Our nine-year-old bulldog puppy has been eating this food for over six years. Our vet suggested it to help her lose a few pounds, and it worked. I have 2 rescue mixed breed pups....who I'd give my life for. So obviously when it comes to what they eat and their health I'm nothing short of an expert after 5 years with them. My Sophie has so many sensitivities and allergies...and her side effects can be just horrific sometimes...she is also a doxy mix so managing her weight for proper spine health is a huge concern. My Emmie on the other hand has always done fine with any food or treat and her weight has never been an issue. But like I said...I'm a very picky fur momma...and I'm also a nurse...so understanding proper nutrition even for my dogs is a natural function of my brain and the highest priority. I've recommend this brand to I'm sure over 100 people personally in the last 4 years and every single one of those people exclusively now use wellness core brand kibble. I can't say enough good stuff about this brand. It's worth every penny...your dog is no different than your human child in my opinion so they deserve nothing shy of the best...and this is the best by a landslide.

Core Reduced Fat
2 April 2017

We started with Wellness Small breed and later switched out to the Core Reduced Fat. Our Yorkie Mix has been for a couple years now. It helps with his itchy skin and the reduced fat recipe also helps manage his weight now that he is having joint issues. I wanted to make a comment in reference to the person who stated it is too dusy. I know what she is talking about. The food tends to crumble in the bottom of the bag so that when you get down to the last 1/4 or so of the bag there is a lot of food particles that we found can get stuck in the roof of the dog's mouth like a paste if he tries to eat it. That is a real issue. I now have to sift the dust crumbles out of the remaining food when we get down to that part so that my dog can eat it without having paste stuck ... MoreWe started with Wellness Small breed and later switched out to the Core Reduced Fat. I attribute this to the kibble being not as hard as other kibbles and more easy to break/chew. Considering this food does not come in a smaller kibble formula for smaller dogs, I don't know what the alternative would be. It took our dog a bit to get used to chewing the larger kibble when we switched off the small dog formula wellness.

Diabetic collie
17 November 2021

My collie was diagnosed with diabetes four years ago after a rough 6-12months trying to get her regulated and trying several different brands of food we tried wellness reduced fat and haven’t looked back we managed to regulate her shortly after and she’s been doing great on it we also switched our malamute to it as well and he also had dietary issues with a sensitive stomach and would turn his nose upto different brands they both eat this without fail and both have great coats and health out groomer even commented on our malamutes poo how healthy it was! Sorry TMI!!! Mysti pictured is now 13.5 years and still doing well her sight did go shortly after diagnosis but she has full vision and nice bright eyes again!

Fat dog hates it . But it's good food .
8 September 2022

My dog hates it . But it's a great dog food . Tagg my border collie/blueheeler is fat . He will eat anything and everything but won't eat this tried fat dog from another he hated that more . I'm guessing if he gets hungry enough he will eat it . He gain weight from eating smart one . Over the years I thought I was doing the right thing come to realize it gave him skin problems and weight . He has only been given 2 cups . I have been given this with 2 cups and cup of green beans adding water to help him feel full quicker .

Great dog food, but too powdery.
29 November 2022

My dogs like the food and benefit from it. However, the loose powder is overwhelming for my Boston Terriers. They cough and choke on the powder. I mix it with water but it makes it soupy and give them loose stools. It's not just the bottom of the bag portions, it's throughout the bag. I suggested rice bran or flaxseed oil to their ingredients ts to help bind it together. Their response was they don't use artificial binding material such as corn, soy, or wheat flour. I never suggested any flour. This has been a common complaint among some of the reviews I have read. Unfortunately, I dont know if I will continue feeding this food.

High Fiber, High Protein
26 July 2021

Our pup is not on this for weight management, but because he needs a high-fiber diet to maintain firm stools. This was the simple fix after months of vet visits, and eliminating various causes for his digestive issues. We needed a kibble in the 8-10% fiber range, and liked how this one had a higher protein content to support our pup's activity level. He gobbles it up and responds really well. Maintains his weight, coat looks amazing, finally consistent stools. Really amazing, high quality product. Highly recommended for sensitive stomach pups.

Low fat and ocean mix

I love this foods ingredients and lack of crap fillers luckily my dogs love it too.It arrives quickly maybe 4 or 5 days and I live rural. It’s a bit stinky but it even looks healthier than other dog foods. They both currently get a mix of low fat and the ocean mix but I’m also about to add the senior to their mix for extra joint health. One is old and one has stuffed legs from a previous life.My small 14 year old with cushings gets the low fat she needs for the disease and the omegas in the ocean help her skin, hair and joints. She’s looking livelier and not loosing quite so much hair.My other big fatty gets the mix to reduce his weight and the ocean for his stuffed joints and his extra sensitive skin. I get compliments.Very happy dogs, stools look very healthy and consistent which is something I need to check with my cushings girl. All up highly recommend this natural food. I personally don’t like the idea of an artificial science based diet for my dogs. Bags last quite some time as you don’t need to feed as much.

Quality Dog Food But Not For My Dog
3 July 2021

As a dog food, it is well balanced and hit all of the checkmarks for nutrition even though it is grain free. Like other things, no two things are created the same. It just didn't agree with my dog's stomach and gave him the runs (apparently a more common thing with this food if the dog has a somewhat sensitive digestive track like mine). I ended up returning it and went with something more compatible with his sensitivities. Regardless my dog's issue, I'd recommend it if compatible with your dog and consider it a quality product.
