I bought this drive to replace a competitors failed product, it is a bit bigger, and that is the only complaint i have about it. The drive itself is quick and quiet and has a massive amount of space for torrents and other downloads. I will definitely buy another in the future as price per gigabyte ratio is great.

Disappointed that I Could not get special software & drivers to download/open but works fine to keep a backup using windows explorer. Slightly larger than I expected, but should have guessed such a huge storage capacity would take up more space than my previous much smaller hard drive.
This is the 4th MyBook we've bought and so far they have been excellent. Very quiet and fast enough for the back ups they are being used for. The 6Tb seems to be the best value in the UK for some reason, would have preferred an 8Tb but it was much more expesive. Would recommend.
With it's reliability and fast transfer rates it's a really great thing to have around. I have it hooked up to a network for my family to use and we haven't come close to filling a quarter of it yet. I use it for storing all my video productions, TV shows. movies, pictures and music. With it's security software I don't have to worry about tHiEFs breaking into it and stealing all my work and personal stuff. However, I tried disconnecting it from my computer to throw some files onto my laptop and it didn't work only because I had to end a .dll task that was preventing the drive from safely being removed. It wasn't any problem in the end because a quick restart just helped it to function back to normal.
Pros: I am afraid I cannot offer any good points regarding this item. Cons: I had extreme problems in trying to set this unit up. I thought I sorted it, but I still have problems. Having an instruction manual of so many pages only goes to indicate the complexity of the unit. I wish that I had purchased this unit
Just a bit surprised to find that there is no indication that the device is plugged-in and working, and of course it's a plug-in too - since it will never be connected permanently an on-off switch of some sort, solid state if necesssary, would be a solid and cheap improvement. And not even a piece of paper explaining anything; I appreciate you just plug it in and off it goes, but the lack of an LED "On" indicator could have been explained if there had been a leaflet with it. So - I have bought a 2P2T inline switch and found some LED's to tell me when it's on (most likely when I have forgotten to unplug it when I shut down). I now have a very nice 4TB HD at a good price, but ...
Purchased this external hard drive to expand storage capabilities on an Xbox One. Plugged the drive in to one of the three Xbox USB 3.0 ports, followed the prompt to format the drive to store game data, and was ready to go. It was easy to move existing game data from the internal drive to the external drive. Note: You will need space on your power strip or electrical outlet to plug in the power adapter. If you are using this drive with the Xbox One and use a lot of accessories that also need USB ports, you may want to buy a 4-port USB hub. I wasn't thinking about that when I bought this and had to pick one up later.
i bought this item purly to have a huge external hdd for the ps4 pro as i did have a 5tb portable i felt that 8tb would be better off for me due to all the games i purchase. was real easy to setup and start using it and have tested some games on it that works perfect as if it was the internal hard drive. the cable compare to others is a decent length and the power cord is also a good length as well. slight downfall to it which isnt a big issue is sometimes you can hear it loading which you can hear but it isnt that loud to annoy you.
