I got my son to fit this replacement cartridge, as it's at the back of the cupboard under the sink. He complained about locking in place, but that's low-key moaning for him, so not too hard. It sits there and does the job of filtering the water - until I notice the difference and realised I should have replaced it sooner.

I don't know what to say to this. This is a built-in device; there is no alternative, so it either works as intended or not. Put simply, it does. It lasts as per the instructions. The water tastes better in this hard water area; and it dramatically reduces limescale in the kettle, since we fill the kettle with filtered water. It is quite an expensive way to obtain filtered water, but is both cheaper and much more convenient than filter jugs, in the long run, if you use filter jugs as intended.

Our tap water here on the edge of Dartmoor tastes horrible, it's over chlorinated. Complaining to South West Water has not improved it, all they do is refer me to their wonderful website which is full of "chlorinated water is good for us" bull****. In desperation I bought a Bita sink tap with Brita P1000 filter and now I can drink the tap water no problem, Brita even fitted it as part of the deal. It all costs under 200, less if you Google around. The filter cartridge lasts for about 3 months and is easy to change.

All though not an ideal water filter as expensive compared to some and as I have seriously hard water it barley lasts 3 months. But it's shortcomings are far out weighed by it's benefits which is simplicity of changing turn lever, tilt and remove, insert new, drop down, turn lever done no mess or water anywhere. I used it to replace a 3 x 10" filter system that was good with the first set of filters that came with it but the replacements didn't seem as good. Brita is a guarantee of quality so that means if the filter doesn't seem as good they will replace it (in theory). But having used a Brita filter jug for years I have experience that there is a consistent quality to their products.
Essential for replacing the one fitted to our kitchen tap filter system. Living in a hard water area means constant furring up of kettle, steamer and iron, not to mention unpleasant tap water fot drinking. Not with this filter. It removes the limescal and other minerals, meaning a lovely cup of tea, and nice drinking water straight from the tap. The kettle stays clear for several months, and the filter should be good fro 3 months of regular use. I wish it were a little cheaper or lasted slightly longer so only 4 stars awarded.
I have been using this filter for several years and am very satisfied with it. It saves having to keep a filter jug on the worktop or in the fridge and having to change the filter every month. The cartridge is a bit fiddly to change until you get the hang of it but, once you master the technique, it's easy from then onwards. The timer that comes with the Brita filter tap provides a useful reminder to change every six months. Robert Days accepts the used cartridges for recycling, which is a useful benefit of obtaining replacements from this store.
Having had a filter tap for many years, I am well aware of what some suppliers want to charge for the replacement cartridges. I like how my water, tea and coffee tastes as East Anglia has such hard water, my kettle also does not furrow up as much or as quickly while using filtered water. Therefore I see it as a reasonable cost to maintain the taste of filtered water, I even draw off a few litres for when I travel round the country for work, to use in my kettle. The delivery from this supplier was prompt, and item fully as described, I intend to be re-purchasing from them when my filter is ready for replacement. Thank You
We had to fiddle with it a bit to install the filter at first. This was the first time we replaced the filter since we bought the Brita filter tap. Green light did not come on instantly after filter was replaced but did eventually. Easy online purchase, quick notification and collection from shop.
I recently bought a replacement Brita P1000 filter and its fantastic. It’s easy to remove the old filter and re-fit the new one. We live in a hard water area we had great tasting cold water and hot drinks for over 6 months from one filter.The P1000 does not give the water a bitter taste unlike my old filter jug - just instant great tasting water. Brita also offer a recycling service for their filters.I haven’t bought any bottled water or kettle descaler since the fitting of the Brita tap :-)
we changed our filter, which was supplied via e-bay. remember to fully open tap/locking device pull sharply downward( keep you fingers out of the way , it hurts when you trap your little finger between filter and shelf!) Fully lock tap, and reset warning light by pressing button on top of electric connector. Our warning light was still flashing even after I changed filter, because we had not reset it!
