Great ball for outdoor use. I've had it for about a month now, using on my asphalt driveway a few times a week to shoot around and dribble. It has maintained great grip and active "bounce", for a comparible feel to an evolution on an indoor floor. Usually these outdoor balls can feel dead and loose grip fast when exposed to dirt and being spun on asphalt, etc. In the past ive preferred the wave for outdoors because the ridges still give you some control when the material deteriorates. So far this ball is holding up great though, would definitely recommend.

Wilson's Indoor/outdoor NBA Authentic basketball looks and feels great right out of the box. The ball arrived perfectly inflated. On the outdoor court, the feel and grip get even better after some use. Yet the ball is showing little or no wear after a couple weeks of playing with almost daily. I haven't played with it indoors yet, but it seems like it would be great for the gym too. This is definitely a huge upgrade from my previous indoor/outdoor ball (not Wilson brand) that was slick, had seams coming apart and inflation seemed to drastically change when playing in hot or cool weather. This Wilson ball is a high-quality item that should last a long time. It would also look great to display or get autographed.

Good ball but it has a very different feel than the Evolution or an EVO NXT. So if you think you're just getting an Evolution with the NBA logo you'd be incorrect. This ball is meant to simulate the feel of the leather game ball so it is not as soft as the Evolution. It is also heavier, like a real leather ball is compared to an Evolution. It also needs a little break in like a real leather ball, so the first play or two it will feel slick. After that the grip improves drastically. Overall I like the ball, but I also like the feel of a good broken in leather ball. Most people nowadays have probably never played with anything but an Evolution (it definitely is the "pick up" ball of choice) so very possible some will not like this ball. Good, not great basketball. Billed as indoor/outdoor, and it is. It's a bit stiff/hard for my liking for playing indoors on wood, especially compared to a popular ball like the Evo. That said, it's perfectly fine for indoors. Where this ball shines is on a good outdoor court with a breakaway rim. This ball is not great on double rims. Those rims are as unforgiving as can be. So a harder ball, like this one, bounces off even harder. It dribbles true, feels good. My son likes it too.
Authentic NBA in-game basketballs can be expensive. This ball provides a very cost-effective way to have that in-game NBA ball performance and feel at a fraction of the price. While not having the same overall texture and feel of the authentic ball, the bounce was incredibly true straight out of the box. The ball holds air well and haven't yet needed to add air. While trying to replicate the feel of an authentic, this ball can feel a little "outdoor" at first until broken in. As the ball has started to break-in more, the feel has gotten better and better. So be prepared for an initial break-in period to get the full benefit of feel for the ball. Overall, a great performing basketball for the money and price-point!
Indoor play, the ball had a lot of grip typical of an outdoor ball. The indoor play was a bit tacky but still grip was the issue. Outdoor the ball held up for great play. As with any outdoor ball, the grip was dependent upon the moisture of your grip. Obviously, the more you play with the ball outdoor the life degraded. Indoor play only will prolong the life of the ball. If you play as much as I do, you will be able to tell the difference with this ball as compared to the Evolution.
Bought this ball, Forge Plus, thinking it would be one of the best new balls for outdoor play.I thought it would be equivalent to Spaldings Z/io, which was a great bball. I thought since I like wilson evo for indoor that the Forge Plus would be a really nice ball. Bought 3, Grey, Blue and Green. Now Im stuck with 3 balls that feel like the neverflat. We all know never flat is a horrible ball! However, The feel to ball is excellent! The Bounce sucks, sounds like the ball is too inflated, yet doesn't bounce as high as it sounds.
The basketball arrived under inflated. This was a disappointment since it was a Christmas present. We aired it up and it will not hold air. Contacted Wilson & it was replaced under warranty. However, the process was not easy. I had to send photos THEN reorder on my own. Not sure why they couldn’t just send a new one. Actually, this was the 2nd time I had to reorder. The first time, I was supposed to get 2 basketballs & they sent 1. This has been a hassle. Wish I hadn’t ordered online. Who knows when the replacement will arrive??
I really like the grip on this basketball. I have used it for about 2 weeks now ( about 5 times) on a black top surface. The grip is still good. The ball has not shown much wear yet, which is good compared to other balls i have used on the same surface. The only negative about the ball, is that it seems a little heavier than most indoor/outdoor balls that i have used in the past. In fact other people that i played with said the same thing, and that was without me mentioning it.Overall, i am very pleased with the ball.
The NBA had switched from using Spalding basketballs to Wilson Basketballs in 2021. The NBA used Spalding balls for 40 years up until the Spalding company failed to renew their contract. As I mentioned earlier, Wilson balls have a rubber interior which makes the ball vulnerable to damages. For that reason, Wilson balls are labeled as an indoor only basketball unlike Spalding balls which have the durability and quality to be considered both indoor and outdoor balls.Wilson balls may have caused the low-performance rates to increase during the NBA season. Many NBA players such as Paul George had claimed that the new Wilson basketball had negatively affected his shooting performance. Paul George had claimed that "it doesn’t have the same touch and softness that the Spalding ball had" (source 2) due to the ball's grip and texture. In conclusion, I believe that the new Wilson balls are much worse compared to the Spalding balls. The NBA should have continued using Spalding balls as they were doing for 40 years. Some even say Wilson balls are to blame for the poor NBA performances we had last year.
