I found this brand when we adopted a dog that would chew ( destroy) every single toy imaginable up and this brand was everything! We ended up buying all the toys made in the chewer section, they are 8 years old now & still look like they did when we bought them. This toy in particular has got to be the best toy ever. Our dog Zeus, has a toy with him if not two at ALL times & this one he likes to hang off of his food bowl while eating. He is such a comical dog & this toy lends to that. Our Pomeranian even loves the large S toy. Great for chewing & playing, even a laugh or two.

Over the past 17 years, we've had 3 dogs and have bought hundreds of toys over those years. None of our dogs were very rough with their toys, so we've had 3 baskets full of gently used dog toys. All 3 dogs have since passed away, the last one in June of 2020. So, in September of 2020 we got a mini Goldendoodle puppy. Since we still had the 3 baskets full of toys that were in good condition from our other dogs, our new puppy, "Bowie" has had tons of toys to play with. The big difference is that Bowie is NOT gentle with his toys!! He is a power chewer who not only tears toys apart, he will actually consume the stuffing!! I've had to take every toy away from him after a day or two due to his weird appetite! I NEVER leave him alone with a toy. But there is one toy from that bunch that he absolutely loves and is still in excellent condition. So, thankfully, I was able to find the name of the company stamped into this toy, and I immediately searched the internet for the company West Paw (praying that it was still around). I was ecstatic to find their website, and there I saw his beloved toy - the "Bumi"!!! I was also surprised to see it listed as a toy for gentle chewers! I saw that almost all the reviewers mentioned that their dogs were more like Bowie - power chewers. The other thing about the Bumi is that it makes Bowie do the Zoomies all around the house whenever he plays with it. It makes him crazy! So, the added benefit is the exercise he gets when he plays with it, and there is still not a single bite mark on it! I am so glad to have found West Paw's website, and I will definitely be buying more of their products. Thank you, West Paw!!! Keep up the good work!

When I had lost hope that there was a toy out there for my Zeus that he would not destroy immediately I had discovered Zogoflex and this toy in particular. We had a small business open up that carried West Paw toys and that was 5 1/2 years ago and every one of your toys still look brand new, they have been through the dishwasher several times but most of all Zeus was unable to destroy them yet still chews them as if he was a puppy! The Bumi is his all-time favorite and also mine, I canât tell you how many hilarious pictures I have gotten of him carrying this toy around because it does such fun things. Zeus is part lab and carries a toy, if not two toys around 24 seven. Thank you so much for making such awesome toys! I highly highly recommend this one especially, you cannot go wrong. I have told everyone I meet throughout the years about this brand, so much so Zeus should be their ambassador! LOL

This is our 3rd. Theyâre not indestructible so you do have to watch your dog with them, but all of our dogs have loved them. Our 7 month old puppy chewed the last one like mad while he was teething so we bought this one to replace it because he destroyed it. They hold up well, but again, they arenât indestructible and if you have a really powerful chewer, this probably wonât last long at all before they start getting chunks off. Nevertheless, our pack loves them and we have a few here so they donât have to âargueâ over them.
Recently purchased another one of these, the first in over six years. Durable, rugged toy, great for fetch in a relatively small yard. My 35-pound dog loves to play endlessly and this is great not only for retrieving, but for a bit of tug back and forth. The first one has lived outdoors in the elements and has held up extremely well. Only replaced it when it started to tear but never ripped completely through.
First day and my Goldendoodle and cockapoo had chewed the whole end of it. I had heard nothing but good things about west paw toys and how strong they are. I was super disappointed. First that it was that expensive. Second that they only got to play with it for 1 day and I had to take it. Needless to say they were not impressed either. I expected better quality for sure.
We bought our BUMI approximately 8-10 years ago for our first dog, Sierra. She loved it and she was the pickiest dog when it came to toys. She never enjoyed fetch, but boy did we play tug-a-war with this thing. Sadly, we had to put Sierra down about a year ago. Four years before she crossed that rainbow bridge, we adopted a friend for her to play with and keep young. Enter Phoenix into the picture.Phoenix and Sierra used to play tug with this toy despite Sierra now being picky about when she wanted to play anything with Phoenix. That's okay, he would enjoy the BUMI on his own and once again with me.Now, about nine months ago and also about nine months after Sierra left us, we adopted another dog. Lilo has warmed our hearts almost as much as she's tested our patience. She's finally calming down a bit after some professional training, but guess what? She is also playing with that same BUMI toy.West Paw may love to see these five-star reviews, but might not be happy that their toy has lasted THIS long, haha!
Have you ever been playing tug with your furbaby, only to have them accidentally nip you because they are trying to get a better grip? The ingenious "s" shape keeps this from happening, This toy is also safe for their mouths and teeth. There are less fights when two dogs are playing, because of the shape. Everyone gets a little more space. This toy can be thrown in the yard, or used for a game of tug inside. The big bonus is that even after being chewed aggresively, there is not a mark on it. I may never have to replace it! Love it!!!
Ginger loves to play independently with her toys, and this one is a big hit! The material is great for an active chewer. When she swings it around, it bounces unpredictably which keeps her interested. I like that it's soft, so it's not very loud when she drops it onto or slams it into the floor. Great fun and great durability!
The opportunity presented itself for me to try out the Bumi dog toy, produced by West Paw. This particular toy is one of West Paw's newest dog toys. Bumi, makes an exceptional toy for tug of war. It is made of Zogoflex. Zogoflex is a strong, malleable material that is suppose to withstand unfavorable conditions. Those conditions being my dog's sharp teeth, his powerful grip, and his action in thrashing it all over the yard as he is playing.Well, I went outside and introduced him to the Bumi. He wasn't excited like I thought he would be. At first, that was disappointing. He would not play tug of war with me. Instead, he liked running and fetching the Bumi back to me. He wasn't excited like I thought he would be. At first, that was disappointing. He would not play tug of war with me. Instead, he liked running and fetching the Bumi back to me. The Bumi is a light weight, "S" shaped, bouncy toy that is easy to throw for fetching. It also travels a bit further than most toys due to these traits. It is non-toxic, BPA and Phthalates free ( Phthalates is a chemical used to soften PVC plastics). These substances can cause damage to the kidneys, liver, lungs, and testes according to animal research. Not all dog toys are safe and I do not want to risk my dog's health for anything. The Bumi is made to be long lasting and safe for dogs to chew on. I like that he will fetch the toy because it requires him to get up and move. Exercise will be good for him and he is learning a few commands. I gave him a reward and that really motivated him to continue fetching. It looks like my dog will enjoy chewing on this toy for the most part. So far, it has held up well. When he puts his mouth on it, he grips it in the middle section, where it has a ball like shape. I suppose it's because this is the first time he has had a toy like this. Usually, he retrieves balls and other round toys so this toy is fun and easier for him to grip. This toy is made in the USA and it was made to last a long time. The chewing action is good for his gums and teeth. The Bumi floats in water and can be easily washed or placed in the dishwasher. Lastly, I was impressed with the fact that if the Bumi comes apart it can be returned to West Paw company for a new one. The West Paw Company made this toy so it can be recycled if returned. It's a great toy for my dog and with it being recyclable, it is good for us and our environment. I don't think a dog owner could go wrong in purchasing this new innovative toy by West Paw.
