My husband and I bought this pairing knife, a long with the 6" and 8" Chef knives with olive wood handles. The grain of wood is unique to each handle and so gorgeous. We used a little mineral oil to coat the handles and it really brought out the colors in the wood. We love this pairing knife. The shape of the belly is just a smidge different than a traditional pairing knife. It makes cutting fruit a joy! These knives are pricey, no lie, but truly a work of art and something we use everyday!
