Windsor Newton oil paints offer vibrant pigments, rich textures, and blendability. They're easily thinned with some liquin or oil, and they're super simple to work with. Use liquin to quicken drying time and oil to prolongue it. I prefer the "hues" for more transparent washes over textures. They spread nicely without muddying details. Although, lighter colors can wash out black. The metallic packaging is durable yet flexible enough to get every last drop of paint. Really, really love this brand.

I love these alkyd oil colours for several reasons, especially their rich pigments and buttery texture, and the faster drying time allowing glazes to be applied in a shorter time frame. This also helps when painting on a metal base such as aluminium or copper.I find the colours true to classical oil paint tones. They are reasonably priced and packed in card boxes with no extra plastic waste. Very pleased with them.

The Winsor Newton oil paint products I have used mix well for color blending and spread under the palette knife or brush for the desirable effects as I work over my canvas. The colors do not bleed or become patchy. By comparison with other products I have used, there is less unwanted odor. The paint loads well for thin or thick application. The 200 ml tube is a great money value over smaller tube quantities. Michaels' advantageous rewards & coupons not only make it more affordable for my purchase power, with appreciation that the store is stocked in a way that offers wide and adequate selection.

[Rewarded Review] An artist must have pigment.

Cerulean blue, in conjunction with ultramarine blue, represent both the warm and cool temperatures in most of my paintings. They both also mix well with Winsor Newton's soft mixing white for holding those warm and cool moments. It's interesting how luminosity, when used naturally in the theme of your painting, can intensify the emotions. Cerulean blue is a must in a painting wanting emotion. Windsor and Newton have created an exceptional product.

[Rewarded Review] Best Oil Paint EVER!
24 June 2023

I was first introduced to oil painting during my Painting 1 class this semester. The university provided us with basic painting supplies from Blick. Due to my lack of experience with oil paint, I thought the basic student paints we were given, worked well. However once I started using the Windsor & Newton brand, my painting skills increased significantly. I realized that I wasn’t getting the effects I wanted with my paintings due to the quality of the cheaper Blick paint. But the Windsor & Newton paint is so smooth and creamy. It also dilutes easily with safflower oil. I would definitely recommend purchasing this paint.

Windsor and Newton is the finest oil paints for professional artists. Each tube is generously filled with the true to color pigment. This shade of pthalo blue is incredible even in the smallest of applications, a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this company of paints for beginners all the way to active professionals - they do not discriminate! Enjoy the journey of oil paints with Windsor and newton.

The high pigment load provides excellent coverage and allows for intricate details. The paint dries at a convenient pace for layering and blending, and it maintains its vibrancy over time. Overall, it's a top choice for artists of all levels due to its quality, versatility, and affordability.

[Rewarded Review] Winton Tier Offers a Fantastic Product
31 January 2023

For being a non-professional tier (it says it's for amateur artists and students, I believe) these paints have fantastic pigment quality, and offer a great consistency. They easily allow me to do wide, sweeping strokes with large horsehair brushes, tiny detail work with sable brushes, or even layouts/texturing with pallette knives. I started using this brand in art school (simply because it was on my materials list) and honestly, after trying other brands, Windsor & Newton is still my personal favorite, and the Winton series is much nicer on my wallet. :)

great value
19 December 2023

Very happy with the correct items delivered efficiently. The only thing I would love to see improved is to ship goods without plastic packaging. Other art suppliers are achieving this very well in secure recycled cardboard boxes and there are great alternatives for biodegradable/compostable cushioning and protection available now which I would love to see used by all businesses. We all need to make an effort. Thanks for your great service and quality products
