WTMK has a very inviting nose of nuts malt and chocolate. Rich golden brown color with waves of flavors each rolling distinctly by as you hold the creamy liquid on your tongue. I tasted caramel, rye spice, vanilla and then bang, medicine. As fast as the medicine comes it vanishes leaving a sweet floral finish. OK, I figured WTMK just needs some air time to clear the medicine slap........ One hour later........... A little less medicine but unfortunately less of the good stuff also. All the flavors muted and some mustiness appeared. Next I tried a few drops of water. This brought out some graphite flavor but didn't really help. WTMK is just not working for me and the premium price is just not earned. This is a very good bourbon. It is different from the standard wild turkey. On line, you can read the history on the barrels that produce the product. It is a interesting study on the effect of aging on flavor profile. Even though the ABV is 43% it is cask strength. On the nose caramel, vanilla, oak. When tasting the favors are very balanced and the alcohol well integrated. I only wish the favors were more pronounced.

Not nearly as Oaked as I expected for 17 yrs in an alligator charred barrel. It takes wild turkey and Russells reserve to the next level!
