Milk substitute for alpaca and llama. Use for orphaned cria or when mother’s milk is limited. Alpaca milk is relatively high in protein and low in fat. This high protein milk sustains the rapid growth rate of cria without depositing excess body fat. The protein is rich in sulphur containing amino acids (eg cysteine) to promote good fleece condition. Cria should not be fed a high fat milk (eg lamb milk replacer) as this may lead to excessive weight gain and problems with skeletal development.
