Super fine coconut. Found in the baking isle for $2. 80 A super fine coconut that is suitable for baking. Perfect for macarons and creating a classic Aussie lamington. No added colours or flavours. No added sugarSource of fibreIngredients are :Coconut and preservatives 220, 223 which are sulphites that can cause allergy like reactions. I use this for making a lemon slice which I find is the right texture to still be able to taste the coconut. The bag cannot be resealed so I decanted coconut into a container to avoid a huge mess as being really fine it tends to fly around easily. Bag is recyclable Packed in Australia from imported ingredients.

Nice Coconut. I buy this regularly, even if I don't need it straight away as a pantry staple. Nice bright package with a decent sized viewing windowEasy enough to tear open from the top down with the little ridges but then you have to decanter into an airtight container to keep it fresh as it has no re seal stripLovely fine chop, very versatile, add a handful for extra flavour and texture even if the recipe doesn't call for it ie apricot chicken, sweet n sour pork, in the batter for banana, apple or pineapple fritters, it's perfect for baking and cooking - I found no foreign bodies ie nut shell pieces or fibre other than lovely white flesh. A lovely very economical product with the only additive of preservatives. No country of origin however packed here in Australia ...Ā MoreNice Coconut. My go to desiccated coconut. I always buy this coconut, although I buy the smaller packet, as I donāt use a lot, and like to use it as fresh as possible. The date on this is September 2023, and Iāll need to make a real effort to finish it by then. However, I can say from previous experience that it lasts a lot longer than the date on the pack. āŗļøOpening the packet releases a lovely fresh coconut smell, which made me want to grab a spoon and just dib in, but I resisted the temptation. I use it for my annual Anzac biscuits, add it to sweet crumble mix, and do, occasionally, eat it neat. Today I made a chocolate and coconut cake, and used my silicone mould for the first time. Yummy. I highly recommend this product, and will continue to buy it myself. Iām planning to do ...Ā MoreMy go to desiccated coconut. I buy this a lot! I really like Woolies desiccated coconut. Great taste, fine enough for baking, and price - canāt beat it. have absolutely no reason to pay extra for other branded ones - when the Woolies one is great quality like this is. Can be used in so many recipes and baking, and drinks/smoothies too. the only thing Iād love is a ziplock top - or even an easy open top to make storing it easier. cutting open the top with scissors is easy enough, but makes it hard to get the coconut out and measuring for baking. Also makes it hard to store the rest. Never use a whole packet at any one time, so a ziplock top would mean it stays fresh and is easy to use again next time. but otherwise really love this coconut and always buy it.
Great coconut for baking and desserts! I recently purchased Woolworth's Dessicated Coconut and was mostly pleased with the product. The coconut has a nice, sweet flavor and a good texture - it's not too dry or moist, and it's easy to work with. However, one thing that I noticed is that the use by dates on the packages of coconut seem to be quite short. I had to use up the coconut relatively quickly, which wasn't a huge inconvenience but was something to bear in mind. (Could just be at my local store)Despite this, I would still recommend Woolworth's Dessicated Coconut. It's a good quality product that has a nice flavor and texture, and it's a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of recipes. Just be mindful of the use by dates if you decide to purchase it.
Lovely Bunch of Coconuts. Desiccated coconut is a staple in my pantry and this WW 500g sample arrived at a perfect time. The lovely coconut aroma upon opening the bag and the dried grated coconut goes well in my classic caramel slice biscuit base recipe by Donna Hay. I also use in Coconut Date Balls and a Semolina Cake with Pistachios and of course the grandchildren enjoy Chocolate Crackles. You can also rehydrate the desiccated coconut with a little milk to replace breadcrumbs in meatballs as the coconut is not sweet. The price of $3. 60 ($7. 20/kg) is reasonable compared to other brands. Itās packed in Australia from imported ingredients. There are no artificial colours or flavours however, there are sulphites in preservatives 220 & 223 which is also found in ...Ā MoreLovely Bunch of Coconuts. An essential in my pantry. I still bake a fair bit so this product is an essential in my pantry. Containing nothing but coconut and a couple of preservatives you can be assured that it is what is says it is, along with no added sugar or such. It is a good source of fibre. Desiccated means to have all moisture removed to dry it out so this is coconut meat removed from its shell, grated finely (which you can tell from the packet) and dried out until only about 3% of moisture is remaining. Fine desiccated coconut is not to be confused with shredded desiccated coconut which is grated into pieces more like grated cheese. Fine desiccated is what you usually see coating lamingtons. Woolworths Fine Desiccated Coconut is the same as the other brands on the shelf yet considerably cheaper so do your wallet a favour and grab this one to have in your pantry.
Excellent product. What can I say? I use this desiccated coconut all the time, there's always a spare packet in the pantry. It is as good as any brand name coconut. Packed in Australia from imported ingredients. A great source of fibre with no added sugar, contains no artificial colours or flavours. The 500g pack will set you back $3. 60, like everything, this has increased in price. Bag can be returned to the store, when the store recycling comes back. I made a delicious chocolate and date slice with some of my sample. Today it will be used to make lamingtons. Very happy to receive an excellent product, that I regularly purchase.
Always in the pantry. This is another of my pantry staples and I use it a lot in my baking and it is very versatile. It is delicious to use when coating lamingtons or you can toast it and use it to decorate a cream sponge for something different. This morning I have used it to make my coconut biscuitsand also my coconut jam drops I have just picked some rhubarb from the garden so am going to use the coconut in my crumble for the topping to my apple and rhubarb crumble. There are so many ways to use coconut in the kitchen and I really like this one as it smooth and fine and a lot less expensive than some of the other brands on the shelf.
