A standard SATA power connector fits, but the drives won't spin up unless you put tape over the 3rd pin from the left. I hear there are adapters you can get to adapt the power, but I did the tape trick. You may need to google this if you're not familiar with it. Otherwise I've got two of these in a ZFS mirror on Proxmox, and they're working great.

Pros: My system immediately recognised the drive and windows 7 had it formatted in minutes.Excellent throughput. Filled the drive from 2 4TB drives and then sumchecked every file. Everthing checked out 100% and average read rate was 180MB/sec.

I'm really pleased with the performance in a DS420j 4 bay NAS. Under optimum conditions, the maximum transfer speed of a gigabit connection can be obtained. They're also not intrusively loud at all. I haven't owned them (two HDDs) long enough to comment on reliability.
