Wiha Speede II Electric Electric Screwdriver

$177.00

(144 reviews)

Several screw connections a day, hundreds of screw connections a week. As a craftsman, a lot of time and energy are invested in recurring screwing work. The resulting pain in the wrists cannot be felt by the body. Thanks to the electric drive of the e-screwdriver speedE II, the joints and tendons are protected during continuous use. In addition, the expenditure of time is reduced by 3 times. As an additional highlight, the speedE II offers the integrated material protection function. With sensitive screw joints, for example with plastic covers of sockets, must not be tightened too heavily, as otherwise the material may get damaged. Here the speedE II switches off automatically at 0.4 Nm and gives the user the full control to handle the last suit gently by hand. If more force is needed, the second-generation speedE offers the possibility to increase the electric force to 1.0 Nm using a slide switch. If more force is needed, the speedE II can still be applied manually up to 12 Nm without damaging it. During the screw connection, the integrated LED emits a continuous light for an optimum view of the screw. In this way, the luminous LED can be used as a torch in poorly illuminated working environments by tapping the ring switch. The increased ring switch and smooth rotation guarantee even better user-friendliness. Thanks to the combination of ease of work and the ergonomic SoftFinish grip form, the e-screwdriver speedE II is recommended by German doctors and therapists from the AGR. The set contains two red slimBits, a USB battery charger and two standard batteries of the type 18500, allowing continuous working. This text is machine translated.

However the torque is very weak and struggles to tighten any terminals or loosen them. The overall feel of the tool is bulky and not the best to handle. The battery life is terrible and the charge time for such a small battery is far too long.To compare it to anything, think of a child's play toy electric screwdriver. It’s a solid price of equipment and a very good weight, unfortunately the contacts and start switch seem a little unresponsive sometimes. I’ve only ever used it in a clean second fix environment and it sticks and over runs or it doesn’t come on straight away. But really a minor issue. It is fantastically easy to use.A real benefit to the workplace and a saver or my wrists. The box it comes in is compact and robust, it links with other types easily. The selection of bits you can get with it varies massively for pretty much all screw heads. At first I had thought it was a little over priced, but after working with it for some time it’s really an invaluable assist to the job.The work light and versatility of the slim vario and speed e ticks all boxes for a well thought ... MoreIt’s a solid price of equipment and a very good weight, unfortunately the contacts and start switch seem a little unresponsive sometimes. What I have experienced, the speed-e is that it is a very firm and strong driver, with the ability to do most of the work for you. The only thing is that it needs that extra bit of kick when unscrewing screws. But I understand that with the size of the battery and motor inside the driver, that will be hard to achieve.Positives great at saving time unscrewing and screwing with just a touch of a button. Love when you are in a awkward position to unscrew a screw the ease of just pushing a button makes life 100 times easier.Negative- it’s not strong enough all the time. Not the end of the world to loosen a screw but it would be niceGreat features with the light at the end of the screw driver which makes life a lot better. I probably would not have purchased the speed-e for the original price which I think was over the £150 mark. As I could get other toolset for that price and I just could not come to grips with paying that much for a screwdriver. That may be personal preference though

I have been using the product for a couple of months on site. It is frequently used and has not presented any issues. It feels solid made, the driver bits engage nicely in to the holder and do not slip when used.Extremely easy to use. I have kept it within the L-Boxx it arrived in and this has kept everything nice and neatly together and easy to hand to use.The low torque setting has been reported by many as too low and for some purposes it is. It would be beneficial to up this to 1Nm to make more multi purpose. However, when used to screw back electrical accessory faceplates it performs very well, the low Torque is only an issue if the box threads are not clean. An improved torque or variable torque setting would enable to product to serve additional purposes including working within consumer units.at full purchase price i believe there are other products on the market that offer better value for money as they can serve multiple purposes

It’s feels sturdy and the bits are held securely in the main body. It’s super easy to use just twist to losen your screw then twist the trigger and your screw comes undone. The only reason It’s not a 5 star is it’s to easy to accidentally twist the trigger whilst tightening or loosening off the the screw to start with and you then get a bit of move the from the screwdriverAs far as features go it’s pretty limited. I've had this now for over a year and use it quite a lot, especially when faced with a lot of screwing. I received mine after a lot of poor publicity for SpeedE last spring, but I'd researched it on American and German websites where its true potential (and limitations) were clearly laid bare. It was not intended for the kind of treatment I think many sparks wanted to use it for (hence the poor reviews I saw last year). Maybe Wiha got the marketting wrong; that being said, the SpeedE II looks like it does address a lot of concerns about torque and grunt. For me, the SpeedE met my occasional requirements for a good screw / unscrew tool that would save on RSI when faced with a lot of screws. Maybe Wiha got the marketting wrong; that being said, the SpeedE II looks like it does address a lot of concerns about torque and grunt. For me, the SpeedE met my occasional requirements for a good screw / unscrew tool that would save on RSI when faced with a lot of screws. I knew (from the American Wiha site) that it did not have power for undoing tight screws, but it was great for lots of repetitive work. It will tighten up screws to about 0.4 Nm, after that good wrist power is needed. It has a useful LED light to illuminate your immediate work.It also fitted in well with my existing collection of manual Wiha slimbit drivers, including the Stubby, Slimvario, and the 38611 six-bit screwdriver. Between them I had enough variety, and slimbit sizes, for many jobs I encounter and the ability to get into tight spots. The SpeedE added a welcome degree of comfort when faced with a lot of screw-in, screw-out work and or when swapping between slotted, pozi or phillips screws or when faced with a mix of sizes. That being said, when I'm "just" faced with a few screws then I revert to manual rather than unpack the SpeedE.Overall it is an expensive tool and it does lack the power / torque that many sparks want and expect. I've not had any problems with mine, but I've heard of some issues with the rubber grommet seal. I obtained spares from Wiha, and apply a bit of light grease to ease the bits in & out. It comes with two batteries and a charger, mine came in a neat L-Boxx which also holds some of my spare bits.

Comes in a very sturdy case keeping it all safe when being stored. The screw driver is built solid and the bits slide in to the very strong holder. The bits are to the same high quality as the rest of the Wiha screwdriver bits. For my job (fire systems engineer) it is perfect as some of the terminations are in tight enclosures, with thumb and finger operation of the powered part it easily tightens the termination. We also train engineers, and once a week I have to strip down all our training fire system rigs (over 320 terminal screws), the SpeedE makes this an absolute doddle, and has saved me hours since I got it.It’s just like a normal screw driver in size and weight. The SpeedE isn't a gimmick like I first thought, its good for those jobs where torque isn't required i.e. long face-plate screws. It fits nicely in the hand, the small light is useful and the rotation button easy to use. The slim bits fits nicely within the SpeedE however I do recommend putting a little grease on the fitting end, this will stop the o-ring being pulled out when removing the slim bit.I have been having problems with the driver not working, but the light coming on, or the motor being stuck on. Yes, I have tried both batteries that are fully charged, .The carry case is nice but not what I would carry around on site, a small pouch that I can clip to myself with the ability to store the slim bits would be better.I would like to see more torque or ... MoreThe SpeedE isn't a gimmick like I first thought, its good for those jobs where torque isn't required i.e. long face-plate screws. It fits nicely in the hand, the small light is useful and the rotation button easy to use. This tool has a very specific use, it is for electrical accessories and terminal screws. It is not designed to screw into wood or rawl plugs etc. The low torque account for this.Right, now that’s out the way. This is great for repetitive working, to prevent strain on hands and wrists. Not so great for small or one off jobs as the benefits don’t shine through in short duration working. The battery lasts long enough and charging overnight is fine. It has a usb charger so can be left in the van to charge if needed. As it’s the 1st version there are some changes needed to improve it;1. Torque settings - there are none. It would be ideal to have 2 or 3 standard torque settings to suit accessories and MCBs/RCBOs.2. Speed settings - again none, long accessory screws ... MoreThis tool has a very specific use, it is for electrical accessories and terminal screws. Speed settings - again none, long accessory screws do take a long time so 2 speeds would be great.3. The switch position does not suit everyone (at least not me!) if it were further down the handle it would suit my larger hands, or, if Wiha introduced a ‘push to activate’ that would be kinda cool. The price is somewhat high, the R&D and VDE properties will no doubt contribute to this.If it were half the price I could see it flying off the shelves. All in all, a good product with a fairly specific job. Some modifications needed to make it great.

A review for Wiha speedE

I purchased my speede a couple of years ago, I'm glad I did.Such an improvement on labour and time, more noticeably when second fixing or doing eicrs. You remain in full control of the screwdriver, still able to use feel to ascertain the tightness of terminals.I purchased the set with the torque bits, which although are not used on every job, when they are they are reliable and simple to use.Customer service from wiha is second to none, I had some issues with my first 2 drivers and these were replaced, when I lost the o ring from the end, the sales manager, Tony sent more out to me straight away. The light on the driver is a nice touch, especially in dull or dark areas. This is one tool in my bag I couldn't manage without now.
