Too thick for a sandwich. The bread TASTES lovely. It's soft and stays soft for longer than 24 hours. My husband recons this ISN'T a good thing but I like it as it means I don't have to go to the local Asian bakery every morning for a loaf of bread that turns into a weird non-square shape the next day. The ONLY thing I'd change is the thickness of this Woolies brand bread. It's very very thick, perfect for a piece of toast but not for my kids school lunch. The thin smear of vegemite is completely hidden between the two thick bits of this bread and she always complains that is too 'bread-y'. Please could you have a thinner cut variety. Cheers.

An okay bread. Look for 2$ you can't expect anything close to a beatiful fresh baked loaf of bread. The bread is large which is great for making jaffers or for kids who don't eat the crust as there is plenty of 'centre' bread remaining after removal of the thin crust. It also has no added sgar which is great. I didn't check the sodium content, but if low, its a decent cheap bread option. The bread itself is okay, it's just a plain wholemeal bread. I wouldn't say its fluffy, more dense, but it is soft. So on a buudget it is cheap, 'better than white bread' option. It has a super chewy, and not at all crisp, crust, which was disappointing as the crust is my favorite part of a loaf.

Very soft! A wonderfully soft bread with a nice texture. We are a wholemeal bread eating household and found this bread to be on par with the more expensive breads we usually buy - perhaps a more processed and finer grain which would make it a great bread for people who don't normally eat wholemeal. I found the ingredients on par with the other breads as well. Only issue was how well it kept - bought it Thursday 29th March and 3 days later had mold spots even though it had one more day on the best before date. Would buy this again - great price,

Good every-day bread. Kids loved it - said it was "fluffy". Good freshness and texture (fresh or toasted) and good flavour with no "bits" that bother. ALSO, stays in one piece. No shower of crumbs! There is a particular brand that just sheds crumbs as you touch it and leaves a trail of mess everywhere you go. Very annoying!Price was great. Good general size and good thickness of slices and reasonable consistency. Smell was okay too - not offensive as some of the cheaper-end breads can be. Compared to Coles equivalent, Woolies' has less sugar and more fibre. More ticks for Woolies. Nice packaging too.
High quality bread, on a beer budget. Have been spending $1. 00 more on other tip top loaves of bread, then Mr 7 asked for a different bread. So we started buying the Woolies brand, but the Multi Grain one. Had been extremely happy with that one, then one day we couldn't buy it as it had sold out. So we thought we'd try another Woolies loaf. Now we have 2 yummy loaves to switch between. This Wholemeal loaf is a winner, cheaper does not mean it's going to lack taste. Far from it, top bread for less dollars. You can't beat that. Easy to locate, love the look of the packaging. Made with at least 95% Aussie ingredients. One thing thou Woolies, you need to update your product site. As it states that it's made with at least 90% Aussie ingredients. Have had it plain, and ... MoreHigh quality bread, on a beer budget. Have had it plain, and toasted. Very impressed with the flavour of each slice. Sandwiches, toasties, soldiers for dipping eggs, french toast. Love the taste so much, have half with Vegemite and the other just with marg. The list just goes on and on. Will never go back to top brand breads again, this will do Baybee's family just fine.
Family Staple... Child Approved! Ahhh bread. That family staple that just NEEDS to be on hand at all times. Essential for that morning breakfast toast, school sandwiches, toasted sandwiches for a lazy weeknight dinner and after-school-I’m-STARVING toast with peanut butter for Miss 8. Like many parents, I have struggled to get my munchkins to eat anything other than highly processed less-than-desirable white bread (yes, Miss 8, I’m looking at you!) Thank you, Woolworths for the magic solution to my problem! Both Mr 1 and Miss 8 eat this smooth, grain-free wholemeal bread happily and without complaint. This bread is soft and delicious! The crusts are not too hard or chewy either, which is great for little people who try to avoid eating them at all costs. It keeps its freshness quite well (although in my household, it doesn’t last more than a few days anyway). It also freezes and defrosts beautifully. $2. 20 for a 700g loaf is excellent value for money and budget friendly (particularly when you compare it to the very similar Wonder White Smooth Wholegrain which is $3. 40 for 700g) Made in Australia from at least 90% Australian ingredients No added sugar No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives Packaging that can be returned to store to be recycledThis is now the only bread that you will find peeking out of my shopping trolley. It is a winner!
Great value, great taste. i had never seen this bread on the shelves before but now that I’ve tried it I will definitely buy again. i compared it to my normal (more expensive) bread and as I’m a label reader compared the two labels. this bread has more protein (which I like) but less fibre (which I don’t like). it also has less carbohydrates (which I like) and fat is very comparable. The bread is nice and soft and I’m impressed overall. the price is great also. i will definitely buy again.
Malty yeast flavour: good as sandwich bread & toast... This was my Limited Release sample & although we favour wholegrain bread over white I had not tried this before but was very pleased with the taste, texture & overall quality of this bread. It had a lovely malty yeast flavour that enhanced the taste of the basic sandwich fillings I used with it (eg. sliced cheese with gerkhin pickle, ham & tomato, salmon & cucumber with phili cheese); also served as a nice toast bread to serve with scrambled egg. The smooth yet dense texture of the bread was a nice change from multigrain (given the high fibre content of both). I would keep this bread as a standby staple in my pantry/freezer.
Soft and affordable. I actually tasted this bread for the first time when I went to a friend’s house for a cuppa and ended up staying for five hours. I discovered two things about that outing, a) I can’t take a hint when someone wants me to leave and that b) when she fed me a peanut butter sandwich during my lengthy stay, I left thinking I just HAD to buy a loaf on my next trip to the shops. I ended up purchasing it the same week, because I couldn’t get over how soft it was. To find it was super affordable was also an added bonus! The only downside is that it doesn’t stay as soft as other smooth wholemeal products on the market. A little too smooth. My family didn’t love this bread - it was far too ‘smooth’ and really didn’t seem like a wholemeal loaf. It very much resembled white bread, and seemed overly processed, which defeats the purpose of eating a brown bread. Having said that, it would really suit people who prefer white bread but want the nutritional value of wholemeal. It was however, fresh and soft when first purchased, and froze well. We used this loaf for fresh sandwiches, then toast. I liked that the slices were square, and not rounded edges as well. Overall, I wouldn’t buy this again, as my family prefers a more grainy bread, but it was great value at $2 a loaf.
