This can be plugged into a normal power socket, unlike the devanti one I checked out. Its a bit noisy, the controls could be better, but overall its very good as a long term cooktop until we get around to a kitchen reno. Both sides are sufficiently powerful and the weaker side still boils water fine. Really the only annoyance is that if I have both 'burners' going, I have to turn both off to turn one off, then turn the other one back on haha but its no big deal once you are used to it. The portable appliance market is yearning for higher quality stuff I reckon.

Very handy portable cooktop. Using in a Kitchenette in the teenagers retreat / home school studio. Larger than I expected but a very usable size. Easy to use plug in them put away when not needed. Heats up quickly and does the job. Great little product. Easy to use and clean. Kids can make their own lunch / snacks while studying.

This is a great, easy to use cooktop. There are two things that could be improved though. 1. A temperature adjustment within 10 degrees instead of 20 degrees. 2. You cannot adjust temperature and wattage together. ( Maybe this is happening, although I cannot determine this on the screen. ) When reducing wattage the temperature reverts to maximum and vice versa. Overall very happy with this cooktop, it is fast, easy to move and clean.

We like to reduce cooking odors in our caravan by cooking outside when possible. The Westinghouse Twin Induction Cook Top is compact and light, so allowing us to include it in our caravan utensils. We can now cook with the excellent temperature control that induction cook tops provide. It is great for either instant high temperatures needed for a steak or a low and slow curry - without the lasting odors staying in the caravan.
I bought this because I trusted the brand, bad decision. The instruction manual is very basic. The most annoying thing is that there are two rings but only ONE power one/off button. So if you have both rings on and you need to turn one off you either have to turn both off or set the one you actually need to turn off on a timer.Another thing is the ceramic plate overheats too quickly, the overheating error message came on after I heated up 3 rotis on medium setting.Would not recommend.
I've been using this induction cooktop in a "holiday house" for nearly two years. It's performed well over that time. As with all induction cooktops, it manages lower heat levels by cycling on and off to maintain a simmer/etc. The Westinghouse has a long cycle time, which means that the pot will often boil up before receding again - it would be far better if it had a more frequent cycle time to not allow this boil/cool thing to happen as much. The cooktop failed just recently - well, started sparking when I plugged it in! I opened it up and found that two of the PCB tracks were too close together and had started arcing between them (see my productreview review for photos). This is just bad design. I've been able to repair the current fault, but I suspect it will ... MoreI've been using this induction cooktop in a "holiday house" for nearly two years. It's performed well over that time. My wife and I love this twin induction cooktop by Westinghouse. Plug and Play is awesome. It has a beautiful low profile and looks fantastic on our benchtop. We do not need 4 "burners" most people don't. Each "element" has a timer which means that we dont forget or overcook - simple to use.Don't waste your money on an expensive induction cooktop when this does the job perfectly. My friend has seen mine and has ordered one for his family.
I also have a Bosch Induction Cook-top. I purchased the Westinghouse to take on holiday. Pans that work with the Bosch wont work with the Westinghouse. Those that do work with the Westinghouse do not work very well with very uneven heating across the pan. Very difficult to fry a pan full of eggs evenly. All the pans I have work well on the Bosch. I know this was a lot cheaper than the Bosch but it is nearly unusable. After returning from holidays I cannot see myself using this appliance again. If I could rate lower than 1 star I would.
Have a Breville Quick Cook and while it has a patently absurd interface it's actually pretty good. Wanted a second burner thought I'd give this a try and it's trash.- heat distribution is atrocious, tiny arrangement of magnets- thermostat is laggy (induction hotplates are intended to cycle to maintain temperature, this one is incredibly slow to detect temperature changes so maintaining pan temp is way harder than the Breville)- far more prone to overheating and shutting off than the BrevilleAll in all totally sucks exchanged tor another single burner Breville and will just use two of those as needed. First time I've ever returned an appliance.*Just so you know I'm not a Breville employee - the Breville has the dumbest interface I have ever seen on a home ... MoreHave a Breville Quick Cook and while it has a patently absurd interface it's actually pretty good. I wish there were more portable induction burners on the market in Australia so we could get some competition and see better products, but so far the Quick Cook is the best I've tried.
We love this. We bought it to place on top of our gas stove/oven so we can cut right back on our gas use. (we put a thick timber board between the stove and cooktop). The air in our home is now gas free....the difference in air quality when cooking is just amazing. The cooktop is simple to use. I control the temperatures, not some preset settings as others have. It is even more responsive than the gas, which I was not expecting. Basically, it is better than we expected it could be. With this, our airfryer, and convection microwave, we almost never now need to use the gas oven/stove. My husband agrees it was a wonderful decision to buy this induction cooktop.
