Handy and cheap. Found in aisle 2 with all the other tinned milk varieties for $2 a can Perfect for using in sweet and savoury dishes like potato salad, creamy carbonara, frittatas, bread and butter pudding or homemade chocolate gelato ! As a non milk drinker and someone who doesn’t like creamy food I gifted to my daughter as this has sat in my pantry for awhile now. She put it to good use over the school holidays making smoothies for the boys. She thought it gave more body to the smoothie so will repurchase and keep a couple in the pantry. Easy ring pull top with can recyclable. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and suitable for vegetarians. Made in Lithuania

Nice and creamy. I don't think I've had/used evaporated milk in years. I remember my grandma used to always have a tin - not sure what she used it for. I do recall the texture and taste though. The tin has an unusual but easy to open ring pull leaving a thin slot for pouring. I had a small taste straight from the tin - this one seemed just the same as the branded one I remember from years ago. I decided to have a bit with my coffee so I poured a bit out to use later and used the rest in an Apple Crumble recipe that I found on the internet - I found it on Best Recipes Australia if anyone chooses to go searching (full name of recipe is Creamy Apple Crumble). My coffee and the apple crumble were both delicious. I could taste the "evaporated milk" difference. This milk ... MoreNice and creamy. I don't think I've had/used evaporated milk in years. Convenient, Versatile Pantry Staple !! To be honest, I haven’t used evaporated milk in a long time. Discovered many uses for this product after receiving this sample and planning to have as a pantry staple !Used this milk as a substitute to cream in making spaghetti carbonara.. absolutely delicious ! Creamy, with great flavour when added to pasta. Was a hit with the family. I used the remaining milk in making pikelets ... also delicious, great taste and healthier option to cream! Versatile product I plan to keep as a staple in my pantry !

Very very close to the 'other' brand. With milks I find the best way to 'test' is to cook with it. There is something about the heat thing that will show up differences (which are not always bad!)It was very easy to find on the shelf, and I think the packaging is a lot more attractive. Milk and red??? Blue is better. It even has the awful tear rippy lid thing making it difficult to 'dump' it all in - just like the other brand. no recipes on the tin, but some helpful, enticing word ideas for use. So I did cassava cake - any excuse will do for that diabetes inducing slice of coconut decadence!I used all the home brands, where normally it is branded all the way. Sweetened condensed, coconut cream etcEnd result was a little looser than normal, which with cassava is easy enough to adjust for. The evaporated was not at all gritty or powdery like bears... and indistinguishable. Personally I would not use it for cassava cake again, unless stuck. As I am an Aussie girl and buy a few extra when on special.

Used it in cup of tea & in chicken bake. Would never buy as it's no longer made in Australia! Really upsets me!

Made old fashioned Flummery - just perfect! Growing up, my Mum made Flummery for dessert every week. I know many people know it by different names but this is the only name I know - it's just jelly and evaporated milk. I've been wanting to try this for ages so this was the perfect opportunity. Made my lime jelly almost set but still soft and had my can of evaporated milk in the freezer to get very cold- whipped them together till mixture had doubled, then put in a bowl & in the fridge to set. My Flummery came out absolutely perfect, with a soft, fluffy consistency. The Evaporated Milk was absolutely perfect - not an overwhelming taste, just complimented the jelly flavour. Would definitely buy this again!

Very Good. My usual brand is Nestle Evaporated Milk. I was very excited to try the Woolworths Evaporated Milk, it reminded me of a popular drink in the South East Asia: Kopi-C, Teh-C and Teh Tarik (Asian coffee and tea) as they add this milk to their beverage. They also add this to a popular dessert called Ice-Kacang (shaved ice with jelly, red beans... etc) We always order the drinks and the dessert whenever we travel there. I added some the milk to my breakfast tea yesterday, and surprisingly it was actually quite creamy and smooth, I enjoyed my tea. Some people substitute coconut milk with evaporated milk in their curries, so I added the rest of the milk to my curry, and my curry was so delicious that we had a second helping! My usual brand is a dollar more, so ... MoreVery Good. I give it 4 stars because this is not made in Australia…we have so many cows... so why get the imports? We should be self-sufficient.

Deliciously nice and creamy. This is easily found in the long life milk aisle with the distinctive W logo at $1. 90 - 385ml. Not ever having cooked with evaporated milk, I decided to add it to my Honey & Oats Weetbix, crushing the Weetbix and adding a teaspoon of honey. It was so delicious and creamy and really gave it a dessert feel. I make desserts every now and then and this hit the spot and absolutely delicious with a creamy texture. Evaporated milk is cows milk, which 60% of the water has been removed and you're left with a lovely full cream rich milk. I would purchase this as a guilt free dessert as my sugar consumption is generally quite low. * 3 Health Rating* Made in Lithuania* Can is recyclable

Versatile product. I usually have a can of evaporated milk in my pantry ‘just in case’. To begin with this evaporated milk is only 2/3rds the price of the well known brand, but for this saving we are buying a product made in Lithuania, not an Australian one. The label on the can is an attractive blue so it’s easy to find on the shelf in Woolworths. It also has a list of suggestions on the uses of this evaporated milk and a photo of a creamy pasta with bacon and mushrooms … that solved the problem of what to have for dinner tonight! The can has an unusual slit shaped ring pull opening that allows much greater control when pouring from the can. The remainder of this evaporated milk went into a cup of coffee for a richer result than fresh cow’s milk. A good staple to have on standby for when fresh milk isn’t available or simply to add variety to sweet or savoury dishes

Creamy and reasonable price. Evaporated milk is a great product to have in the pantry for many reasons. You can substitute it any time you run out of milk so great in your coffee makes it nice and creamy. It lends itself to both sweet and savoury dishes making a great addition to any recipe. I have always used it in my Carbonara and Alfredo pasta dishes as well in many curry meals. Then you have the sweet side where you can use it to make a lovely rich and creamy rice or as I did with this can was to make an ice cream. My Mum used it quite a bit as we grew up an she made the most lovely ice cream but in later years she regretfully didn't make it and we never found the recipe. I would buy it again as it is also a very reasonable price and compares well to the name brand.
