Don't let the other people in this comment section fool you! The amount of speed that I have been getting with the 2tb model is up to specifications and is way faster compared to a standard 7200 RPM HDD.

This is a very slow Gen 2 SSD. The spec sheet on WD.com says it's 3200 read and 2900 write but it's actually 2400 MB/S read and 900 MB/S write. The latter is stated on one web page and the faster speed is stated on the spec sheet. You can buy a faster 2TB Gen 3 SSD for $20 more at Micro Center or at Amazon under the label Inland Platinum. Due to misleading advertising I sent mine back for a refund.

I usually stay away from green because it's usually not that much more to purchase blue, but I think at the time it was a big enough difference to justify. I paired it with an Intel J4125, so benchmarks will be meaningless, but they were faster than SATA and well under the advertised speeds. I didn't check it in a more capable system, however, it did make the mini-pc powered by the J4125 snappy and responsive. They are built to a cost, but also built well. If you owned a Samsung, WD Black, or other premium NVME, you'll notice the difference in build quality. Also, the sticker doesn't cover the chips, for anyone that want's to put a heatsink on. I was able to use two Raspberry Pi heatsinks on the only two chips it has (480 GB model). I also do recommend price shopping, and checking things like length of warranty (because sometimes there is no price difference between devices with similar specifications).
Don't let other comments here bout speed not being as advertised sway your decision. Just because the reviewer didn't achieve those speeds doesn't mean the listed speeds are incorrect. It just means their system isn't capable of those speeds or isn't configured properly. It all depends on your system chipset and settings. Quite a few variables to say the least. For me, I just popped it in and formatted it and I'm getting 3240MB/s read & 2560MB/s write. Tested with crystaldiskmark using 1GB file size. It's not as fast as the newest gen 4's but it's the quarter of the price. You must have a new new system with pcie gen 4 in order to get faster. If you do have new system see if it's pcie gen 4 and if so, and want faster check out western digitals gen 4 drives. My operating system drive is a 1TB WD Black with the WD heat sync and RGB lighting. My speeds on that one are 7026/5141 Which is more than double the speed of my storage WD green. Honestly either drive is a thousand percent better than traditional spinning hard drives which range from 50-200MB/s read & write. 50-75 is the norm with 200 being the absolute perfect setup with the best drives available. Don't think twice, buy WD SSD's and you won't go wrong.
Performs amazing! Exactly as advised. Shipping took a tad longer than expected but I got it no issues!
started lock up after just 30 days, hours of troubleshooting and tested in multiple PCsNow waiting for the RA shipment
Running smoothly and it is great thus far. Best bang for your buck
The Hardrives are nice and work very well, the issue I have is that it took 2 weeks to get them. It was 10 days after the date on the Pick Ticket. In this day and age how can it take 10 days from picking an item to actually receive it? I would have a really good reason to use WD's web site to order anything else in the future.
For less than $80 the WD Green nvme was a great deal. I'm getting the full read speed around 3100+ Mbps. Moving files around a Gb or two, it doesn't even let the file transfer window show up, it's going too fast lolI noticed a decent difference in load times in games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk over my 7200rpm drive. A couple seconds faster to enter the game and no wait for the texture and shadows to load. So for the most part the drive passes my tests. As long as the drive has a decent lifespan I'll say this was a wonderful purchase!
