I've had many different brands of canned mackerel, but this is my first time using Wild Planet mackerel. These pretty much taste just like the other quality canned mackerel brands I've tried, so they taste delicious! Not fishy at all and doesn't have a weird aftertaste like Wild Planet Sardines always have. I hope they come out with other flavors by adding ingredients like jalapeno, chili pepper, etc.

I really like Wild Planet's Wild Mackerel. I'm not a huge fan of sardines and try to limit my tuna, and this mackerel is a great alternative. And it's boneless! It's a flavorful oily fish, packed in EVOO, great with greens or even eggs. I also like that the tin lining is BPA free and appreciate Wild Planet's commitment to sustainable fishing practices.
I would rather eat wild mackerel over sardines any day. These are tasty just as they are, out of the can! I really appreciate the wild sourcing of these mackerels. If you've never tried mackerel, give it a shot -- you might find them addictive!
delicious mackerel hunks in oil! i choose to drain out most of the oil and this leaves the fish in nice-sized filets, but not overly oiled, but not all dried out either. it has just the right amount of salt in the can. i make a big salad and toss these in at the end for a good source of protein, for a healthy lunch. i eat other Wild Planet canned items and they never disappoint - highly recommend, it is a nice change from canned tuna or canned sardines!
