Wellness Core Wet Cat Food Simply Shreds Flaked Wild Salmon & Tuna

My cat who is a picky eater likes this food very much. Regarding the packaging, after some frustration at the beginning, I figured out how to open the packet without the contents spilling out. I use a little knife instead of trying to tear it open. For some reason the opening is curved and not straight.

95% water with a few tiny shreds of fish at the bottom

The hearty picture on the label is deceptive. This is 95% fish flavored water, with a couple of shreds of fish at the bottom. I bought for my mom's cat who had mouth cancer and she could only eat (drink) the broth. But there's so little meat in here, that a healthy cat will gobble it up in one mouthful. Add to that the fact that it's a "complementary" food (doesn't contain the nutrients required to count as a real meal), and you can see how $1.30 for this tiny packet is insane. The other flavors are the same way.

Didnt work

Besides the fact our two Siamese turned and walked away on these, each time I tried opening fishy sauce ended up on my hands. First time I tried it I made sure to be aware next time so liquid wouldnt leak on my hands. But no luck. Even when I tried my best to open carefully a lot ended up on my hands. If my cats ate them or liked them it wouldnt be the end of the world but after they disliked them and refused to eat. I was sorta happy because opening the packets was too messy. Great concept. My brothers cat will be getting the other packets for Christmas!

Great Diet Supplement to increase urine output.

In the summer of 2019 my male cat was diagnosed with crystals in his urine. The vet recommended increasing his water intake and a change in diet.We purchased a water fountain: He hates it, She LOVES it.The Vet recommended a urinary specific cat food. She hated it; only eats Wellness CORE Kitten Food. He tried but would not eat it.We reduced the amount of dry food fed daily and added water to the Wellness CORE Kitten Food.Added a second breakfast of a high water content food.For dinner we added an appetizer of CORE Simply Shreds in a separate dish.He now has normal output in the box.

Healthier for my cats than FAncy Feast Broths

I know Wellness brand is filled with more healthful ingredients than FF Broths. Issue is, my 2 cats are literally addicted to the FF Broth, and it is quite a challenge to get them to change over to healthier versions.The one downside (actually with all packaged Broths from other suppliers) is the packaging themselves. I have had countless packs spray into my eyes when I open them. The juice is hard to extract out of the packet and tends to get all over my hands when I squeeze it out.Why can these manufacturers change from pouches and put them in a can?When you feed 4 pouches a day, it is expensive. I am pretty convinced the manufacturers of packaged broth don't want to put them in cans because it cost more?FiguresOtherwise I am happy

It’s All Right

My two aren’t crazy I am never gonna getMy 2My 2 Maine Coons aren’t crazy about it. But we have it once in awhile and that is when it’s best accepted. My guys aren’t enthusiastic eaters of anything. They are just grazers.

Kitten loved it :)

I have a 5 month old kitten , and since I’ve had him I have chosen the Wellness brand for him. I love the simple ingredients plus my kitten loves all of their products as well. When I bought the shreds to try for the first time with my kitten he loved it . As soon as I opened up the tuna & wild salmon simply shreds bag my kitten could smell it , and ran over . I used it with wellness dry kitten food and just mixed in the simply shreds . Their is a lot of “broth” or “juice” in the bag so it makes a good mixer for dry food. I will continue to buy these for my kitten ! :]

Not great but he ate some of it

I ordered 3 different brands of salmon plus tuna toppers. He liked this one the least. The favorite is the topper by tiki cat. Second is the one by pure bites. Won't order this one again.

just like everyone else says

Very messy when you open them and smelly like everyone else says. Most of the time I also have to shove a knife in there or something to get the rest of it out of the package which is gross. Sometimes the juices literally fly across the floor. I tried a different brand and it was much less fishy and easier to open so I don’t think these are worth it. But my cat does like them so 3 stars it is.

terrible package design

These packets are the worst design and not at all user friendly. Extremely messy and hard to get food out and not water a bunch of the contacts that get stuck in the pouch! Never will I buy these again!
