I'm very happy with the 10TB Purple drive that I bought for my home PC-based home surveillance system. It's running fine so far with my initial three 4K cameras. I'm running Blue Iris on a Dell 7040 i5 SFF, storing only movement-triggered segments, so I should have plenty of storage for my planned 10 x 4K cameras.

I replaced my 2GB Surveillance Hard Drive with the 4GB WD Purple Surveillance Hard Drive. So far everything is recording fine, and I can retain surveillance footage longer without the drive recording over it

Ladies and gentlemen, I am happy tk report that o successfully used two of these hard drives (6T each) for my lorex NVR.Note that it doesn't come with any power cables or anything else. You only get the bare hard drive.With that being said, it works great!!!

Had trouble with my security camera hard drive, this hard drive worked excellent, twice the storage, has a great warranty, great price, shipping was free,, better than buying one off Market place or EBAY
Installed in a Hikvision NVR. Install was easy and formatting was without a problem. Working fine.
I use a Purple SV Series SATA Hard Drive with a capacity of 2TB, which is used for IP CCTV (NVR) recording equipment.is there a stipulation how long I have to prepare a replacement hard drive?As we know, CCTV hard drives are used every day.and is there a newsletter that I can use as a parameter for periodic hard disk replacement?
I mounted the Purple drive in an existing NVR, connected the power and SATA cables, powered it on, it came up immediately as additional storage for the NVR. 8 gb gave us an additional 90 days of storage with 27 cameras.
I found the purple 4tb a good choice for a movie server data base. At 5400 speed it isslower in transfer rates, however it functions perfectly for my purposes. A good choice.
I needed a hard drive to replace my Tivo hd. I was looking for larger drive and a something reliable. I know WD are very good drives. Purple drive just what I needed the ability to record over and over. They have great warranty and support. Everything working great no problems.
I bought two of these. Western Digital makes some fast reaction time Hard Drive's. I would of gotten a bigger Hard Drive, but the system I have shows 10 TB Max. Makes no since why my system would have a Max. The Hard Drive is storage Data.
