Solid, but I much prefer the old fashioned solid dudes with cast in bendable wires. The long shank doesn't seem to offer any great advantage. The end of the eye is sometimes rough and can be just wide enough gap to pinch your leader. On the plus side, the wires do seem to pop off and weedy snags so you can at least stand more chance to retrieve your tackle. If the wires get a bit loose, an elastic band or a few wraps of elasticated cotton holds them back just enough to still work.

They are great to use and very rarely have a defect but when they do it's usually a shallow groove for the wire so it doesn't stay in
