Woolworths Olive Oil Spanish Mellow 500ml

Suitable for those who like their oil more mellow. As the heading states this is suitable for those who don't like a strong or even medium flavour from their olive oil. We prefer a much stronger flavour from our olive oil and definitely a good strong extra virgin for salad dressings. Not something I would generally buy as very mild in flavour and just gave a greasy feeling without the olive taste. Not something I would buy again but I know many people prefer a very mild oil and this is perfect for them.

Delicious salad dressing. I have used my sample of Mellow Olive Oil as a delicious salad dressing. 1 tablespoon apple cider, 2 tablespoons Mellow Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon mustard, I used Dijon but any mustard flavour you like, then I added a 1/2 teaspoon of sweetener (sugar). The dressing was light and added a subtle flavour to my salad. I tend to make the dressing as i need it. It can be prepared and drizzled over roast potatoes and adding a few herbs, I particularly like to add Rosemary, fresh from my garden. I can recommend this product.

Lovely and versatile. Loved this oil which has recently had a facelift in the packaging department. I love the newer label, it looks cleaner and more luxe and very appropriate colouring for olive oil. Love that the bottle is recyclable and the price point is affordable too. Cooking with this was great, it doesn't burn even on a medium flame and doesn't change the taste of the food either which I'd expect from a mellow oil. I've used it in stews, fried mushrooms and dough making and it performed superbly. If you're wondering if this is worth a shot I highly recommend it!

Mellow yellow. If the definition of mellow is smooth then this olive oil meets the criteria of being mellow and the colour certainly is yellow. I did not use it as a dressing for salads as it is only a small bottle. I used it all as oil for cooking meals such as crumbed chickens and to initially cook the meat for beef bourguignon. I really liked the olive oil as it was not thick and bland but smooth and it went well with the meals. I can see that it would be a great size to take on picnics and use as a salad dressing or to oil a barbecue hot plate.

Not bad. @$4 a 500ml bottle ($7 for a litre) - it's really not badly priced Easily enough found with all the other oils (I struggled a little as the design was different but then I found the second picture) I thought the initial packaging (pic 1) was cheap looking and prefer the packaging of pic 2 (the bottle I got) - it's a lot classier but doesn't stand out as muchIt's definitely a light oil in the flavour department - I prefer mine to be fuller bodied but this isn't bad. Versatile oil, subtle flavour. I don't use a lot of oil in my diet but the flavour of this was nice, balanced and subtle. Its uses are quite versatile, from using in salad dressings to marinating with but I preferred using it when baking as the taste wasn't profound. I thought that the bottle size was quite convenient and would be suitable for small families or those who don't use oil a lot. As it states on the packaging it is made from Spanish olives but I would prefer to purchase an Australian grown and produced item. Overall, it's a nice alternative and is of good value.

Mellow melody. As the label says, the oil is mellow flavour. Very good for baking muffins and cakes that call for cooking oil. Finished so quickly that I will have to get more. May not be so good for dressings or salads as I like the strong green olive flavour in my olio and dressings. Don't really mind the packaging. The bottle has grooves on both both sides that enable good gripping. Good product. Thank you Woolies.

Nice olive oil. I'll start by saying I don't normally buy olive oil, because I don't like the flavour. However, this one said it was mellow, and I agree. It didn't have a strong flavour like full bodied olive oils do, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a fan of the plastic bottle, it feels very flimsy to me, especially if you accidentally pick it up from the side that has no grips. The mouth of the bottle has a large opening as well, which meant it poured out very quickly, which again, I wasn't a fan of. If I based this review solely on taste, yes, I would purchase again, but the packaging, and the (lack of) ease of use, means that I probably wouldn't.

I decided to use this olive oil and make a loaf of bread thanks to my friend @lovecookrach!I found the flavour very mellow and would happily purchase this again. Okay oil. This oil is a mixture of refined olive oil and 10% extra virgin olive oil and is a product of Spain. It is $4 for 500 ml. The oil has no aroma or taste so is not really suitable for using as a dressing on salads. We used it to cook sausages, the bottle opening is quite large so it was difficult to get only a small amount of oil and the oil did spatter a lot more than our usual oil, (the sausages did taste fine when cooked). I probably wouldn't buy this again as because it is so bland it is really only suitable for cooking with and I generally use an olive oil spray or a very small amount of oil which because of the bottle opening size it was difficult to get a small amount from this product.
