I bought this as a replacement for another Wilson basketball that had a bad valve. Customer service was pretty good as they helped with the replacement. Unfortunately, this Forge basketball came with defects and the only option is to return for another replacement. Seems wrong to replace yet another Wilson basketball. My daughter is conflicted to have it replaced and wait another for weeks for a basketball at which her season will be more than 50% over or just use it as is. I'm not sure what happened but as you can see in the photos,the adhesive seems irregular and the "skin" of the ball has weird wrinkles in it.

Great ball for outdoor use. I've had it for about a month now, using on my asphalt driveway a few times a week to shoot around and dribble. It has maintained great grip and active "bounce", for a comparible feel to an evolution on an indoor floor. Usually these outdoor balls can feel dead and loose grip fast when exposed to dirt and being spun on asphalt, etc. In the past ive preferred the wave for outdoors because the ridges still give you some control when the material deteriorates. So far this ball is holding up great though, would definitely recommend.

Wilson's Indoor/outdoor NBA Authentic basketball looks and feels great right out of the box. The ball arrived perfectly inflated. On the outdoor court, the feel and grip get even better after some use. Yet the ball is showing little or no wear after a couple weeks of playing with almost daily. I haven't played with it indoors yet, but it seems like it would be great for the gym too. This is definitely a huge upgrade from my previous indoor/outdoor ball (not Wilson brand) that was slick, had seams coming apart and inflation seemed to drastically change when playing in hot or cool weather. This Wilson ball is a high-quality item that should last a long time. It would also look great to display or get autographed.

Indoor play, the ball had a lot of grip typical of an outdoor ball. The indoor play was a bit tacky but still grip was the issue. Outdoor the ball held up for great play. As with any outdoor ball, the grip was dependent upon the moisture of your grip. Obviously, the more you play with the ball outdoor the life degraded. Indoor play only will prolong the life of the ball. If you play as much as I do, you will be able to tell the difference with this ball as compared to the Evolution.
This ball doesn’t have the pillowy softness of a Wilson Evolution, but it feels nice to the touch. I have this ball categorized as an upper tier outdoor basketball. It’s best used on a dry, clean court.This basketball feels premium for an outdoor ball. The price point is appropriate. It has shape and hardness similarities to the official NBA game ball, but if you truly want the NBA experience you’d have to look for that ball.This ball appears to be durable even on rough, abrasive concrete.The craftsmanship of this ball is very good. The bounce is nice as well.I don’t believe you will regret purchasing this basketball.
The Wilson Forge PRO is the best mid-price range composite leather ball I have ever tried. I give it a 10 out of 10 score in Grip and Control (both the channel construction and the grippy feel of the cover are almost on par with a broken-in professional leather ball) and a 9 out of 10 score in Bounce, which is very true and predictable but seemed to be slightly less responsive on a wooden indoor surface. I tried this ball indoors under very hot and humid conditions and found that it really helped my passing and shooting, and also outdoors on a well maintained asphalt court which produced zero erosion to the cover. I switched to the Wilson Forge PRO from a Wilson NCAA composite replica ball and have to say that the Forge PRO edges out the NCAA on every relevant attribute. My only small gripe design-wise is that the UPC code that Wilson uses to identify their balls could have gone near the inflation valve instead of by the logo. Kudos to Wilson for delivering the Forge PRO precisely inflated and ready for play out of the box.
The basketball arrived under inflated. This was a disappointment since it was a Christmas present. We aired it up and it will not hold air. Contacted Wilson & it was replaced under warranty. However, the process was not easy. I had to send photos THEN reorder on my own. Not sure why they couldn’t just send a new one. Actually, this was the 2nd time I had to reorder. The first time, I was supposed to get 2 basketballs & they sent 1. This has been a hassle. Wish I hadn’t ordered online. Who knows when the replacement will arrive??
I really like the grip on this basketball. I have used it for about 2 weeks now ( about 5 times) on a black top surface. The grip is still good. The ball has not shown much wear yet, which is good compared to other balls i have used on the same surface.The only negative about the ball, is that it seems a little heavier than most indoor/outdoor balls that i have used in the past. In fact other people that i played with said the same thing, and that was without me mentioning it.Overall, i am very pleased with the ball.
I hadn’t touched a basketball in years & forgot how light they were. Unless the Spalding basketballs were made heavy, the Wilson’s are very light. Feels like could throw them for miles. The grip is excellent too. Much better than Spalding. The NBA made a great decision to go back to their original ball manufacturer!
