The Westinghouse French door fridge was one of only two options that would fit the space available in our new home. However we are delighted with the interior size and features (plentiful door racks, wine rack, huge freezer space, ice drawers). Highly recommend this stylish fridge - choosing the full pullout drawers rather than the split design maximized the practical freezer space. Note that the inability to access one of the pullout crisper drawers without both fridge doors being open is a consistent issue with ALL French door fridges (due to the central white closer) - you quickly get used to this.

We have had the fridge for 3 months now. It's a good fridge but we have found that the freezer is nowhere near big enough for our needs and we have had to get an additional freezer to be able to store the exact amount of food we could store in our previous refrigerator. The fridge section is actually bigger than what we need so sits half empty most of the time, however was good at Christmas with a large turkey and leftovers. Improvement in the design would be to add some of the space in the fridge section towards the freezer section. So if you need a decent sized freezer section then I wouldn't recommend this fridge. There is also a cosmetic issue with the doors of the refrigerator where they are lopsided and it is quite noticeable which is disappointing. The fridge is good and has a large fridge section, although the freezer is a bit small for us. We were disappointed to find after receiving the fridge that the doors on our fridge are lopsided by about a centimetre, it is easily noticed and clearly alters the look of the fridge which is a shame for what was an expensive outlay of money - obviously a manufacturing fault that occurred on our particular fridge, so you will need to check this if you purchase this model . Our previous fridge was a Westinghouse side by side which we loved and lasted more than 10 years, so we decided to buy another Westinghouse and hope it lasts long as well. Apart from the cosmetic issue, there are no other issues at this stage.

It has taken us both a bit to get used to the second stage on each door where you have to push to close it, unlike others that swing shut easy, not a huge negative though. Its great that you can open or shut both or either doors , they seal without having to shut the right or left one first. Easy to find things in there by opening both doors, makes it look like a much bigger fridge than it is. Love the freezer and the view into it, had to get used to coming in from the side to replace a fresh water filled ice tray so as not to spill it, sounds odd but you will get it when you try it. Only two us in the house but lots of visitors some weekends, we thought a fridge of this size might look like over kill in our small home, but everyone comments that it does not and is ... MoreIt has taken us both a bit to get used to the second stage on each door where you have to push to close it, unlike others that swing shut easy, not a huge negative though. Needed to find a suitable fridge for the built-in space we had for a two-door older Westinghouse that had been terrific for over 20 years. I am delighted with this one- very quiet and sits well in the space as not quite as deep as the old Westinghouse. Freezer drawers just fit the goods I had in the old one, but the two door fridge compartment is HUGE and definitely holds more than the old one. Highly recommend this fridge.Plus the price + free delivery and unpacking made the AO deal unbeatable.
I've only had this a week and I'm still getting used to the French door design, over the older side-by-side fridge I had. There were a couple of niggling quality control issues....the gap between the doors when closed was about 1mm at the top and about 10mm at the bottom. The temperature control panel also seemed loose and I had to stick it back on. I contacted Westinghouse with photos and they quickly replied, authorising me to get it looked at under warranty. This happened pretty quickly and was an easy adjustment. The fridge part is very roomy and easy to find things, though with a fridge thermometer in there, I notice the temperature varies quite a bit, especially on the extreme edge of the shelves, compared to the middle and lower sections. This happened pretty quickly and was an easy adjustment. The fridge part is very roomy and easy to find things, though with a fridge thermometer in there, I notice the temperature varies quite a bit, especially on the extreme edge of the shelves, compared to the middle and lower sections. And if both doors are open for only a short length of time, the temp quickly goes up to 10C.The shelves are very wide, and I do worry about their ability to support a lot of heavy weight, so based on that, I'm putting most of my heavy things on the bottom shelf, above the veggie crisper. My old fridge had a small goods drawer, which I liked, and this one doesn't, however it is roomy enough to buy a couple of your own organisers to store items in.You can open either door...and I find I am thinking more before opening them...trying to work out which side I need! You can properly open the LHS veggie bin with only the LH door open, but you can only open the RH bin a little way when the RH door is open. If you want to take the veggie bins out, you have to remove the door bins, as the doors don't open really wide....my old fridge the doors would open close to 180 degrees, these ones about 120 degrees. The freezer seems ok and I'm glad I got the drawer version, just because it fits more odd shaped items in it. I really like the manual ice maker and it works easily. There is no light in the freezer, which I do miss a bit. The freezer drawer is a bit of pull to open it, and I am aware of the weight it holds, so I'm being gentle with the handle. I think the previous version had issues with this handle coming off, but I verified with Westinghouse that this has been updated....which I observed at the install....the handle is now fitted using an allen key.The outside appearance is a nice stainless steel....I find I do have to wipe the handles down every day, but it is an easy process....no different to wiping your kitchen bench. It comes up very nice when wiped over.I did take out the bottle storage rack, and I have been able to customise the door bins quite well to suit my needs. If you can get this fridge at a good price, I would recommend it, especially after having experienced the very good customer service via Westinghouse.
I bought this fridge a few weeks ago, it has been precisely perfect from the moment it was installed. The fridge compartment generously accommodates a larger amount of food products than I expected, and the french doors deceptively hold a great deal more than i thought they would. My vegetables remain crispier and fresher, than my last fridge, and the lower freezer section is a bonus, with 3 drawers to hold a variety of frozen goods of your choosing. The digital temperature control is set by default, and i find it works perfectly for me. The icecube maker is an instant hit with my kids, they love having ice ready to go for their smoothies, and drinks. It’s a precisely perfect design in size, and quality performance for our household. I spent many weeks searching for a fridge that would fit into our standard size kitchen cavity, which also allowed extra storage space for our food products. Our old fridge had become to small, and inefficient. I am absolutely satisfied with the price i paid, the performance, and especially the fact it fits perfectly into my kitchen. Every other fridge size, meant removing cupboards or extending walls, or it simply stuck out to far in depth.I strongly recommend and endorse this fridge to anyone who has a growing family, or needs more storage space, you will not be disappointed.
Fridge and freezer space is great, cant fault it there.Thought we wouldnt like the freezer drawer as it seemed flimsy when empty, but when full of food, it hasnt been a problem. Two minor issues1. the fridge door handles rattle about A LOT when opening and closing the doors. Its very annoying. And it appears you cant easily get them off to re-fit them, or if youre strong enough to get them off, youll risk probably scratching the doors.2. the left hand fridge door has a flap/seal on it that is meant to close behind the right one, however sometimes it doesnt flick into the right position upon opening and it then hits the right hand door upon closing. This is also very frustrating. Hopefully they will be resolved soon though. The two issues I mentioned dont make it a bad fridge, they are just very frustrating.
The fridge/freezer has a nice stainless steel finish and is built strong and sturdy with no flimsy attachments or wonkiness. The fridge compartments and shelving are versatile and create more space with the glass shelves extending to all perimeters. I can see it will be easy to clean. The plastic compartments for the doors are also durable and versatile in placement. The wine/bottle rack has been taken out as we won't use it and we also have a shelf out after having to make room for larger 3L juice and milk bottles. Otherwise the fridge space and visibility of items works well, along with the crispers that you can see through. There is enough space in them with the only thing we are having to do is cut the top from celery. Otherwise the fridge space and visibility of items works well, along with the crispers that you can see through. There is enough space in them with the only thing we are having to do is cut the top from celery. The doors not shutting automatically isn't difficult to get used to and we haven't had very much of the beeping reminder happening. The door closure mechanism of keeping all the cool air in is a great feature with the blowing stopping when the doors are open, as to not lose cool air.The freezer has 3 compartments and you have to ensure nothing hits the top of each compartment or they won't close. The lower basket would have been better if bigger as frozen vegetable bags and boxed items take up a lot of space. We have had to transfer some items into plastic sealed bags for freezing purposes. It takes a bit of adjusting to when previously you have had one large freezer space, although I can see that the system creates a better air flow and therefore freezing of items and organisation. The bending down to put in or take out items isn't a problem as you aren't doing it for very long. Again, cleaning and removal of the bottom basket seem really simplistic.Overall it is a very good, efficient and well built fridge/freezer that effectively cools, keeps products fresh and freezes quickly from Westinghouse, which with the newer technology runs quieter than the one we replaced. We have gained more fridge space, organisation and visibility and lost a little freezer space. A little tweak and better balance of fridge to freezer space is needed.
Received our fridge just over a week ago. It took a little while to get used to this one as it replaces a Westinghouse side by side we had for nearly 16 years (that had a slow gas leak that couldn't be repaired) We find that this fridge needs to run on 0 to get things the right temp (this is end of summer Western Sydney) I ended up buying some digital thermometers, as I felt the fridge wasn't cold enough at the normal setting of 3, and I also looked up that French Door fridges can tend to run warm. Sure enough, even on 0 the best I can do is 0-1 sometimes overnight, but usually 2-3, with fluctuations up to 5..(that is with only 2 adults using it....so a family will be opening it more frequently and the temp might rise more during the day) So, keep this in mind when ... MoreReceived our fridge just over a week ago. Sure enough, even on 0 the best I can do is 0-1 sometimes overnight, but usually 2-3, with fluctuations up to 5..(that is with only 2 adults using it....so a family will be opening it more frequently and the temp might rise more during the day) So, keep this in mind when using this as you don't want your food to go over 5 as a base rate regularly and it might in some spots in the fridge on the 3 setting (as there are some sections/shelves warmer than others) Maybe ours isn't running right? IDK, but 0 atm seems to be correct for us, will adjust if necessary in the winter. It looks really good and has more fridge space than our old side by side. Unfortunately, the freezer section is smaller so I had to buy a small chest freezer as well. I was stuck with this size fridge and configuration due to the size of the cabinets as the new side by sides are just a bit too tall to fit, and single doors were too wide to open fully with my kitchen configuration, and we aren't renovating for at least another 5 years, so..... As I have read that the door handles can break off due to the plastic parts holding them on, I am mindful of how I use it. (I never had an issue with the handles on our old Australian made Westinghouse) Be aware that if you close the fridge or freezer doors, there is a vacuum created to seal it for a few seconds (as all fridges should have), so leave it before you try to open again as that will put undue stress on the handles. I have the freezer running on -17, not -18 as I found the front of the drawers would get icy on the colder temp. I find the ice maker awkward to use (the drawer) as the drawer of the freezer doesn't come out that far so it is hard to get it back in without spilling some sometimes....and I am on a bit of an awkward angle to do it as we have a bench that is front of that, so I have to stand at the side to bend over to do it. Other than that it works well and I can make quite a bit of ice at a time to tip into the bin so there is always ice in there. No need to get the ice and water version that needs to be plumbed and can leak and cause all sorts of damage, if there are issues.
