Weber Briquettes (4kg)

(1,096 reviews)

Manufactured in Europe from untreated waste wood, the briquette is FSC certified as environmentally responsible. Once the carbonised waste wood has been pressed into a tight briquette pillow it's bound using natural materials. No toxic chemicals are used which could taint your food with acrid smoke. The unique pillow shape design has two grooves running across the surface which allows for optimal airflow around the fuel. This enables the briquette to be lit evenly and faster. With new style Weber briquettes you'll be ready to cook in just 20 minutes. Precision manufacturing ensures that every briquette is the same size. The uniformity allows for even distribution of heat for consistency and controlled cooking. The new larger optimal shape means you will need less fuel to bbq, meaning much better value for money. Consistent heat for up to three hours. Resealable bag.

I tried these briquettes having bought a number of other accessories for the bar-b-que. Compared to others I've used in the past on an older BBQ, they do seem to be better at catching and if used with a chimney starter, you're ready to cook in 20 minutes. Maybe a little pricey compared to other makes but perhaps the price reflects their quality and effectiveness.

Easy lighting. Normally use in my Smokey Mountain where with the Minion method I can easily get a 10 hour cook time out of these. Clean burning, no chemical taste. Work well in normal bbq too - ** hot so use the vents to cool them off a little. Love them. Now my go to brand.

Far superior to any charcoal briquettes currently on the irish market.Cheaper in the long run as I can extinguish these using the vent when finished cooking and just add a few fresh briquettes, maybe 8 to 10 and cook away the next time for a couple of more hours.Better than the lumpwood as it does not create any floating ash when you open the lid on a breezy day. It also ships better than the lumpwood bags that pierce the packaging-of which I am still waiting for replacment of damaged order for over 2 months -and spill in the shipping packages. Some people say the lumpwood is better for the quick cookout but as you can extinguish these briquettes and reuse them which is not very viable with the lumpwood and they leave a better charcoal cooked taste on the food.Great ... MoreFar superior to any charcoal briquettes currently on the irish market.Cheaper in the long run as I can extinguish these using the vent when finished cooking and just add a few fresh briquettes, maybe 8 to 10 and cook away the next time for a couple of more hours.Better than the lumpwood as it does not create any floating ash when you open the lid on a breezy day. Excellent product
26 May 2022

I’ve been using the Weber charcoal for the last 3 to 4 years. Yes a bag costs more but these do make a difference. I find that once they turn white with heat they last quite a long time. Using about 10 coals on top of the usual layered fire-making method, on my little 30cm round barbecue I can cook a pack of sausages, a large pack of bacon & a small pack of chicken thighs. Enough to last me several days. Afterwards I put on a couple of small logs and once they’re going I double wrap some prickled spuds and cook those between the coals and burning wood. Like I say these coals last a long time!

Way better than cheaper stuff. Only thing better is kameeldoring wood. ANYONE who doesnt get a brilliant result with these cant braai and should stick to cooking the veggie burgers on gas.

High quality briquettes, enabling excellent bbqing, especially when following menus we learned on the Weber bbq courses. Can reuse as well, if closing down the bbq after cooking. Would buy nothing else. Cheap substitutes a waste of time if cooking real meals.

Overpriced
21 May 2019

Great coals but these are massively overpriced. You can buy 8kg for 12 pounds on any decent BBQ stockists. 4kg should be 7 pound max. My recommendation: Heat Beads. Best Briquettes out there. Weber are a decent alternative but not at this price.

I have used these briquettes for many years now. They are of consistent good quality. They burn for ages.

Weber® Briquettes, 4kg Bag

Been using these for a while now and generally won't buy any other brand/type of charcoal. It lights easily (using a Weber chimney starter) and really does last a long time. There is also absolutely NO smell from this when it's burning. As recommended by Weber, I just close all the vents when I've finished cooking and the charcoal eventually 'goes out' and you can salvage it for the next BBQ!

Weber® Briquettes, 4kg Bag

Great briquettes. I tend to only use briquettes. Normally I just buy cheap ones from the supermarket and did not think much of it. However now using these I have noticed a big difference. They burn longer, do not give off a chemical smell and if you shut your bbq down you can reuse them for the next bbq. I don’t think I will go back to the cheap ones.
