Long time NB customer as I like having width choices. I normally wear a 13 4E. First time buyer of these.The shoes today seem to be getting a bit shorter. Not yet uncomfortable, but maybe my feet are spreading. I am thinking I should try a 14 4E next time. This shoe is very comfortable - almost too comfortable. I am 78 and not as stable on my feet as I used to be. My feet in shoes always feel a bit lumpy like I'm walking on river rocks, but maybe that's just my age. The Fresh Foam design is very comfortable and I can go much longer than with other shoes not having the Fresh Foam. I worry though that my feet seem to have less stability with the foam when walking - it's like walking on an air mattress. Not sure how to address this issue. Not for me, I'm an Ascics shoe type of person and figured check out what all the buzz was on this shoe. To be fair, I run in stability shoes primarily so this was something to add to my rotation for light a little faster than normal days (which is rare!). I normally run in Ascics Gel-Nimbus 25/26 or Keyano 30 for my most recent shoes. So yes, I knew this would feel different.The shoe feels old, not sure how to say it but I expected more from a $150+ shoe in the way the mesh and tongue felt. The stretch liner to hold the tongue in place and give a bit of a snug fit could be stronger and longer down the shoe to the toebox. While it did keep the tongue in place for my runs the tongue feels enormous compared to other shoes. I say this because my 3rd run out I felt that I was over extending a bit and sure enough I was because I started to feel my calf pull a little but a minor tweak on my run fixed that going forward. Really just mentioning this to remind people that switching from certain styles of shoe will def have that break in period so if you old but feel young like me, take it easy for a bit until you figure the shoe out! I did like how they felt like they were pushing me a little forward without me having to try. This and the springyness (is that a word!) is about all that I liked on the shoe other than the gold color which I think I like, it's growing on me. As someone who runs in stability shoes and shoes with a little bit of a drop (or a lot!), I didn't like how I felt like I could easily roll my ankle in these. Not that I did, but with every strike I felt like I was thinking about my strike way too much.I've taken them on a longer than 60 minute long run, and a couple 10k tempo speed runs and I really really want to like them but my after run feel in my legs is not the same as the comfort I'm left with after running in my Ascics shoes. These look good, so I hate to say it out of the rotation and into my travel shoe section for work. I will say that I had great hopes for the shoe, but maybe I need to try a NB shoe with a plate in it but these just were not for me.Overall a decent shoe, a bit pricey though as I feel this is a $99 shoe nothing more, and the shoe itself material wise feels old. Okay for a once a week trainer, or as a casual run shoe to wear out on the weekends in my opinion.

I'm not a runner but walk a LOT with an unrepaired torn ACL and the 1080 was recommended for the extra support. They've been fantastic until now...While these have more cushioning, they have less stability which is a problem for the torn ACL. The cushioning makes it feel like your heel sinks with every step. My foot slides out of step causing an over-pronation; that and the increased "squishy" factor has changed my gait. While I could wear the earlier versions all day (12+ hours at WDW) it's 2-3 hours tops for these before my tibialis muscles are sore.The shoe shape itself is also different. The outer upper body feels wonderful. Soft, lightweight and pliable. The overall weight is also very low, just 202 grams, which is great! However the sole is too high from the ground and way too soft. Being higher up from ground makes it difficult to gauge earth underneath. Thus proper grasp and balance becomes an issue. The thick sole is so soft that one feels like kneading a dough with one's feet while walking or running with these shoes. As a result, I developed bad backpain after using these shoes for a couple of times. This makes this design the worst NB shoes I have ever bought. NB must make proper research while designing the next version of Fresh Foam Women's 1080 shoes. I purchased the 1080v13 shoe as a substitute for the 860v14 stability/pronation shoe that had rapidly sold out of my size and width, and planned to make the 1080 my indoor-home shoe (not for high activity). I had worn the 1080 several years ago, and tried and moved to the now defunct 1260 or current 860 at suggestion of a sales person. The 1080 marketed as a "neutral" shoe suggested to me that it would fit a wide variety of feet. It was immediately clear that was a bad conclusion and that the 1080v13 did not offer a workable substitute for me; the sides of the 1080 shoe painfully dug into the ankle bone. I can't speak to whether or not this particular ill-fit results from a recent a design modification or a more distant modification. This review system requires assigning a quality rating, which I can't sincerely offer since the shoe does not fit, and so I've selected the middle rating of 3 stars. Of course, the 1080v13 might be a fabulous shoe for another person!
I loved 1080v12, which i wore in a 9 wide (D) to accommodate an insert. I thought that the v12's cushion & proportions were perfect for my flat, post-surgery wide feet. Unfortunately, the 1080v13's upper material is much stiffer, making the kick feel tangibly narrower. I am in the process of switching out the v13 to the next width level, "EE", which seems comparable to the v12's wide "D".Also, the increase in footbed cushion changed the ride of the kick - the heel area feels more bouncy & the extra midfoot cushion pronounces roll - at the expensive of distorting/eliminating the feel of what i thought was perfect midfoot placement in the v12. The ankle cutout is abnormally close to the heel & v13's side slope back to the shoelace results in the side being too high, rubbing over my ankle.... even with the added height from an insert. Essentially, it almost seems as if New Balance made a unisex kick with mens' ankle & other dimensions, but changed the label. It reminded me of my first post surgery Mizuno that I needed to buy in a men's size to obtain the width I needed, but which also came at the expensive of having ankle rub from the sides being higher because it was a men's design.Hence, consider increasing the width level of your v13 to remain comparable to the v12.

I complete 450,00 steps a month in addition to other aerobic activities. Therfore, I have high expectations for my footwear when it comes to sneakers/gym shoes. These 1080 v13 are the first pair that I hate. These shoes make sounds like there is water or some crunchy something in them.At work, we can wear jeans on Fridays, so I wore these shoes to work on a Friday, and my colleagues and I had to hear this noise all day long.I did not recognize this when I first wore them at the gym because the music is so loud. They are SO comfortable and have LOTS of cushioning and are perfect for someone like me with a high arch and outward rolling feet (supinator) I also love the color I bought - they are white with violet outlining and green neon touches with green neon stripes at the heel (the neon stripe is especially good when taking walks while it is dark outside).
