Winix AUS-0850AAPU Compact 4 Stage Air Purifier

We bought this as a result of our 'nesting' instinct a month before our first child was due. Other than our excitement was greater than setting up the nursery theme, we were incredibly happy with how fresh the air seemed after only a few hours of running the purifier. We were not disturbed by the noise it made, in fact we found the slight hum to be somewhat comforting - no louder than a diffuser.I was surprised how large the product was, and was glad we went with this model as opposed to the model up - we wanted the ability to move it around the house. The design is simple and modern, fits in any room, and does not take up too much space. I do wish the cord was longer to enable us to move around the house more freely, but I think we work out a routine here.

A fantastic purchase

My first air purifier, I bought as a tool for our COVID prep kit but daily use has been surprisingly beneficial. I wake with less sinus issues each morning, its fantastic. Night mode is super quiet, you wouldn't even know it was on. Easy to set up, easy to use. Definitely recommend

Does a great job

Very happy with this Winix air purifier. The air quality is noticeably improved and we don't have the issues with coughing and sneezing that we used to have. It's reassuring to know the HEPA filter is doing its thing. I bought another one for our pregnant daughter and she's really pleased with it.

Doesn't filter peppermint

I have this product plus another Winix product (zero+ pro 5). This compact version just doesn't detect poor air quality. The sensor stays as blue the whole time. Like I've never seen it not be blue, even when I've had smoke or deodorant right next to it. And even when I am having breathing problems. Whereas in these same situations, the pro 5 is detecting orange or even red (dirty) air. As a concept, this product is fine, but it doesn't actually work.

Exactly what I was after

I'm am extremely happy with this Air Purifier. It has already assisted breathing problems at night and peace of mind with removing moulds and dust that cause allergies. It is very quiet and night mode means I can leave it on all night. Light and small enough to move from room to room with me or even take away with me on holidays. Only issue I have found so far is that the Night Mode light is still too bright for me, but I fixed easily by covering with black tape. Looks like simple regular maintenance with vacuum cleaner and annual filter replacement. You can sign up to a subscription for filters, at a discount directly with Winix.

Excellent unit.

I bought two Winix compact air purifiers for use in the bedrooms.The idea was to reduce the pollens from the rooms therefore enablingall to have quality sleep uninterrupted from sneezing.This has previously compromised my sleep.The units have had a positive outcome, and I wake up refreshed in the morning, without any loss of sleep though sneezing.A great buy!

Great air purifier!

I bought 2 of these - one for home and one for my office. I was particularly picky and wanted hospital grade filters as I work in a pathology lab. They are great! Quiet, efficient, and I really like the shape. They aren’t huge but they aren’t tiny either. Literally the perfect size for a small to medium room. And the price was much better then I was expecting. So win win! I highly recommend the Winix purifier.

Great little purifier

I bought this because in my unit there is no provision for an extraction fan anywhere, and when using the air fryer or just cooking the smoke and fumes hang around too long. This unit ramps up very quickly when I've been cooking and removes the fumes. But it doesn't actually remove cooking smells or any other odours. It's reasonably quiet and I like the night function. I noticed one day that there were no dust mites showing in the sunlight beams, so that's a positive, and when the vacuum cleaner is on it ramps up a level too. I'm not sure why it ramps up intermittently during the day, maybe it's sensing something I can't see or smell. But overall it seems pretty good and I'm happy with it.

What a relief to have clean air circulating

As a teacher in a small classroom of adults, I am thrilled to turn on the air purifier and not hear anything mechanical. I can feel the air moving around it and I’m reassured the light is always blue. The air does feel cleaner. That has given me confidence to be able to close the door when there’s too much noise in the corridor and lowered my stress levels considerably! It is lightweight enough to move from classroom to classroom with me and I’m extremely glad I bought it. Thank you.

Winix Compact 4 Stage Air Purifier

Been using my Winix 4 stage for a few weeks now and I’m very impressed. It’s quiet in sleep mode and what little sound it makes is rather relaxing. The fan spins satisfyingly smoothly and the overall built of the unit is great. The auto mode does it’s thing and is quick to kick into action clearing the air of any pollutants. It’s especially good at neutralising air removing cooking odours. I did a lot of research before purchasing an air purifier and I’m glad I chose this unit. It works wonderfully and aesthetically looks great too.
