Great as standby. It's a cheap alternative to the fresh broccoli. But it is obviously a second grade product. The florets have broken off the stems and we have bald stalks in the packet. It still cooks up to be a great product especially in casseroles and curries. I just add them near the end of cooking time so they dont go mooshy. Great as a standby or when broccoli is ridiculously priced, as the price really doesnt vary a lot. An Australian product. And the bag goes into red cycle.

Convenient, nutritious and no time limit to use. When you are running out of time, you can just pop open your freezer and see which vegetable goes best with dinner. Six minutes later, your micro-steamed veggies are ready to take their proud place on the table. Frozen veggies come in handy year-round, but I especially rely on them during the winter months, when it's slim pickings in the produce section. Nutritionally speaking, frozen veggies are similar to -- and sometimes better than -- fresh ones. They are snap frozen immediately after being harvested. Price is fairly stable year round. Loved the broccoli florets.

Perfect for Cheese and Broccoli Soup! I typically buy fresh veges and rarely frozen veges but was happy to try this item. The benefit of frozen is it is usually cheaper and there is less wastage as fresh veges tend to go off fairly quickly. The downside for me has been in relation to taste. However I am happy to report this product was not poor tasting. I made cheese and broccoli soup with this product and it came out a treat. I would not have picked up that the broccoli used was frozen if I did not know. Great to have on hand on home and a very reasonable price point.

A good fresh alternative. A good standby in the freezer and more cost effective than fresh at times. Needs less cooking time needed than fresh as it can go sloppy. Still nice and green but sizes were a bit variable and there were a few headless stalks. Not as many as my Coles Cauli florets mind you. Tendency to freeze hard in a big block rather than remain nice a loose. Good to add to a stir fry or soup. I'd buy again especially considering the high price of fresh broccoli at the moment (although it does take up freezer space). Thanks for the sample. Good timing.
Convenient alternative to fresh. Snap frozen, Australian grown broccoli was a great sample to receive as I hadn't bought frozen broccoli before. I was quite impressed with the quality, not quite as good as fresh but a great, convenient alternative when the fresh product is unavailable, or too expensive to buy (as it has been over the last few months!!) The plastic bag contained mostly mid sized florets but there were quite a few little bits in the bag which may have broken off the other pieces. They can be steamed on the stove top or in the microwave or added to stir fries and other dishes. Be careful with the time cooked as they can overcook quite quickly, and I wouldn't boil them as suggested on the pack. Thanks so much Woolies for this sample, I'll be buying a ... MoreConvenient alternative to fresh. Freezer staple. Great Aussie Broccoli. Fantastic to have on hand in the freezer to add to meals. While I buy fresh when it is in season, this is a good substitute for the rest of the year when it is very expensive! We will only buy Aussie veggies, so this is great and convenient. Always have lots of frozen veggies on stand-by for our busy mid-week evening meals! A 500g bag is a small size but covers our family for a meal. The price is reasonable given how expensive fresh usually is. The product is described as florets, although some of the florets still have quite a long stem attached, which is a little disappointing!Regular purchaser of frozen veggies - haven't had a free sample.
Convenient, Cheap, Aussie Grown. Once thawed, do not refreeze General: - I like the pack design. It is was easy to spot on the store shelf, the Australian map, pictures of broccoli and the bright green colour were appealing to my eye and my stomach! - For $2. 50 you get a good quantity, though the pieces were a slightly smaller size than I would normally cut 'fresh' broccoli. - The pack supplies heating instructions (Microwave or Boil... but you could also steam or just throw them straight into e. g. a stir-fry or casserole without defrosting). 3 - 4 minutes cooking time for either method. * I placed enough for three people into a glass dish along with some sliced carrots and a tiny bit of water (there was some ice that came out of the broccoli packet but not enough to help steam the carrots) and microwaved them for six minutes (my microwave is old and takes longer than most packet instructions state)They were perfectly cooked, maintained their lovely bright green colour and tasted lovely. Overall: I would have preferred the pieces had been slightly larger but other than that I was very happy with the quality, price and convenience. I will still buy fresh broccoli (as I also use stems not just florets in my cooking) but would definitely buy these again. At that low price they fit into my budget!
Convenient. I never buy frozen veg but after this sample I will. The broccoli was cut into small florets which was convenient. I steamed them in the microwave in 2 mins which is quick and convenient. I also used some in a stir fry. No complaints from anyone - just as good as fresh id say. Great that they are Australian produce. Priced well too.
Convenient. I purchase another brand of frozen broccoli regularly these days for convenience. I was excited to try the woolies brand. Whilst there were some quite large broccoli florets, I am disappointed with the headless stalks also in the pack. I can't say I wouldn't purchase these again as the actual broccoli was nice and large. But I wouldnt want to find too many stalks. That always bring to mind the budget meat where all the fatty stuff is hidden underneath and you throw half of your purchase in the bin. Broccoli stalks will be fed to my dog.
Frozen is 'almost' best! I know the saying is that "fresh is best".... but I have to say that this sample really challenges that notion! The packet is easy to find in the freezer aisle, has good pictures representing the contents, and is a nice low price point. When I poured the broccoli out into a bowl the florets looked appealing. The only criticism was a bit of a variation in sizes of the florets, but that happens a bit when I cut up fresh broccoli too. Being time poor and needing dinner on the table quickly, I chose the microwave cooking method. The broccoli cooked in the 4 minutes recommended. I drained some water form the bowl before serving. I'm glad I did because they would have been too watery otherwise. But once drained they were fine. Served with a BBQ ... MoreFrozen is 'almost' best! Served with a BBQ chicken thigh and some sweet potato mash, this made for a quick and colourful dinner for the family. I would recommend this product for people who are time poor and want unprocessed foods on their dinner plate easily, or for adding to other dishes like casserole or stir fry where you really wouldn't know the difference. I will be purchasing this again to have on hand in the freezer. P. S. I have read before that snap frozen veggies can have more nutrients than fresh versions - especially if the fresh veggies sit in your fridge for a few days before you eat them.
