Some accessories are pricey and since COVID this BBQ has gone up in price. I'd definitely will buy another once mine passes its used by date.

The cooking and cleaning on the Weber Family Q (Q3100) is great. So far had a great result every time. Heats up quickly and easy to control temperatures. Cleaning is easy. I'm still expanding my cooking skills but so far I have cooked steaks, sausages of varying types, lamb and pork chops, mushrooms and potato's and have come up great every time. The reason I haven't given it 5 stars are 1. The price could be a bit friendlier. 2. The wire shelf on the bottom of the trolley is a bit low and has a wire that hangs down below that will catch on door sills or similar if you are moving it around. It is a heavy unit and if you have to move it around often it can be a bit challenging. If it is just sitting on your patio or balcony than it's not a problem. Even though the trolley is essentially plastic if assembled properly it is quite solid but it doesn't feel like it was meant to be moved around very often. 3. The little utensil hooks at the front can be a bit low depending on your height and be aware not all utensil's will fit.Best answer I can give is, If I had a second chance would I buy it again The answer is yes. You pay a premium for the Weber name but so far it has lived up to the Weber tradition.

We purchased this to have on our second story balcony so needed something small and reasonably portable. This bbq is overpriced for what it is and our cheap bbq from Bunnings did the same job. You can only change the heat for the inside ring burner or outside ring burner you cannot change the left and right side independently. The first time we used it the plastic around the screw attaching the lid handle melted (we didnt have it exposed to the flame. Over all underwhelming.

They're not wrong when they say the "Weber effect"; the distinct BBQ flavour of mallard reaction on meat and fat smoking off the grill. I love it. Everything comes out tasting better, even veggies. Upgraded with the hot plate and roasting rack too. It's portable, easy to clean and in red, great to look at. The cover accessory keeps the rain off fairly well. Grills show no signs of rusting despite being exposed to rain. In a nutshell, it's a great BBQ to have. Wouldn't recommend it for much indirect cooking other than on the roasting rack.
Well made and fuel efficient barbecue. Gas bottle lasts for ages. The controls are easy to use and provide good control of the cooking temperature. Can be used as a hot plate or as an oven — e.g. for roasts. This model doesn’t have a thermometer in the lid and has push button piezoelectric lighter (which works fine) rather than battery lighter. It’s built to last, with stainless steel burners and good quality hot plates, whereas cheaper models tend to rust — and get through the gas much more quickly.
Purchased our family Q 4 months ago and have used it, on average, about 3 times per week. It is w hole new style of bbq cooking that I have been used to and I still have the L plates on. It cooks so much quicker than the old style gas bbqs and it is very easy to over cook something. When you get the timing right it does cook very nicely indeed but I find it necessary to keep the timer handy when cooking anything. I find it easy clean and it's overall functionality is great. It is relatively small and unobtrusive compared to the other type of gas bbqs. However, I have one major criticism - it is far from easy to maneuver, it is heavy and having only 2 wheels means that it must be lifted from the "non wheeled" end. It is relatively small and unobtrusive compared to the other type of gas bbqs. However, I have one major criticism - it is far from easy to maneuver, it is heavy and having only 2 wheels means that it must be lifted from the "non wheeled" end. This is not only heavy but the cross brace at the bottom of the bbq on the non wheeled end has a sharp edge which can cut into your ankles. This is made worse because of the very short distance between where your feet are and the sharp cross brace. I can move it only half a metre at a time before I have to put it down and start again. I would strongly suggest that Weber look at a redesign to incorporate 4 wheels instead of 2.
Bought this model to replace my worn out Weber Premium Q3200. The Q3100 has most of the features of the Q3200. The build quality is still very good. Same grill set-up and same great cooking experience but you lose the thermometer and the electronic ignition is replaced with a piezo ignition. The piezo works fine and the Weber starts every time but for some the thermometer could be a deal breaker (hence 4 out 5 rating). Though for me the 15% discount was a reasonable trade for the thermometer.
The Weber itself needs no introduction as it’s a very good thing - excellent in fact! I had to revisit the BCF store to get a suitable gas hose as the new Lee Weber Q comes a new type of fitting. This information wasn’t on the BCF webpage or the Weber box but only listed a loose bit of paper inside the box itself. Thankfully BCF exchanged it at no cost. I then found out the BCF store inventory listing isn’t very accurate. Online listing showed closest available stock at Port Adelaide (40 min away) but when I went to a closer store (5 min away) for the gas hose they had at least 12 Family Q’s in stock not showing online. A first world problem, but worth ringing around to check stock levels, don’t just trust the online listing.
This has been a fantastic addition to our family! No more over cooked steaks , perfect juicy chicken with a great Smokey flavour all without heating up my kitchen. Potato Bake is a must try too delicious !! We use this at least three times a week to cook on with easy clean up a bonus . Definitely worth the money and just sorry I didnt buy sooner. Now we are busy buying all the accessories. Dont think twice about this purchase, its a great investment.
Love my Family Q! It ticks all the boxes, and is easy to use. It heats up fast and temperature control is a breeze with an accurate thermometer in the lid and gas control knobs that actually have adjustment. Gas lasts an unbelievably long time compared to my last two BBQ’s, even when used for hours while roasting or multiple pizzas. I recommend grabbing the 1/2 hot plate as well which makes it even more versatile. This design makes cleaning easy with minimal build up inside as most waste ends up in the removable drip pan. I love it so much I will be buying another for camping!!
