Premium Tuna and Great Price. I recently trailed the Essentials Tuna in Oil as part of Bunch and whilst it was good value for money this one trumps even the premium brands, and it is only. 20 c more expensive than the Essentials Range. As with the Essentials range and even the premium brands, this tuna is packed in Thailands from multiple origins. Importantly, it is FAD Free, meaning it tuna has been caught without disturbing other fish or the ocean bed. Great that it comes with a handy ring-pull. Well priced tasty tuna. I've tried the same tuna in oil (bunch sample). This tuna in spring water is drier by comparison. Guess the oil helps to make it more tender. Inspired by @zoebingleyp tips from her article on "What you eat affects your energy" I decided to make a salad with the tuna. I drained the tuna and then flaked the chunks easily into smaller pieces. Mixed it together with homemade guacamole & pickled green chillies, some cooked black rice from the fridge. Season to taste. Fast, simple enjoyable meal. Awesome refuel after a busy morning. Will definitely buy again as a pantry staple.

Sustainable and healthy brain food. My preference has always been for the name brand that's been around for years (since I was a kid!) but this one is a good priced and reasonable tasting alternative. Chunks of protein rich tuna in this generous sized can easily satisfies two alongside a salad. (Can't see me ever eating tuna on it's on without an accompanying salad!). Actually fed three as the cat loved the fishy tasting springwater drained from the can before serving! Find the somewhat bland taste of tuna in springwater OK as then I can add my own olive oil or other dressings to suit individual taste preferences and I know I'm paying for the fish rather than other ingredient additions. Nice Tuna. I had this for my lunch today with some crisp bread. When I open the lid, there's a nice big chuck of tuna in it, not like other brands, the tuna was already flaked and there is more oil in it than fish. I did not add any pepper or salt in it as the seasoning was just right for me. It was delicious, it is as good as any well-known brands. The ingredients are tuna, extra virgin oil and sunflower oil, they look like healthy ingredients but it has only a 3. 5 star health rating, this could be due to the higher percentage of sunflower oil than the olive oil in the can. I read that too much sunflower oil may be negative for our health, but consuming small amounts of sunflower oil may provide marginal benefits for heart health. Delicious quality convenient well priced. With “Yellowfin Tuna in oil” on the front of the yellow and green tin it’s was easily recognisable from the other brands. The tuna tasted delicious just like tuna should, and it wasn’t too dry like some tuna brands. out there The oil in this tuna is a combination of sunflower oil and olive oilWhen making a sandwich I try and drain as much oil away from the tuna. But when making my Penne, Tomato & Green Bean pasta dish, I used the oil from the tin instead. And also when making a tuna salad I like to use a little of the oil in my salads dressing too Normally I buy brand name tuna, though since trying this “Yellowfin Tuna” I’m convinced it’s just as good as name brands. Nice chunky tuna. Really nice tuna. Chunky tuna rather than the mushy stuff you get with some of the other brands. The yellow fin has a much better taste than the skipjack tuna that is in some other similar products. The tuna was also not too oily and not dry. Was great on a sandwich and would be nice in a salad. Nice to see that the tuna is responsibly sourced and dolphin friendly. Would like it to be MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) Certified and a product of Australia (which I don't believe many canned fish varieties are) as produced in Thailand from multiple origins isn't very helpful or reassuring. Otherwise a nice tasting and convenient product.

Great tasting but not clear on origins. So, based off taste alone - this would be a 5 star rating. Nice big flakes and good flavour and colour. I prefer springwater to oil and the ratio was more fish than water. For budget tuna (honestly, we all know Sirena is the top tier, but also top dollar) it's pretty good!I'm not 100% clear on the sustainable factor though. The labelling says 'more' environmentally friendly and 'more' sustainable, caught by pole and line. And thought it meets regulations, it's doesn't seem to imply that it is a wholly sustainable practice, just more responsible than overfishing by trawler. So, although it's a good start, I'm not 100% happy with the origin of Thailand, from mixed sources. More transparency would be much better for this product. ... MoreGreat tasting but not clear on origins. So, based off taste alone - this would be a 5 star rating. Better than expected. I was pleasantly surprised to find this large tin of tuna contained two good sized pieces, not little flakes of fish. I liked the flavour and the texture was firm. I'm using it on sandwiches as I'm the only canned fish eater in the household. It would probably make good fishcakes, but my partner wouldn't eat them as he assures me he can always tell if canned fish is used. It is packed in Thailand, like most tinned fish, from multiple origins. FAD free, meaning it's caught without fish aggregating devices and is dolphin safe. The can and lid are recyclable in the kerbside bin. I usually avoid tuna in spring water because it can be tasteless, however this was flavousome and well priced at only $2. 00 for 185g. I would certainly consider buying it ... MoreBetter than expected. I was pleasantly surprised to find this large tin of tuna contained two good sized pieces, not little flakes of fish. Budgeter’s and dieter’s friend. I always purchased the named brand equivalent at double to triple the cost. For what? For the past few years this little $2 cheapie is the only tuna that goes into my shopping trolley as I have found it to be outstanding in every way. Always located on the lowest shelf and adorned with the classic green and yellow Woolies label, it’s easy to find. I do double check that the tuna is not packed in water as the cans are side by side and sometimes get mixed. This tuna is packed in Thailand and caught in the Pacific Ocean like lots of other brands. The can has a ring pull that makes it easy to open and the whole tin is recyclable. The tuna itself is always in large pale flakes and I have never experienced finding anything other than this. ... MoreBudgeter’s and dieter’s friend. Tuna is high in protein and omega 3 and low in calories. It is a really versatile ingredient as it can be eaten as it is in a salad, mixed with a dressing in melts or as a sandwich filling or used in fish cakes, a mornay to name just a few. It suits breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bonus is convenience and long, unrefrigerated storage. Salads of all types is our favourite use. A 185g can, drained, easily serves 2. ….. $1. 00 a head … way to go!

Very good. The type of fish (Yellowfin Tuna) appealed to me. I used to enjoyed fresh - caught off the Narooma coast back in the day, so I was keen to try Woolies branded. 4. 5 health star rating is appealing. On front of the label, below the health star rating is 'FAD Free' I've never noticed this on canned fish before. On opening the can, the first thing I noticed was the colouring. Light pink and consistent - no dark meat. And a full slice of fish, not mush. Also the springwater was minimal - just enough to coat the fish and not salty. Overall an excellent product. A healthy, tasty, light snack or meal option. Yum on sourdough toast with Kewpie mayo, lemon juice and cracked black pepper
