Sweet Treat. I don't normally drink hot chocolate type drinks as I don't like to drink my calories. But I am enjoying these as a sweet treat. They have a nice chocolate flavour. Although I made mine in a mug, I think a smaller cup would give you a more creamy consistency, but of course would increase the sweetness too. I must say these are extremely sweet so may not be everyone's cup of tea, so to speak. I did think it was odd that these have both sugar and artificial sweeteners as ingredients. Sugar being the first listed ingredient so this usually means the greatest percentage and artificial sweeteners being the last listed ingredient, meaning the least percentage in the item. Not sure why they would need both and the sugar sort of defeats the purpose of the ... MoreSweet Treat. I don't normally drink hot chocolate type drinks as I don't like to drink my calories. Priced at $3. 25 for the box of 10 sachets. Made in Australia from only 31% Australian ingredients. I'll enjoy this box of these but it probably won't be a re-purchase for me.

Perfect for chilly nights rugged up with a blanket! Some stores did not have this item so when I finally found it, I grabbed a pack!I like hot chocolate and it is my drink of choice as opposed to coffee or tea so I was happy to score this sample. Great timing as well given the cold weather and the fact I am in chilly Canberra at this time!I tried it was hot water and again with hot milk. The milk version definitely wins out in terms of taste and offering a more luxurious mouth feel. However I am aware this would negate the 99% fat free claim on the box. I was pleasantly surprised by this product as typically spend more on other brands. However I would be happy to re-purchase this product as required!

Yummy treat. I really liked these hot chocolate sachets. I don't drink coffee or tea or many hot drinks, but do enjoy the occasional hot chocolate but have yet to find a brand that actually tastes nice. This hot chocolate has now changed that! I was sceptical when the instructions said to make with hot water and not milk, but I was pleasantly surprised with how creamy the result was. It was a little sweet for my liking but I just added some extra water to dilute it. I've also made up a sachet with warm milk and it tastes just as good. Thumbs up for the convenience of sachets and a good price. Thumbs down for being a product of Germany, Australian made would be better.

Convenient but still unsure. A product of convenience that would be good to take camping when you don't want to take milk with you. For the first try I made it on water as per the instructions and found it overly sweet, and thin. The inclusion of milk powder was not that effective. For the second sachet I made it on milk and it was better. Instead of saying to make it on water why not add 'or on your preferred milk. ' I was not impressed that it only made a small amount. For the third try I used 250ml of milk and we were finally getting to something I would enjoy drinking. I am slightly perplexed about some of the ingredients. Why would you include reduced fat cocoa (when it doesn't have a lot of fat to start with) and skim milk powder but then add coconut fat? Why ... MoreConvenient but still unsure. Why can't you just keep full fat cocoa and milk powder?Sugar is not the first ingredient but there are still a lot of glucose/sugar and sweeteners in it and I found it too sweet. This product contains 11 ingredients whereas the other 2 hot chocolates I have at home contain 3 (sugar, cocoa powder and chilli) and 4 (sugar, cocoa powder, maize starch and flavour). I guess some of the extra ingredients are so you can make it on water not milk. Ticks for the Cocoa powder being rainforest alliance certified, and for the warning that it contains phenylalanine being in large writing. Also for the statement about Woolies being committed to responsible sourcing, protecting people and reducing their impact on the planet. The best before date on the sachet is hard to read, the sachet cannot be recycled, and it is packed in Germany from multiple origins. (oh dear, I sound really negative.... )I might buy this product if convenience is what I am after.
A bit too sweet for me. Price is not too bad for a box of 10 sachets. I do buy other brands of these type of sachets sometimes but never "only add hot water" - I always add some milk. I did this with these as well - but I found them quite sickly sweet. They only have 1 health star rating - my guess is because of the sugar content. There are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and are Rainforest Alliance Certified which are positives. See here if you'd like to know more info on the Rainforest Alliance Certification - https://www. rainforest-alliance. org/insights/what-does-rainforest-alliance-certified-mean/ The empty box can be recycled; the empty sachet goes in the bin. There is a rather scary and chemically looking ingredient - Phenylalanine but after googling it I personally feel it's not as bad as it's name suggests although the number 1 search result I see is the bolded statement "Phenylalanine can cause intellectual disabilities, brain damage, seizures and other problems in people with PKU. " However, the next sentence and many other search results state "Phenylalanine occurs naturally in many protein-rich foods, such as milk, eggs and meat. Phenylalanine is also sold as a dietary supplement. " It is an amino acid found naturally in the milk of mammals. Maybe it is just reinforcing on the pack of hot chocolate that the product contains milk - it's not vegan. Or to be careful if you have the rare genetic birth defect called PKU (Phenylketonuria). Anyway I've given this sample the taste test and I'm not really into it so personally won't be buying it again just due to that reason.
Sweeter than expected. Found with the other boxed sachets of hot chocolate and coffee. The sachets open using a tear notch on one of the short sides. They tear easily, straight across, not down the packet, resulting in the contents spilling everywhere. I usually don’t trust these openings and just use scissors. I’ve tried four, and every one worked. That deserves a few stars for starters!!I made this according to the packet instructions with hot, not boiling, water. It’s smooth and rich in chocolate flavour, plus sweet. It’s made with only 150mls of water. Just a small little sweet treat. It is sweeter than the usual hot chocolate I have and I usually don’t have low fat, low sugar or light milk when I have a hot chocolate. I don’t have hot chocolate all the time, so ... MoreSweeter than expected. Found with the other boxed sachets of hot chocolate and coffee. Tasty drink. First I made this as recommended with hot water and it tasted fine. Another day I made it with hot frothed milk and that was even better. Especially with a piece of chocolate. It would be good for travelling with a thermos flask. Economical, quick and easy hot drink. I will probably buy more when I have used up my current stock of packaged drinks. A couple of things I am not keen on, is that it is packed in Germany from multiple origins and only has 1 star health rating, though I don't know what comparable rating other hot chocolates have. It has a fraction more protein than a mocha drink made by a different company and about the same amount of sugar, but much more sodium. It is rainforest Alliance certified which is a positive thing. This is also the first time I've seen a note on a coffee/chocolate drink that says it contains phenylalanine. I looked it up and it shouldn't worry most people and is in other foods, so I guess some people should be aware of it, while most of us will be fine. (PKU Phenylketonuria is a birth defect that causes an amino acid called phenylalanine to build up in the body which can damage the brain and nervous system. It is inherited from both parents. Isn't google handy!)
Convenient. Woolworths Hot Chocolate 10 Pack is located in the Coffee/Tea/Hot choc isle in the supermarket alongside other drinking chocolate powders. It comes with a budget friendly price and contains 10 sachets. It has a one star health rating. Easy to follow instruction on each sachet. When following the instructions exactly, my daughter commented that the drink is quite strong tasting. On a second cup, she opted to have warm milk instead and found it to be creamier with a nicer taste. It is a quite chocolatey flavour and my daughter enjoys it with the milk. This would be handy for camping or travelling or even to take to work. Delicious. Tried one with hot water as recommended on the pack (which was not as dreadful as I expected it would be). Was still sweet and chocolaty. I imagine they suggest drinking it with hot water to keep the calories down? I also tried one with hot milk. If you don't care about extra calories it is much nicer with hot milk and has a rich and creamy flavour. I don't usually buy sachets as I like to control how much I use, but the sachets had the perfect amount. I did find it lumpy though with the hot milk. I had to keep stirring it and still ended up with chocolate lumps. I would definitely purchase these sachets.
Nice, cheaper alternative. These Woolworths Hot Chocolate Sachets were easy to find in store with the other hot drink additives and at $3. 25 for 10 sachets I think they're very good value for money. I do like that they have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives but I was disappointed to find that they are packed in Germany with ingredients from multiple origins, although I guess that's why it's able to be so cheap. The hot chocolate themselves are smooth and sweet, while not tasting the same as leading brands they are still quite nice. They're especially great on a cold night. If my favourite hot chocolate brand isn't on special then I will definitely buy these as a good, cheaper substitute.
