Great service from scan protective packaging etc. 20tb Hd drive upgrade my 14tb steam hd. Really fast drive not really nosiey in a pc maybe in a nas enclosure. Better than the red drive etc and not much digferemce to gold versions but cheaper good tech and reliable. Had these drived in past and never had any issues.

Better than the red drive etc and not much digferemce to gold versions but cheaper good tech and reliable. Had these drived in past and never had any issues.

I know the datasheet appears to say the opposite--the Ultrastar HC560 only hits 269 MB/s transfer speeds, while the Exos X20 can reach 285. But, the HC560 has twice the cache and OptiNAND compared to the X20, which makes it significantly faster at basically any non-sequential workload.The performance of these drives also far outclasses that of any consumer drives, even WD Blacks and Seagate Barracuda Pros. The seek times have been tuned in firmware to be the fastest possible. While this means that the noise output of these datacenter drives can make them less suitable for NAS use, they are otherwise an excellent option where you want the most out of your spinning storage.I expect these drives to be extremely reliable as well. HGST was a company known for making drives that were rock-solid in reliability, and WD purchased them in 2012. While the HGST brand was retired in 2018, the same engineers are still working to deliver products like this. Just look at how similar this drive looks to the HGST Ultrastar He12, which is now sold as the WD Ultrastar HC520.Though, some of these drives have a power disable feature that will keep the drive from turning on if it detects 3.3V power. To fix this, tape over the 3.3V pin on the SATA power connector.
I have 10 of these. 0 DOA. They just chug along and do what they are suppose to do all day and all night. Highly recommended!
I'm building out a NAS for my home and using these hard drives, which have large capacity (20TB each) and so far they don't make much noise - note that I'm not driving them hard, but the NAS is mostly for storing large amounts of photos and the occasional video so it shouldn't be pushed hard in my system. So I'm totally happy with the low noise level, but check a few more reviews if you're going to push these harder, if noise is a big deal to you.
After RMAing a broken drive, the replacement has tested out fine with the badblocks program. Will see how it fares after a few years of use.
Great reliable HDD
All good so far, replaced one by one a RAID5 array with 6 HDD and it's performing very well. Lower noise than the previous ones from Sinology HAT5300. Excellent price ratio.
Excellent HD with large capacity for storage or to be used in servers or NAS devices. I have been using several of previous 18 and 16 TB versions, never had any failure.
