Women's ASICS Gel-Kayano 27 (White/Pure Silver)
Enjoy excellent comfort and advanced support with the GEL-KAYANO 27 running shoe. The redesigned mesh upper helps keep feet cool, while the sole is more flexible to help promote a more natural roll through the gait cycle. This process starts in the heel with added flex grooves that isolate the initial impact to force a softer and smoother feeling at footstrike. At midstance, the foot should stop pronating and re-supinate for an efficient toe-off. This shoe also incorporates DYNAMIC DUOMAX technology to help support the foot and increase stability for runners whose feet roll inward too much (overpronate). The midsole integrates SPACE TRUSSTIC technology, which provides stability and reduces the overall weight to help promote a smoother transition from footstrike to toe-off. This added stability is complemented by deeper forefoot flex grooves that create a smoother roll through toe-off, allowing the shoe to move more naturally with the foot. Lastly, a large section of reflective materials in the rearfoot helps keep runners visible when running in low-light conditions. The GEL-KAYANO 27 model is an excellent choice for both competitive and non-competitive runners looking for an everyday trainer that combines comfort with support.

After reading the reviews, I still took a chance and ordered this year's Gel-Kayano.I have run 4 marathons and about 35 half marathons, plus a bunch of 5 and 10k's with my family. This has been my shoe for about 15 years, so I was reluctant to change even after the bad reviews. On the first couple of runs, I didn't feel great as the shoe seemed a bit stiff. I felt worried that I was going to have to find an entirely new shoe, but after that, the shoes loosened up and they work well. I am training for a half marathon in Sept. & running about 25 miles a week right now and plan to increase the miles in the coming months and I feel confident these will get me through. I used to buy my new pair of Kayanos exclusively before a race (the ones I trained in being used up!) ... MoreAfter reading the reviews, I still took a chance and ordered this year's Gel-Kayano.I have run 4 marathons and about 35 half marathons, plus a bunch of 5 and 10k's with my family. I used to buy my new pair of Kayanos exclusively before a race (the ones I trained in being used up!) and take them out of the box just before the race. As of now, I will probably buy new ones a few weeks before the race to break them in. I wear a size 7 shoe, but always size up for running, I buy 8's for half-marathon training, and I will go up to 8.5 if I am training for a marathon. Most people know that your feet swell when you run, so they have to be kind of loose when you first head out the door. As other reviewers have stated, this model does feel a bit snug for being a whole size up, but it isn't the shoe bed that is snug, it is the top of the foot, just don't tie them as tightly as you normally would. Overall, I am glad I kept the faith and stuck with my favorite shoe, it is a bit different, but still the same quality I have relied on for years.

Del Kayanos normally run like a dream (have run in them for nearly 20yrs), but the 27s have far too narrow a toe box, and are much shorter than they used to be. Would need to go up 1.5 sizing and to D minimum width. I have narrow heels but my toe alignment is healing/straightening after a year mostly without shoes in lockdown. Regardless, the 27s pinched my toe/feet bones nearly on top of each other, which the 26s don't do at all. However, I recently found out also that my last set of Del Kayanos (26s) eventually gave me an allergy to colophony/rosin, which rubbed off the label inside the tongue and off the brand name print on the top side of the insole. This means I have a square-ish rash on the front of each ankle the exact size and placement of those labels ... MoreDel Kayanos normally run like a dream (have run in them for nearly 20yrs), but the 27s have far too narrow a toe box, and are much shorter than they used to be. This means I have a square-ish rash on the front of each ankle the exact size and placement of those labels which I'm struggling to heal. This also means I can barely wear ANY shoes now of ANY make/model (ever again) - I'm having a very hard time finding any that are safe (and that makes me also now allergic to most toilet paper, newsprint, books, wrapping paper, magazines, dental floss, etc etc.). Apparently the 27s include even more colophony/rosin in their construction than the 26s, so are even less safe, so I had to return them.Love the Del Kayano legacy, but the model is definitely taking a turn for the worse fit wise, and the Asics Restricted Substance List limitations just aren't remotely safe enough. Currently around 1% of the general population are allergic to colophony rosin like I am. Del Kayanos might well be increasing that percentage.

Purchased these during pregnancy because my doctor PT said it may help with some pain I was experiencing to get inserts or shoes that help support flat/pronating feet. Such a great purchase!I know they will continue to be great after the baby is born, but was thrilled to have them now as well. Comfortable and light weight. Definitely felt odd at first feeling my feet angle a different direction than usual, but such a game changer on the knees, hips, and low back.Use them to take the dog for long walks, or just to wear around if I know I'll be standing/walking a lot.

My daughter is a 3 mile and under jogger. She needs to keep in shape as she is in the military but honestly hates jogging. She sprained / twisted both her ankles - at different times and as advised by a podiatrist - she needs shoes with support/cushion. We have tried different brands/asics models, the kayano suits her the best. She said since she has to jog/run the shoes need to have great colors as well as support her feet/ankles. I realize it sounds odd to include ankles, she said for her due to the support in the shoe there is minimal pressure she feels in her ankle when the foot strikes. So each year we try out the Kayano model to make sure it’s the one, last 3 years it has been the best choice.
I went onto ASICS for a good pair of trainers for starting at the gym as the next part of my rehabilitation from several spinal surgeries. I had spent several days looking at recommendation websites and ASICS often scored top 5 on multiple of these for comfort, support and movement. Upon deciding on ASICS, I visited their website and found their recommendation quiz to try and it gave me the GEL-KAYANO 27 trainers. If I had more time, I would have liked to visit an ASICS store to be helped in person but all things considered this quiz gave me a good match. I got a 10% student discount through StudentBeans and I went through with ordering. I ordered a size 5 in French Blue/Champagne color for the Women's Gel Kayano 27. I got a 10% student discount through StudentBeans and I went through with ordering. I ordered a size 5 in French Blue/Champagne color for the Women's Gel Kayano 27. Shipping took longer than expected but I assume and understand this to be due to covid. The shoes arrived and were true to size. I noticed a very snug feeling and a different feel due to actually being supported. I have narrow feet with very high arches, I also tend to walk with overpronation and very flat-footedly. So far, I have not walked far in these shoes but have worn them as indoor shoes for the gym. I noticed to start with that my feet/soles would get quite hot after 20-30 mins doing mostly cardio activities, but I feel this is just an adjustment on my part from not having done exercise like that in years. I haven't had the shoes long, but so far I really like their look, I feel very supported in my feet and less likely to fall over (which I am also very good at). If my opinion changes in future or I experience any difficulties I would be happy to review my statement here.
I purchased 3 pair of ASICS gel-kayano 27 a few weeks ago. They don’t all fit the same. They are all size 7. The pair that fits my foot comfortably and prevents my pronation is the “Mako blue/Hot pink” pair. The box says it is made in Indonisia. My heel is comfortably seated and when I walk or run my foot is guided in the proper movement. The other pair is the “French blue/Champagne” pair. It is tighter in the toe area and squishes the toes together, not enough room, the heel area feels narrower and my foot does not sit comfortably - I can only wear them for 2 hours max in the house and then need to take them off. When you email them you receive an automatic reply that they are making some system changes and someone will eventually look at my inquiry. How can the same shoes in 3 different colours fit so differently. No more ASICS for me. Now I need to research this pronation issue all over again. The third pair is the
I’m pretty in love with these shoes. This is my 4th or 5th pair. The only negative I can think of is….1… they wear down relatively quick. They’re like a cloud of glory when you first get them but that cloud starts to flatten out just a touch after the first couple of weeks if you wear them constantly and then by month 3 or 4 I feel like they’re done and I need a new pair. I just bought 2 sets so I can have one for wearing every day and 1 set just for working out. The other bummer is that the colors get INSANE and it’s hard to pick something I’m not embarrassed to wear in public. The rose gold ones got complements DAILY… no joke. People would stop and ask me where I got my kicks all the time. Once they discontinued those… it’s been harder to find more neutral colors. ... MoreI’m pretty in love with these shoes. I've had ASICS Gel-Cumulus 17 for 5+ years and have loved those shoes. When I read reviews about the newer Cumulus, the new ones seemed to run narrow. I have a medium/wide foot size 8.5. I tried the ASICS Gel-Kayano 27 because the reviews seemed to be true to size. Nope. At first they seemed like they fit and just needed to break in. I went for a walk outside and my toes were tingling numb. I am so disappointed. They are too tight to feel comfortable. The shoelaces are very thin material and are much shorter compared to my other ones. I regret giving these a try outside because now I can't return them.
These are surprisingly fantastic shoes! "Shoes" are such a underwhelming noun for how I feel about these actually...maybe training enhancement equipment instead? I feel perfectly balanced, I haven't had foot, shin or knee pain at all since wearing these during my various morning training routines, and my performance times and resistance abilities instantly improved. I actually put a survey out to my friends (distance runner, cross fit fanatics, weight loss devotees, etc.) prior to purchase, as I was a die hard Under Armour fan for many years, and the vast majority rule was ASICS. I mean, it was a landslide! I am very grateful for their recommendations and I (and my aging body) are especially grateful to ASICS. I've been wearing the Kayano for years and years. I currently rotate four pairs of older model Kayano shoes to wear for yard work. I developed knee pain requiring medical intervention after wearing the Techno Cyan/Sunrise Red Kayano 27 for a number of months. Then I forgot to pack my Kayano 27s for a trip so I purchased a cheaper pair of Asics Sonoma 5 to wear for the long weekend. Oddly enough, I realized a few days later my knee pain had disappeared! I wore the Kayano 27s after returning home and the knee pain returned. I stopped wearing the Kayano 27s for over a month and the knee pain went away. My knee pain was from wearing the Kayano shoes!*They were comfortable to wear until the knee pain started.
