Having used this oven for about 4 months now (and quite extensively, given the amount of time we are all required to stay at home) I can honestly say that I am happy with it. The oven heats fairly rapidly, evenly, while the door remains relatively cool. It's a stylish addition to the kitchen, very simple to use, not too difficult to clean.I was worried that a 60cm oven might be a bit small which is why I opted for a dual option, and it was a good choice. Preparing a roast for example is easy, there is plenty of room and being able to set temperatures independently is a big advantage when trying to cook different components that need different temperatures and cooking times. The only criticism is that the racks can feel a bit flimsy underneath heavier pans, but it ... MoreHaving used this oven for about 4 months now (and quite extensively, given the amount of time we are all required to stay at home) I can honestly say that I am happy with it. This oven was a replacement for one that had served us well for 50 years. The new oven had to fit into the same slot in our kitchen, so its dimensions were the first requirement and restricted us to only a few choices, all of which were smaller than our original oven, so we knew we would have to cover the gaps with a bead. The second requirement was that I was not interested in bells and whistles only requiring an oven that would bake a cake and cook a chicken but it had to be good quality, not necessarily the cheapest. I told the salesman to be aware I had done my research about prices at other stores.. I agreed to pay the price of removal of my old oven and installation of the new, but did not require a carpenter to construct the bead. So far, I have used both the top and bottom ovens for baking, but not the grill. All good. Except that I have had to adjust to the smaller size, fitting less in and using smaller dishes. It has only been a few weeks, which is too soon to tell if the oven will last the distance. I do not expect 50 years.

I bought this model 6 months ago to replace a 15 year old model which was starting to develop faults in the electronics in the control panel. Two different appliance servicemen said it was unable to be fixed so I went for a new one in the same configuration as I really like having a separate second oven. Unfortunately the size of the new model differed slightly from the old, so that meant a visit from a cabinetmaker to rearrange the kitchen to fit. After quite a few months now I am getting used to the new oven - it has a few quirks that the previous one didn't, the main one being that it runs much hotter than the thermostat says. I had a few problems trying to bake biscuits etc as they would invariably burn on the bottom; (and I am known for my biscuits, so this was ... MoreI bought this model 6 months ago to replace a 15 year old model which was starting to develop faults in the electronics in the control panel. I had a few problems trying to bake biscuits etc as they would invariably burn on the bottom; (and I am known for my biscuits, so this was really annoying!) Eventually a friend lent me a laser/digital temperature gauge and I discovered that the oven constantly runs at 20 degrees hotter than the thermostat indicates. That's quite a difference. Now that I know that I can compensate and cook at a much lower temp. One gripe I have is that I can't find a way to turn off the oven lights when cookinglong and slow in the oven, i.e. a shoulder of pulled pork. I don't need 2 lights running all the time for 6 - 7 hours so how do I turn them off? The manual says how to for a different model but not this one. Perhaps I've missed something but I'd love to know. I can see replacement lights coming up next and they will no doubt be expensive.Other than that I'm happy with the oven, especially having the fan bake function in the smaller oven which the previous one didn't. I use the small oven much more now when there's just 2 of us.

Great Oven -work wellONE PROBLEM the USER MANUAL (on line) no being online isn't the problemWe spent over AUD2000 on a new oven and over AUD250 for installation. Why on earth do you only make ONE single instruction manual for every darn oven in the total range A one fits all instruction manual policy makes it almost impossible to read or follow what the hell to do and how to go about it. I think the engineering department should take a back step and the marketing and sales group come to the rescue! Not only would I warn any potential buyer the lack of clarity in the manual is dumbfounding and bordering on totally stupid.Since it is a pdf document they make available, surely they could create ONE manual for EACH model without significant effort. Recently I purchased the new WVE625SC wall oven. This replaced an earlier Westinghouse oven PXP688S that needed to be upgraded and replaced as it was not working as well as it should have. The new oven is really an excellent choice. The cut out size was perfect so it was really very easy to swop the new oven with the old. The features available on the new model are excellent and the oven cooks really very well. It's quick and cooks very evenly. The whole family are loving using it and look forward to preparing their meals every night. The service and delivery from Appliances Online was excellent, as usual. 10/10
We bought the WVE625SC to replace an older Westinghouse oven that had been used for many years. The WVE625SC is a great looking oven, that has a lot of awesome features. The oven cooks really well and evenly. It's fast and has many different options available to get the most out of your cooking. The dual oven is fantastic and the smaller oven is so handy to have. The whole family love using this oven and people are now spending more time in the kitchen trying and preparing new and wonderful recipes. Thanks Westinghouse for this excellent product
There are two downsides with this oven for us1. Instructions for the use of the oven are only available on-line. This makes it difficult for us as we are not very computer literate. Would much prefer printed instructions.2. The oven shelves requires stoppers on the shelves so you won't finish up with a floor covered in roast dinner. We can't understand why these stoppers arn't supplied. It is really ridiculous that you have to go and buy a basic necessity for a brand new oven Could have been 5 stars except for this issue! As it was the first trial of the of the oven was a cake. My wife was able to catch it. Had it been her traditional roast, it would have been a disaster!
We purchased this oven as the oven in our new home died just after we moved in (not great timing!). The existing oven was of a similar size, and having recently installed a Westinghouse oven (different model however), we knew they worked great (fantastic for baking and pizza!). The 8/5 Duo is a fantastic combination to have, as we find ourselves using the small lower oven for the odd smaller items you want to bake or grill (we have a young family, so it's used just about daily), but without heating up as big a space as the big top oven. Having the two ovens also gives us great flexibility to back multiple items at different temperatures, or have that massive cook up for when you are entertaining at home. The large oven is fantastic for baking (it really does make a difference having good even heat), and we have been successfully backing great cakes with this oven. Overally, we arereally impressed with it's functionality, quality, usability, and it fits right into our kitchen decor. And being manufactured in Australia, spare parts (if ever required) will be much easier to source. I'm glad we chose Westinghouse again over other more expensive European brands.
Bought this oven a few months ago and the wire shelves have an upturned lip at the front which makes it hard to get baking trays out of oven especially if flat for baking biscuits etc. We have all burnt ourselves at some stage taking things out of oven. I have tried many times to change how I take things out of oven. Tried to buy flat shelves through Westinghouse but apparently they're not compatible with my appliance. Would definitely not have bought this oven if I knew back then what I know now. Will not be buying anything like this ever again. Have no idea why they'd be designed like this.
Bought this oven approx 4 weeks ago and so far very happy with it.We were replacing an earlier Westinghouse dual unit and hoped that the sizes would remain the same, unfortunately not. The width was the same, which was great but the new unit was 30mm shorter so we had to manufacture a platform for the oven to sit on and a face piece to match existing cabinets. The new oven is of better design than the old unit, with the oven surrounds being cooled be an external fan forced system, as is triple layer oven door. This keeps heat away from surrounding cupboards and the door much safer for children.Illumination of both ovens is excellent, with 3 lights in the large cavity and one in the small. Both ovens are fan forced and seem to cook quite evenly. Our oven is ... MoreBought this oven approx 4 weeks ago and so far very happy with it.We were replacing an earlier Westinghouse dual unit and hoped that the sizes would remain the same, unfortunately not. Be aware of this as an electrician is required. So far the new unit has have done everything we ask of it perfectly, so we are happy and would recommend this unit without qualification.
