After using the 8ft 3/4" and 1" for many years I changed to a 10' 1". The knots and lead positions appear to have changed and are much looser - leads get caught up and tears holes in the mono on casting, pocket support rope rips through the net and metal rope swivel gets caught up in the upper net nowFrustrating as my nets last on average several years of regular use normally and this one only a couple months before being beyond repair

10ft was too big 8ft doesn't have enough drop. my new 9ft is noticeably lighter when wet, especially after several cast in a row, has good spread and so far I'm happy with how strong the cord and panels have been. The net has stayed together, no tears after a month of good use. Ive had a few scetchey bait lunges, felt the net get slightly snagged, but have been able to get all the net back. Here's hoping its a new Wilson build quality control thing they have recently adopted, as my others in the past didn't seem to be as durable

Good net. Throws well. Would like to see a better quality rope on it, more like a poly cord, something less stiff than what is on there.

I was skeptical about using a nylon net as I've heard that they are heavier than the mono when wet, and that is 100% correct. The first throw with the net is the easiest and better than a mono; however it does become difficult for each throw after it's wet.I have noticed however that with the right technique, you can throw the net better than a mono even after it's wet. I'd reccommend as a backup net until you get a grasp on what a good throw is; but if this is your first net, I'd suggest mono.
Purchased this cast net (my first after moving to Qld from Vic where they're not allowed) with top pocked to try and catch some prawns and it hasn't disappointed! First day i used it after a dozen or so throws of the net i had more than enough mullet and prawns to use for my days fishing. Unfortunately i also managed to snag the net in the mangroves and tore a small 10cm hole in it. It didn't seem to affect performance as I still caught plenty of fish on subsequent casts, but i fixed it fairly easily with some spare line i had.
This net is the worst net I've ever used. The sinkers around the bottom of net are getting tangled in other pockets every second cast. More time spent threading sinkers back out of pockets. I'll use this net around rocks now as I'm not concerned about it getting damaged until it dies.
Me n mate buy 2 top pocket 12ft net and go prawning the next day. After few cast both 2 net were tear off completely. Disappointed bout the quality of the net. Wont buy it again
Good quality top pocket cast net from Willson . Very reasonably priced , works well . Easy to cast and made well. Itβs a must have for any fisherman and great for prawning .
I have had this net for a few months now and use it almost every day. I was sceptical about getting another one due to the past issues with these nets. I am pleased to say that Wilson have done a great job fixing the past faults and I am very happy with this one. This size is perfect for my usage from sandy banks to mangroves, even catches smallish prawns.
Works well, good filament that does not tangle and is tough as nails. My only advice, is if this is your first time using a cast net, it may be easier to learn with a smaller diameter, than 8ft.
