Start applying the lighter colors, gradually adding the darkest ones. Slightly lean the paper towards you and remove the water excess from the bottom side of the painted zones with a cloth or wet brush. Try to use the edge of the paint brush instead of the tip for covering the paper quicker. Prepare more gouache than you are going to need in each phase. Have a piece of paper ready to check the colors before applying them and also for checking how do they look once they dry. Work quickly so the paint does not dry while you apply it and use the largest paintbrush that you think you can handle.
