Google home tells me to get a code from the Wiz app. All the while the bulb just pulsates. The Wiz support refers to a non existent settings menu in the app. Buy a Phillips or TP link for a few extra dollars to avoid the frustration.

Bought this for use as a bulb in my study. Perfect for changing from task oriented lighting to relaxing mood lighting. Very good value for money vs Philips Hue. Bought a G95 at the same time and will be testing that out in the near future. Initial connection to home network a little tetchy but since then, all good.

I have these lights throughout my home and love them. Do yourself a favour - ignore setup instructions elsewhere and go straight to the Wiz Connected webpage. Setup instructions are found on the support tab. Once you get the first bulb set up, all others are a breeze. We use Siri to switch them on and off. I use the bright setting for reading, and cosy for ambient light. The colour bulbs which Bunnings no longer sell are superb. Far cheaper than other brands and do the job.
I bought this filament smart bulb to use on an open lamp (without a shade). It looks great and setting it up was actually easier than other bulbs I've tried. I used the 'Connect SmartHome' app to set it up since I already have it setup for my other smart bulbs from other brands such as 'Connect', 'Laser', 'Lenovo' etc. (As these are all using Tuya platform, most Tuya based apps would work for these). It integrates well with Google Home. Brightness can be adjusted and highest brightness setting is not as bright, and the lowest setting is low enough it doesn't hurt your eyes.As mentioned by the other reviewer, These bulbs do require 2.4GHz WiFi and does not play well with Band Steering enabled WiFi (Using same WiFi SSID for both 2.4 and 5Ghz bands) in the router. ... MoreI bought this filament smart bulb to use on an open lamp (without a shade). And it's the same case for most other smart bulbs I own. I personally have my WiFi setup without band steering mode which gives you 2 separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5Ghz and found it to be working best with all my smart devices.
Although these lights to look great they can be a total pain in the Butt to connect. I purchased two of these. During installation they both did automatic firmware upgrades. One took little time at all but the second one failed badly. It took literally hours to get it reset and connected and the WiFi on it is very weak. WiZ support was totally useless and of no help at all. After I eventually got the light working, Wiz got back to me 4-5 days after I first contacted them. The only reason the lights get a 2 instead of a 1 is because one did work fine and they do look good. WiZ support gets a 0.
I bought this globe before reading reviews. I initially struggled to connect the device to my wifi, however you can youtube a trick to get it to work. Basically you walk as far away from the modem as you can to get 1 signal bar, turn your phone on aeroplane mode then turn the wifi on and off and then try to connect the globe. This distance forces the modem to use the inbuilt 2GHz frequency which WIZ products need.
Pros: Absolutely love it, amazing! All my friends, so impressed too. So many different lighting options so clever, and all controllable from my phone. Brilliant!Cons: No.
Very difficult to setup. Needs a 2ghz wifi to be setup as these days most routers are configured with 2 and 5ghz on same ssid. Even then quite hard to pair. But the big issue is after pairing the bulb works fine until you turn it off in the app. Then immediately the app says lost contact with bulb check wifi. The wifi signal was full strength. Tried 3 times before returning. Don’t recommend at all. Real shame because it looks very nice.
Very difficult to set up. Worked for a few months before some of the filaments failed. It’s now in the bin. Complete and utter waste of money. Would give it zero stars if I could.
