A good training partner for mid to long runs
I bought this show to use on my mid to long runs as part of a cycle of shoes to use during a phase of a marathon training. These were comfortable straight out of the box and I was able to take them on a 10 mile run, I would say that they have increased in comfort following a breaking in period, I'm now up to 60+ miles and they feel like they have moulded to my foot. I have used them on a few tempo runs and they are comfortable but not particularly lightweight or responsive. They do provide a good level of support due to the light truss and this is definitely more forgiving than the due max of previous models. I found the outsole to be pretty poor in the wet, it offered little grip on hill sessions at pace. Overall I would definitely recommend this shoe for use with ... I am a midfoot striker so "unfortunately" can't comment on the gel heel.... Show more

Best customer service and lovely shoes
Honestly the best customer service ever from staff at the Boulevard. Tried shoes on in store but couldn’t get my daughter’s size. Had to order online but brought them back to the store and they refunded them and applied the 20% discount when I bought them back. Saved £17 thanks to helpful staff. And we love the shoes. Very comfy with support for pronation. My daughter loves these. Sizing is small.... Show more

Cause blisters on the heel and inside of the foot
I bough three pairs; one for me and one each to my daughters. They had the same model earlier and were happy with that. However, these new pairs felt like totally different model. The kids got nasty blisters on their heels and that only from walking in them! I bought mine for running and they felt really narrow in the heel and it took me about 30km of running and about the same of walking to wear them in. Has never happened to me before with any ASICS shoe (or any shoe). My kids just do not wear them as they are too afraid of getting blisters again.... Show more

Comfort / Support / Balance and a UK12.5!
When you are a size 12.5UK it can be tricky finding an Asics shoe that fits correctly. This issue is what drew me to this model initially as its frustrating trying to find a Kayano/Cumulus that works for me as I have to chose between a 12UK and a 13UK and neither size quite work for me.I'm glad I did - because this is a perfect shoe. I have slightly flat and medium to wide feet, it hugs and supports with total comfort. It's not so built up that it looks a little blocky. The new mesh hugs the toes without feeling restrictive at all. Fit is true to size with your normal running shoe, unless you have boxy square feet where I'd suggest you size up.I run in the Asics Glideride. Its the model that got me into running in the first place, totally revolutionised an activity I didnt enjoy. have to size up to a UK13 though. So I use the GT-2000 10 as my day to day walking/recovery shoe. Couldnt find a better option to do the job.If there was one criticism - ASICS! People like me have size 12.5UK feet and we need your help! Please can you update your stock levels and supply this size across your premium ranges because if you dont people will shop elsewhere. Always very limited supply and colour-way range. What about the Kayano? 12.5UK's dont feature much which is a shame. There I've said my piece.I love this shoe. I have no doubt you will too.... Do I think they are any good?!
These are great trainers. I have been buying them for last 20 years. The materials have changed in the last years and the shoe upper typically wears out within a year. In the past it used to last far longer. However, it would be wise to change them once a year anyway to avoid injuries as the sole is designed for certain amount miles. These running trainers are very comfortable and supportive for running, gym or just walking. Enjoy!... Show more

Excellent all-round shoe for everyday training
When you find a shoe you like, buy lots of them - you never know if you're going to like the next iteration as much. The GT-2000-10 is probably my favourite ever running shoe in terms of reliability, comfort and feel. I over-pronate slightly, so value a support shoe for the everyday runs. I don't race in this shoe, but value it for medium to long-distance training. It's actually fine on the track as well for normal training (it's good to use carbon sparingly). This is the third pair of GT-2000 10s I've had, not including a pair of the GT-2000-10 GTX as well, which is also great. I've retired each pair at about 1000k, and each has been in ostensibly fine condition at that point.I also prefer this to the Kayano; for me it's more forgiving and adaptable.... Show more

Great shoes
Great for balance and have strategically placed cushioning which is so nice when you run on hard surfaces or long distance, my feet are quite thankful for that. Loved these so much, my first perfect running shoes.Sizes got me confused though. When time came to change the old pair (size 38), it appeared that new ones size 38 were too small, and 39 were way too large, and 39 narrow somehow pushing on top of the toe, which so weird, as my old ones were just perfect. No problem, replaced with another model. Would still recommend these.... Show more

Major changes to the GT 2000
I have worn this shoe for over a decade. It is my go-to shoe. The model changes slightly with each new release, for sure. I ordered my regular size but with this change, the model has lengthened by a full half size. Taking out the hard shank for the stability that runs through the shoe has lead to this increase in length that I was not expecting. When I placed my order, the details on the Asics site did not mention the major changes to the construction of what has been the mainstay of stability in the Asics range. The GT 2000 is no longer the stability shoe it was. The changes have sacrificed stability for additional cushioning. My order placed in the UK was shipped from Germany for some reason. It took a full week to reach me, it was too long when it arrived, and I had to send it back and am still awaiting my refund. So, in the meanwhile, I have done 2 things: 1) bought the GT 2000 model 9 online elsewhere in my regular size because that shoe lasted me a full year and was just brilliant; 2) tried on the Kayano in a half size smaller --because the Kayano is now the stability shoe for Asics-- and I bought it. Discussing these two shoes in the Asics range with my local shoe seller in Sevenoaks, Kent, UK, we decided that the GT 2000 is still good if you only pronate mildly, but the Kayano is the go-to for major stability plus cushioning. Note that the arch has been omitted in both the GT 2000 and the Kayano. Not a big deal for me as I add my own orthotics, but, buyers should definitely try both before buying as neither shoe is as it was in previous models.... Show more

Not true to the size, too small
I have been always wearing Asics UK size 5.5 for years, but GT-2000 5.5 is too small. I brought the shoes on the outlet website and wanted to return to the store at Canary Wharf London but got rejected. The store manager refused to let me return shoes on the ground that the shoes are not in the "unworn condition". There needs to be some common sense here, that one has to wear the shoes once to figure out if they fit or not. For me the shoes are in perfect conditions. Please see below for the pictures. In addition I pointed out to the store manager:1. It's Asics' fault that GT-2000 model is not true to its size. I has been wearing Asics for years and always had size 5.5. However GT-2000 size 5.5 is too small that I need a size 6. As I did not expect size 5.5 would ... MoreI have been always wearing Asics UK size 5.5 for years, but GT-2000 5.5 is too small. However GT-2000 size 5.5 is too small that I need a size 6. As I did not expect size 5.5 would not fit, I wore the shoes once to school to pick up kids. In total no more than 1km.2. Asics does have a "Road Tested Shoes" program that they can resell minimally worn shoes at a discounted price. This is a great way that the shoes do not get thrown away and save the environment.Despite I pointed out the above two reasons, the store manager still refused to take my shoes. I understand rules are rules, but I appreciate some common sense and human understanding in this situation.I just had to pay another pair of shoes with size 6.... Show more

Surprisingly Good
I used the old GT2000 series of the nineties etc until they were replaced by the GT2 and now the the new GT2000 series. Loved the old shoes and they never gave me any problems over many years. These new GT series shoes seem about on a par as you follow the update iterations. Plenty of toe room for my arthritic toes, good arch support and surprisingly comfortable cushioning on a run. Stability is excellent in controlling pronation. The shoe tread seems to have been more aimed at smooth road surfaces but still works OK on off-road work as long as it is not too severe.A good all-round shoe that works well without being over expensive...
