteration of the heart rate monitor; the previous 2 iterations - each time a revised model have not lasted beyond 2 years approximately, so I cannot recommend this revised model until the 2 year anniversary has passed! I have noted that with each revised model you introduce a revised strap, so although the previous units have failed I cannot reuse the strap. This is a flaw you need to address as I don't want to put on sweat damp straps from previous use. Please note - If this unit fails I will move over to a competitors heart rate monitor and strap.
It’s comfortable, the indicator lights are easy, and it connects a lot more promptly than my old wahoo tickr. If you have other wahoo products, I strongly recommend this monitor. It’s like staying in the Apple ecosystem, it just plain works. It connects to my wahoo bike computer and watch flawlessly. The battery life is a little disappointing, charging is really awesome. Training for a half ironman, you have to be conscious of where the battery is at daily. It has also dropped sooo many features from the Tickr I bought 8 years ago. No gps, no tap controls, shorter battery life, and less analytics for a okay price. It’s more of a $65 product in value. It does the basics very well but this isn’t revolutionary.
I previously used a Tickr to monitor my cycling workouts on my Kickr and Lifetime spin classes. After several years of faithful service it started showing erratic heart rates. Connectivity still worked great. Thus a Trakr became my new HRM. I looked around a bit before deciding on it. Connectivity and HR work great. I like the rechargeable feature, and the strap is very similar (same?) to my Garmin HRM I use in the water. I will have to revisit why I use the Garmin for triathlons and pool...
