I've owned and used just about every iteration of the Forerunner series and been very happy with them though aging eyes have required a bit of a change. I first tried a jump to an Epix model for the larger format and AMOLED screen which I had thought and read would've been a vast improvement over my 945. The feature set and AMOLED screen was great until I tried using outside in high sun. Could not see a thing without having the backlight on and sunglasses on. TBH even with backlight on it was a struggle, and there was no way to keep the backlight on reliably or to switch away from white text on black background. Ended up exchanging the Epix for the Fenix and I was back in business. No longer did I have problems in direct sunlight with sunglasses and now have vastly ... Feature set is great, the little flashlight more useful than you'd think, and screen size is so much bigger than what I had with the 945. I hope Garmin continues to produce models that do not use AMOLED screens as they are not for everyone!

I have a 6x pro that has served me quite well for 3 years. Decided to upgrade and think the 7 X Pro sapphire solar is worth the investment. The features all be it similar are more refined. The touch screen, flashlight, telemetry, map features, health data, solar power and the list goes on. I have only had it for one day and I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. Will be trying out the hiking, golf and fitness features soon.

I have used Garmin watches ever since the original Fenix came out years ago. Recently I had a 6x Sapphire that was a little under 3 years old (purchased new). That watch still had full battery capacity and ZERO scratches on the screen after many impacts. I was sad to finally sell it but was able to recover quickly with this fine watch. Between the touch screen, light, updated design, and enhanced software I am in heaven! I know this watch will last me for many years to come as a faithful companion.

I love my Fenix 7XPSS. I upgraded from the 7XSS and I feel it is a bit more accurate and it seems more polished to me. Not that the prior was bad. I have had the 5 and 6 XS as well and they keep getting better. The flashlight is pretty amazing as well. The wishes I have that would of given it a 5 are as follows. I wish it had ECG and I wish the 51 MM SS came with a colored button to break up all the black and give it some dimension. That orange button on the others makes it stand out. I also wish it came with the option for the silver bezel on the 51 MM without the body being white. I am a die hard Garmin fan and I look forward to the 8 and hope it has those features. The 7Pro is an amazing watch. If you are on the fence, I say GET IT, you will be happy!
Switched from an Apple Watch, which I had to charge every night, to this watch that I haven’t charged since I got 3 weeks ago. Out of the box it had 77% battery and still I haven’t had to charge it! I wear it for everything, workouts, golf, sleep, etc. it’s easy to use and works awesome with the connect app. This watch gives so much useful feedback and info. It is better than I expected and the built in flashlight is so much better than my phone light. Definitely recommend buying and honestly it is a great value at this price point.
I have owned every Fenix since Fenix 2 and am never disappointed when upgrading. The faster charging and chip set with new sensors have been great. Additional software upgrades really shine in this model. I am also pro MIP display and while the EPIX is beautiful I will take battery life all day everyday. I use this as my go to watch (Running, Biking, Rowing, Swimming) and while I also own an Apple Watch Ultra this is the one I use 24/7 and that other one sits on the charger unless I do some thing where carrying my phone is a no go. Thanks to the Fenix team, I went to college with one of you and am always happy to brag that I know somebody behind such a great product line. I can wait for sat/cell service to make it to the line up when the battery technology supports ... MoreI have owned every Fenix since Fenix 2 and am never disappointed when upgrading. Much Love, get outside and stop reading watch reviews!
I bought this a month ago, after my Fenix 6X Pro Sapphire died, due to the Activity Start/Stop button failing. So I am very familiar with the functionality of this watch, as it is very similar. The quality of the watch looks great, the screen is brighter so I it is easier to read, and now with the solar charging, I am getting a month per charge (much better than the 15 days I was getting with the fenix 6). The watch band does not seem to be as comfortable as the old watch, but that may just be in my head. The added flashlight feature is pretty neat, I have needed to use it a few times now.Overall I am very happy with the watch, now I just hope it lasts longer than 2 years, like the fenix 6 did.
Been using this watch for about a month and it is most excellent. Dependable. Really love the battery life. It's long enough where I can charge it when it is convenient and not because I have to. Having topo maps on my wrist are epically convenient. When I am peddling through streets looking for a better way to the park it really comes in handy. Even in zoos, need to find food or the bathroom? the watch has you covered. It blows away the galaxy watch. Love how customizable the data is. I would give 11 stars if I could.
Used a different brand to track my work outs and bike rides. Was turned to Garmin by my son and for the most part it works. Almost to much information for me but still good. If I could change two things one would be when riding a bike outdoors you should be able to track steps. Secondly the theory behind active calories and resting calories I am not sure I agree with that. On a 50 mile bike ride I am not sure when I ever "rest". Still i am happy with the watch and plan on using it going forward.
Big upgrade over my GShock HBD1000GPS; fast sync and accurateDisplay: easy to read and customizeBluetooth: good but sometimes disconnectsWristband: the one main weakness. While super comfortable- I don’t think the soft silicon band will be durable. Time will tell.Connect Software: good - some bugs here and there - still working to understand and figure out.
