After getting a pair of Bondi 8's I was very impressed with the comfort level of the Hokas and decided to try to find something more rugged. The Bondi SR was the closest thing to "rugged" I could find in EE. I have a "wide" foot, and have a very "narrow" selection to choose from. The Bondi SR's were the ONLY option for a EE other than in the Bondi 8's. I am 48 and not really ready for a senior shoe, but I am also practical and want to be comfortable. Honestly, these truly look like a senior old man shoe. I don't care, because that is how comfortable they are. The impact while walking and jogging is really well cushioned. It is like walking on pillows. Lots of bounce in the step too, and I am able to talk good distances without pain, as where I was only able to walk ... MoreAfter getting a pair of Bondi 8's I was very impressed with the comfort level of the Hokas and decided to try to find something more rugged. The exterior fabric looks cheaper than I would expect and shows considerable wear after daily use over 6 months. However, it is easy to clean the exterior and is more durable than with the Bondi 8. Definitely recommend-but they aren't pretty. The grip is awesome for wet surfaces. Highly recommend to restaurant staff, those working around slippery surfaces, etc...Go ugly early---the comfort is worth it!

But is it worth the money? To me it is a YES because I’m on my feet for almost 40hours plus a week. And these provides me with the support and comfort not to mention safety that I desperately need.

They keep your foot stable and help avoid pronation and supination. You won't be disappointed!

I thought these would be the answer to my Bondi 7 prayers
4 November 2023

I have four pairs of Hokas and have even bought them as gifts for family. I loved my Bondi 7s the most and wanted an all-white pair that was water-resistant for a trip to Europe, so the Bondi SRs seemed to be the perfect choice. I took them out on my daily hour-long walks and I noticed that afterward, my right heel would feel sore. I chalked it up to my feet just needing to get used to the shoes. When decision time came to which two pairs of shoes I would take on my two-week Prague and Budapest trip, I could not risk sore feet so I opted for another pair of all-white waterproof shoes shoes along with another water-repellent pair of black ones (I averaged 16-22K steps each day). I had no issues with my shoes so I was really happy with my choices. Now that I've been home for five days, I wanted to give my Bondi SRs another chance so I wore them to run errands and go for my walks and unfortunately, my feet (specifically my right heel) are sore again. I wish I had acted sooner but now I'm well beyond the 30-day window, so these shoes are going to go back in their box and sit on the shelf. I am really bummed because I really wanted to like these shoes. I'm hoping you can replicate what the Bondi 7s feel like (I would wear them multiple days in a row at Disneyland and have had no problem but the tread is worn out so they've been retired from the regular rotation). So much promise but unfortunately, these are not the answer to my Bondi 7s.

Ijust can't get a good fit with this shoe
19 October 2023

I have had several pairs of Hokas, the recovery wedges, Clifton's and Bondis have help me to make an almost 100% recovery from plantar fasciitis. This is the 2nd pair of Bondi SR that I've purchased. In regular shoes I wear a 9 but I go up a size with running shoes. Because I bought these shoes with the intention of wearing them as a comfortable work shoe, I do a lot of sitting so I didn't need to worry about my feet swelling like I would if I wear wearing them as an exercise shoe so I bought a 9.5. My toes came right to the tip of the shoes and my toenails rubbed on the front. I've also had problems with the Clifton shoe fitting me correctly. The lady I spoke with recommended that I try the larger size in a wide. I was really surprised that she suggested a wide because my feet are so long and narrow that my family teases me about them. So the second pair of Bondi SR I bought a 10D, they feel huge! I feel like I can't get the snug fit that I typically like without making the shoe look deformed and the outsides of my feet are still being pinched between the insole and the inside of the shoe.

My Unexpected Journey with Hoka Shoes
8 April 2024

I have to share a bit about my experience with Hoka shoes. At first, these shoes were a dream come true. They were so comfy that I not only got a pair for myself but also went out of my way to buy them as gifts for my family and friends, raving about how great they were. In fact, over the last three years, I've eventually purchased at least over 10 pairs, which speaks volumes about my belief in and support for the brand.I didn't wear them all the time-just here and there, maybe once or twice a month. So, imagine my surprise when, after a year, as soon as the seasons changed and I decided to take them out for a spin, the shoes came apart. This was the last thing I expected, especially since I had taken such good care of them and really hadn't worn them that ... MoreI have to share a bit about my experience with Hoka shoes. This was the last thing I expected, especially since I had taken such good care of them and really hadn't worn them that much. Now, here's the kicker: I found out I couldn't even claim the warranty because it had been over a year. Honestly, for shoes that cost as much as these did, you wouldn't expect them to start falling apart so soon, right?I truly hope Hoka sees this as constructive feedback. I would love to continue supporting a brand that stands by the quality of its products, reflecting the good name it has built. It's important for me, and likely for other customers, to see that they can stand on their quality for a good brand name. After all, my commitment over the past three years-purchasing at least over 10 pairs-demonstrates my trust in their quality, a trust I'd love to see justified moving forward.

Nice to have the freedom of walking without pain
4 March 2024

I bought the Bondi SR after a weekend of walking on pavement in Boston and my plantar fasciitis bothering me to the point that I wasn't able to walk as much as I wanted. I saw other women wearing these relatively odd looking shoes and asked if they liked them. They all said they were great. So with that, I bought a pair of Black leather (to be a bit more rain resistent) and try to make my size 11 feet look less - well, size 11. The first couple of days I wore these around the house. The padding around the "collar" of the shoe felt a bit thick and strange. But after a couple of days, I got used to that. As winter in New England hit, I used these walking shoes on our hiking trails. This is where I found how great the tread on the sole is. It helps grip the wet wooden bridges and rocks. I find I slip much less with these shoes and feel more stable on the trails than in my hikers (not Hoka hikers). Today I went down a steep, wet, cobbley-stoned portion of the trail and I didn't turn my ankle nor slip even once. In my non-Hoka hiking boots I struggled, but in these sidewalk shoes the trail was a breeze. I decided to order a pair of Hoka hiking shoes today. So I hope they perform as well on the trail as these Bondi SR's. P.S. They did not make my size 11 feet look smaller. :)

Purchased these shoes for clinicals because of a recommendation from a friend. Worst 12 hours of my life every time I wore them. They were very painful and half way through my shifts I started limping due to the pain. Bending my foot created a pressure point on the shoe to form on top of my foot. I have flat feet and my arches were always aching. Bottom part of the shoes are wider so I would trip over them. I stuck with them until nursing school was over because I wasn't going to pay for another expensive pair of shoes. The tongue also kept slipping to the side and created another pressure point on my foot. I will say they were easy to clean, held up well being kept outside, and even went to another nursing student friend for her clinicals. Great shoes for clinicals! They aren't uncomfortably stiff or squeaky and they don't hurt when you have to stand in place (*cough* brooks addiction walker *cough*). These shoes are plush, yet supportive. Best of all the wides are ACTUALLY wide, so if you only sometimes wear wides, the regular width should suit you well. If you've got duck feet like me and non-wide shoes are a deal breaker, you'll love the toe box on these. I ordered my usual size and realized they were a bit too big and the tongues also rubbed my ankle bones too much. The exchange process was simple, and going down half a size fixed my problem! There is some arch support built into these shoes (which I don't usually care for) but I was surprised to find that they fit my low arches well and don't make my feet ache. I wore them for a few hours here and there to break them in, but they're pretty comfortable right out of the box and they seem to be getting softer with wear. The heel-to-toe drop is only 6mm, which is great if you don't like the feeling of standing on a hill all day. All in all, very happy with this purchase. Wish I would have gotten them sooner.

These shoes are too tight, and when bought in wide..

My boyfriend had originally purchased a size woman's 7 regular for me. The soles themselves feel amazing and they look stylish considering they are workshoes. I am a busy hairstylist who stands all day where comfort is a must. HOWEVER, after trying for several days to "break in" the shoes I simply could not stand the throbbing pain from how incredibly tight these Bondi's are. I have never bought a wide shoe before. I'm a small girl (5'3,110lbs). I understand that the width of your foot determines whether you need a wide shoe size. I know my feet are not wide. My boyfriend decided to return the shoes, saying for about $200, these podiatrist approved shoes should not make your feet hurt even more. I was sad now, so he then ordered the Bondi SR in wide... now I am ... MoreMy boyfriend had originally purchased a size woman's 7 regular for me. Sadly there is no winning for these shoes. No proper in between. Either too tight or too wide! They are comfortable (sole wise) and had thought they looked cool. Now they look too big on my small self 🤣 and people make fun of me. 😿 sad times
