I bought this fridge because I had a Westinghouse fridge previously. This time I was disappointed Westing 312L has compromised the quality for money. The temperature controls are mechanical. They are sliding controls just open and close the air paths to the freezer and the refrigerator. The freezer control is so loose I can blow from one end to the other end. When I move food in the freezer the slide gets moved and changes the temperature in the fridge. Sometimes the fridge goes down -10C.

A smaller fridge than my last but recent widowhood has reduced my need for space. Curiously the compressor has a soft whine of a frequency that suggests my mobile phone is going off in another room - I'll get used to that, but it makes me think that fridges could come with a sound rating as well as a 1 to 5 star energy consumption rating. The other thing I need to get used to is the door hinge which holds the door half open to allow several items to be removed until a definite closure is effected. I have that type of hinge on my separate freezer and it also keep the door open and the light shining if try to close the door with a teeny tiny push.

I chose a Westinghouse 308L Bottom Mount Fridge White WBB3100WK with the assistance of an Appliance Online employee who ansered my phone call asking for help. It was delivered promply without fuss the next day and I was notified efficiently of its coming. My old fridge sat on the nature strip oavernight because there wasn't any room in the truck to take it away on the day the new one was delivered, but it disappeared, as promised, without a worry. The delivery guys were careful and courteous. Although my new fridge is slightly smaller than my old one, my food fits into it easily. Great to be updated with a model that makes and stores ice cubes. I'm tremendously pleased with the whole outcome. Thank you Online Appliances.

I needed a new fridge just for me - single person household. Looked at smaller fridges but they looked too small and seemed impractical. Decided to purchase the 312L Top Mount and havent been disappointed. The space inside the fridge section is perfect for one person (and possibly two people). I especially like the top slide out tray which provides extra storage for cold meats or chocolate! The freezer section is ok though Im used to a larger freezer so am getting used to a reduced space in this area of the fridge. Overall, am very happy with my purchase and would recommend for a small household.
Legendary refrigerator brand lives up to reputation! Overall it performs very effectively: it is extremely quiet, chills the contents very quickly and appears to be very well designed and constructed. The storage is as flexible as can be imagined in a relatively compact fridge. There is only one small gripe: since we can only open the doors through 90 degrees (due to the layout of our wall), the width of the crisper drawer prevents it from being fully withdrawn. To take the drawer out completely requires moving the fridge forward and angling it so that the crisper clears the inner molding at the bottom of the main door. The crisper can accept smaller items like potatoes, but not -say - a half a pumpkin.

Pros: vegetables are staying very fresh in the crisper. I was a bit worried because of the design but it’s been really good. Cons: a little loud. I can’t fit loaf of bread on freezer door which I could with my old fridge. Instead it has to take up valuable space in the main part. Can’t fit sauce bottles on the first two shelves on the door. Tbf other brand fridges had similar door and shelf set ups. It would be great if the freezer was about 15l bigger and fridge 15l smaller. First fridge delivered had a small dent on the outside. Delivery person and Appliances online both great in immediately organising a replacement delivered a day or so later. Can’t fault the service there.
This is much louder than any older fridge I’ve owned. Not crazy loud. Not hurting eardrums… But well above what you’d expect from a new, nice Westinghouse fridge. It’s either completely silent or, after a clunk when the motor kicks in, quite loud for a fridge. Everything else about it and Appliances Online is great. But, after following up with the manufacturer, they confirmed this fridge is louder and that it is explained in the manual (arguable. It explains which noises are “normal”. Doesn’t say “hey this is much louder than before”). Apparently it has something to do with a more environmentally conscious construction (parts and materials I assume? considering more noise generally means less efficiency). If you have a small place, record music or really value complete silence - I recommend considering something else. It needs to be made clear to customers that these fridges make more noise. No one buys a new fridge >$1K in 2021 thinking it might be louder than their old fridge, or that noise would be a factor at all. That’s a problem of the 1980’s.
This fridge/freezer is good value for the price, it has all the features i was looking for. While it a not as big as the fridge i had before, i found it has adequate space with the shelving and crispers and door compartments to accomodate my needs. Having remivable shelves helps when cleaning as well. Also being able to afjust the temperature separately for the fridge or freezer as needed is very good. I think all up its a good product.

The glass shelving means we can keep the fridge clean - unlike the traditional wire shelving, where you can't really see where the dirt is, but it is definitely there! You can also see things much easier. We removed one shelf completely - not enough room for three shelves, but that depends how you want to configure it. We moved the egg tray up into the dairy compartment in the door, because it is so big - plenty of room for the butter and eggs. Yes, the egg tray only holds 10 eggs, but two more sit easily on top of them with no risk of falling. The other bins for the door are great and very spacious. We also purchased three clear 'bins' from Bunnings for $4 each (don't buy from HSW - they're 10 times more expensive) that fit perfectly, side-by-side, on the top shelf for all our condiments and small bottles of tonic water. I think the trick with small fridges is to use clear containers/boxes where everything can be easily seen and stored neatly. The only negative comment I have is that the fruit and vege drawer doesn't move in or out easily and makes some weird noises, like it's going to break (I hope it doesn't). With the drawers in the freezer, you do need to have room to open the door right out, otherwise you'll struggle to open the drawers - they get blocked by the moulding around the door frame internally. As far as the comments about the fridge being noisy - it is a little more-so than our previous fridge, but not problematic. The only other thing, that's neither positive or negative, but I wasn't aware of - the finish on the sides of the fridge isn't the flat finish that is on the front doors. It's kind of rough, textured material - probably saved the manufactures money. It's fine for us because it's not visible, but if the fridge is going to be free-standing it's something you might like to be aware of. So, yeah, overall we love our little fridge and hope it lasts as long as the previous one did (15+ years). Not sure about that though - as with everything these days, it does seem a little flimsy. But for the price, we are rapt!!
