Sweet dessert; lacking hazelnut flavour. Found these in the refrigerated bakery section, took a while to locate as the label has changedA decadent-looking slice, I thought they were quite substantial for an individual serve. This was confirmed when I tasted it, as I found it overall quite sweet, and couldn't finish it. The slice itself has a chocolate biscuit base, and choc hazelnut mousse middle, and topped with chocolate ganache and crushed hazelnut. I found very little actual hazelnut flavour within the mousee; in addition it had an odd margarine-like texture that I found a little off-putting. Disappointed. I really wanted to like this. I love chocolate mousse, I love chocolate and hazelnut, and I have a sweet tooth. The packaging was attractive and gave a premium feel to the product. The mousse slice itself looked lovely, nice layers, decorated simply but elegantly. I had high hopesThe first mouthful I didn't enjoy, but continued to really find out what exactly it was I didn't like. Trying each part separately. The base was very dry and crumbly, it is a biscuit base and I'd actually assumed it would be a cake base, but that's on me. Still, I'm not a fan of biscuit bases anyway, like those you get in cheesecakes so that may be down to personal tastes. The mousse layer was really bland. I couldn't really detect chocolate or hazelnut flavour in the mousse. I love a nice chocolatey mousse, either sweet milk chocolate or rich dark chocolate, but this was neither. It was very pale, it was sweet but bland. The texture was too firm for my liking, it was quite gelatinous and reminded me of a flummery texture. It seemed like it should be creamy but I found it gelatinous and airy. The ganache layer on top I did not like either. I could get the chocolate taste from it however it tasted like really cheap compound chocolate, although it had chocolate flavour it was really lacking in depth of flavour. The caramel drizzle on top tasted fine, and looked nice, but not enough to lift the whole thing when together. The hazelnut pieces on top gave crunch but didn't add any flavour. I didn't eat the second one in the pack, and I wouldn't purchase these again. I'm really disappointed as this is exactly the sort of thing I would buy as a regular treat, but it really fell short for me. If the taste and texture lived up to the appearance of the product I would happily pay for it, but not as it is now.

Taste does not match looks. The dessert was a little difficult to find. Several stores did not stock it. As a choc hazelnut lover, once I finally found it I was incredibly excited to try it. The presentation is incredible and it looks oh so decadent with the ganache but it was oh so disappointing to eat. It was sweet and light albeit slightly crumbly in the biscuit base. The ganache was lovely and smooth. The mousse was the biggest disappointment and letdown the entire dish. There was next to no flavour or texture in it. The taste was very filler/cheap with the texture lacking the density a true mousse would have. For the price and the calories, this dessert is simply not worth it.

Sugary Slice. I'm still doing my happy dance because that's who I am but I was disappointed by the lack of quality and care in this slice. The whole thing's been changed - the packaging and the taste of the slice - and it isn't for the better The packaging especially with the blue does look more stylish and modern however the brown trim on the old pack reinforced the hazelnut theme. I was lucky enough to receive it as a limited release sample but it's a very reasonable price of $5. 50 so that gets a big tick ✔It's a pack of 2 and they were slightly damaged in the pack but that didn't bother me so much. I'm fussy about mousse, and the texture of that component wasn't airy and light like true mousse is. It had more of a gelatine texture that isn't to my liking. It was also too pale with a mild milk chocolate flavour not a rich, dark chocolate. I could notice a hazelnut flavour but it was very mild, and if the hazelnuts were roasted that would bring out more of their flavour. The worst component was the base - it has a grainy sugar crystal texture which, to me, is an error in baking. I read the ingredients list and there's sugar and invert sugar syrup made from table sugar and water, and this may be the problem since caster sugar has a finer texture for baking than table sugar. If I'm going to indulge in a chocolate dessert, I really want to taste the chocolate. Chocolate ganache was probably the best part and the hazelnuts on top look good but there needs to be more of them and I'd rather them roasted. The chocolate drizzle was okay. Palm oil has been used in a few components although the cocoa is rainforest alliance certified. I shared this with two other people and it was all eaten but there were comments about the grainy base detracting from the 'mousse. 'No, I wouldn't recommend this slice but I know there are people who would scoff it down regardless of the taste Thanks very much @bunchteam for a dessert sample however I won't be buying it

The child approves. Again another sweet delight I wasn’t allowed near but it kept the teenager daughter happy, she slithered out of our her dark room at the thought of these. The package didn’t even touch the bench before both her and package were gone. I believe my wife has brought these before, she was lucky enough to get a sample before it disappeared. my wife recalls she wasn’t fussed on these, oddly too much chocolate for her which does actually happens sometimes. They look lovely, smell lovely. I know some will complain about the plastic but I love seeing the item not in a faked photo but the real item. Some maybe also be abled to eat a full slice in a sitting but also nice just to cut a smaller piece off, store rest in fridge. About a third I heard is enough ... MoreThe child approves. Or take a half of a slice to work rumour has it the consistency is nice, flavour is lovely though only real complaint is would like in a milk chocolate form as too much dark chocolate but otherwise no negatives for this productyes would buy again to tame the savage beast the resides in the 2 bedroom. I’m sure if you like chocolate, you like mousse then you will love this.

Affordable hazelnut mousse treat. It isn’t often you come across hazelnut flavoured mousse and I was delighted to try this as a delicious afternoon snack. The chocolate ganache on top is nice and has crushed hazelnuts pressed in, the hazelnut mousse was smooth and yummy, but I expected a punchier taste and the mousse consistency could be improved. I wasn’t too fond of the base, I felt it was too thick and overpowered the other flavours, after a few bites I left the base and just ate the mousse and chocolate. Overall this is a good product at a reasonable price point, $5. 50 for two serves. However, I’d reach for another flavour next time. I imagine this slice would go well with coffee, to help cut through the sweetness.

Decadent, smooth and disappears too quickly. A few bakery items have had their packaging updated. The label of this mousse slice is now a blue and gold sleeve. Has two slices with a decorative ganache on top. The slices need to be handled with care when getting out of the box. The mousse is airy and light and the biscuit base is soft and blends into the texture of the mousse. It’s all very smooth and creamy with a sprinkle of tiny nut pieces. Has a rich chocolate and hazelnut flavour, but surprisingly not very sweet. Hits the spot for a small dessert. You could easily share a slice between two people, or keep it all for yourself. Priced at $5. 50

Delicious. Was a bit sceptical when I was offered to try this slice. I thought it would taste cheap and very sweet. I was quite surprised. The texture was smooth and creamy. The chocolate flavour was just right and not over powering, probably due to the hazelnut flavour mixed with it. The sweetness was just right with only 15g per slice. Also enjoyed the small hazelnut sprinkled on Top. Great to see all of the packaging is recyclable. Shame it only rates 1. 5 stars out of 5 for the health start rating, but that is to be expected for a mousse dessert. Great price too - 2 slices for $5. 50. Cheaper than a muffin from the local bakery

Smooth and creamy. I was so happy to receive this as a Bunch limited release. A 200g packet includes 2 slices of slice. Hubby and I went halves in a slice and for me, that is the perfect size. A wonderful biscuit base with plenty of flavour. It had enough crunch to add a lovely texture but not so crunchy that you can’t cut it with your spoon. The mousse was quite creamy with a lovely hint of hazelnut. The mousse melted in your mouth. The chocolate ganache topped with chopped hazelnut was the perfect topping to complete this delicious dessert. We will definitely buy this again.

Just as good as the cafe treats. Wow was very excited to receive this special release sample. Chocolate and Hazelnut Mousse Slice was easy to find with the other cakes in the fridge section. At $5. 50 for 2 slices it's great value, at a cafe you would pay double that for just one slice. Hubby and I had this slice with a cup of coffee for afternoon tea. The Hazelnut Mousse was light and creamy and not too sweet or rich. The chocolate biscuit crust was a little hard to break with a spoon, but we got there. Chocolate and Hazelnut always go well together and this slice didn't disappoint us. We both really enjoyed it and would purchase again as a yummy afternoon tea. The container is recyclable, however I have decided to reuse these for my homemade chocolates that I make ... MoreJust as good as the cafe treats.
