Absolutely the best!

After years of searching for a good steak knife that doesn’t pull the meat apart, finally found the one that slices through with no effort. Slices as thin or as thick as you want. And it stays sharp through so many uses. Haven’t had the need to sharpen at all.

Decent lower-tier knife

These Wusthof Gourmet steak knives are a very nice second-tier product. I have only owned them for a couple of months, but I have found them to be sharp – and more importantly (because EVERY new knife comes to you sharp) – easy to keep sharp. They are well-balanced and sit well in the hand.I haven't seen the problem with rust spots that other reviewers have noted, perhaps because I take care to dry all of my knives immediately after washing. I am puzzled by the broken-tip problem that at least one reviewer reported, too.

Feel cheap.

I purchased these steak knives to replace a few of our current Wusthof steak knives that we have had for over 15 years. I thought these were the same thing, but when they came they were much cheaper feeling and did not have the same craftsmanship as those we currently own (which must be the "Classic" version). While double the price, the Classic knives are much nicer. I wish I had bought those instead.

Just Okay
26 March 2023

I am disappointed in these knives. They blade is flimsy and there is a burr on the point of one knife. They cut only slightly better than our old ones, which are cheap grocery store knives. For the price, I expect better.

Not quite the quality of our first Wusthoff knives
18 April 2021

We've owned a set of Wusthoff knives for about 8-10 years. Lost the original paring knife in the rubbish probs while chopping veggies. These were on sale & we were looking for steak knives. A little disappointed - as these knives blades are much thinner than our original set of knives. They also don't seem to wash well, at ALL!. Have been washing all the Wusthoffs by hand to keep them in good condition, for years. These however are not made of good quality stainless steel & are much lighter than the equivalent knives we already own. The paring knife & other utility knife are similarly thin, stain easier, dont clean properlt & feel substandard. Such a pity

Quality lacking
9 March 2022

I have had these knives for just over a month - very sharp and feel decent. However, with very little use and proper hand washing one of the knives has already lost a screw cover and I suspect this is likely to happen with others. Very disappointing.

Rusting already
8 September 2021

I bought these knives about 2 weeks ago. Instead of hand washing them, my husband put them in the dishwasher. After one wash, they are rusty already. I understand hand washing is preferred but they should rust that quickly. Highly disappointed. Go for the expensive ones.

Second set to go along
18 May 2022

Second set to go along with existing knives. Originals had Wusthof "sticker" logos. Newer ones have an imprint logo that is slightly different from the original. Greatly improved, but presents a problems for matching cutlery.

Standards have dropped
17 September 2014

I put these knives on our wedding registry so we could replace some older Wusthof Gourmet steak knives we'd had for several years. Two or three of our old knives had the tips break off.We were happy to receive these, and put them in the block alongside our others from a few years ago. The new knives developed rust spots within a week of normal use. We treat the new ones exactly the same as the ones we've had for years. The old ones show some wear like you might expect, but nothing as bad as the new knivesWhat I do like is that they aren't serrated so they don't rip the meat, and the composite handle means you don't have to worry about wet wood. They seem substantial and well constructed, aside from the rust spots and the tendency to break at the tip.

Wonderful Set!
7 May 2018

These knives were just what I was looking for to replace my old set. I wanted knives that were not serrated, so that I could easily sharpen them myself once it became necessary. But these are SOOO sharp that I don't anticipate having to sharpen them for quite a while! They also have a very nice weight to them which makes them very comfortable to handle. I wanted a set of six, though, (my only complaint) and so I ordered another set after testing the first one. I don't mind the extras; these are that nice!
