My Crucial T500 is rated for similar speeds but doesn't consistently reach them. Typically, my T500 maxes out around 6800MB/s, while this Western Digital drive can hit up to 7400MB/s. I could buy three of these for the price of one Gen 5.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. The durability is fantastic as well.10/10.

I cannot stress enough how good this drive is. Probably one of the best in the market. One of the fastest, most durable and can go to high temps and still work.I would highly recommend a double sided heatsink to look after this drive but you will not regret this purchase, and at the price it's going for right now. It's a no brainer.

Got two of these, one for my recent ASUS ROG Strix laptop and my wife's couple year older model laptop of the same. She has PCIe 3.0, so she didn't get the full speeds that I get on my PCIe 4.0 laptop, as was expected. That's fine as this drive will move into new laptops down the road with its massive storage size, ease of install, crazy speeds, and lack of any issues. Definitely recommend this drive as it is absolutely a game changer.

Essential storage upgrade for PS5
4 September 2023

Has been working without any hiccups. Price was way way better than buying new yet works totally fine. It was a little tricky to install at first and had to waste a little bit of thermal padding before getting it right. It's great not having to worry about storage space on my ps5 now, especiallysince I have slow download speeds. I was worried about buying used but have no regrets.

Excellent item, No issues, Getting about 6900Mb/s Read Speeds on my Asus Z790 TUF board. Recommended to use Macrium Reflect Free Edition if you need to Clone a drive to it, as you don't get anything Free with this WD NvME unlike if you Purchase a Samsung drive. MiniTool Partition Wizard is useful too, As there's not many free programs out there that can help you clone your OS drive to your new NvME, those programs are what I used, Cloned my 2TB NvME OS drive to this one and it works perfect.

Replaced the stock 2tb drive in my Acer Predator Helios 18 with this drive. I was a little concerned about the potential operating temperatures and having it in a laptop with no active cooling on the drive but I needn't have worried. I normally run it on a cooling pad and while playing MSFS with the cooling pad on the drive stayed below 30C, and without the cooling pad only peaked at around 50C.I haven't managed to achieve the peak sequential write speeds advertised, the OEM drive reaching higher, but the random read and write speeds are much higher! This is noticeable in normal operation as applications launch noticeably quicker. To achieve these higher speeds I did find that I had to install the WD Dashboard and put the drive into game mode, but even without ... MoreReplaced the stock 2tb drive in my Acer Predator Helios 18 with this drive. While other companies have been making excuses about BF/CM for slow dispatches, Scan dispatched 2 orders on the days they were ordered and had them to me faster than quoted! One came next day, the other in 2 days (dispatched saturday and arrived monday), when the quoted delivery was 4 working days.Absolutely recommend the SSD and company!

It was brand new. See pics
8 September 2024

I ordered it online, it was packaged very well. It came in the original box, with the manual, and it looked brand new. Crystaldiskinfo showed it had only been powered on 5 times in total, including me powering it on. Zero hours powered on, zero data written or read. So it's brand new. Crystaldiskmark showed good speeds, and I transferred a large file (60gb) between this ssd and another and got a consistent 3gb/s transfer speed. Very happy with it. Only issue now is I've comoletely filled up the storage. I'll have to buy another.

Perfect match for PS5 4TB was the right choice.
17 December 2022

I ordered the 4TB WD BLACK SN850X specifically to be installed in a PS5 for expanding the internal storage. I was initially concerned that I may have made a mistake by going the 4TB route because it is dual sided. However now that it is in and I am experiencing the advantage of that extra space I am so glad I went this route. I paired it with the Sabrent M.2 NVMe Heatsink (SB-PSHS) for the PS5 ConsoleEverything was super easy to install, the heat sink has been excellent for cooling. I have no complaints whatsoever. Excellent product. Most impressive of all was how incredibly fast I was able to transfer many games from the internal over to the new drive. Very impressive! I have a number of these in various sizes and would absolutely swear by them. Great performance, very reliable, and don't run very hot.Compared to a lot of the other brands I've tried these behave a lot better and the WD software to update the firmware is a lot less convoluted. Will certainly be buying some more to replace smaller drives.

Very fast, reliable, large capacity NVMe M.2 drive. Not gamer ! Required for many orchestral, instrumental VSTi /VST3i libraries, especially grand piano. WD Black 4tb SN850X NVMe has functioned very well during early days Win11 Pro /Reaper DAW usage.
