Overall I got a few of these to add onto my outdoor plugs for Christmas, Halloween, etc decorations. Most of the plugs are either under a porch or garage but one is out in the full rain/elements. They still work flawlessly, respond quickly, work perfect with the Google Home app. I also like that the head of the plug goes straight in and it's not a 90 degree angle so you can still use the other outlet on the plug/wall. The build feels quality and looks very clean and modern. WiFi range has had no issues even at a building on the other side of our yard.

The Wyze outdoor plugs my son talked me into getting for our outdoor Christmas decorations work great! So much better then the timer plugs I had last year. Easy to set up. I have so many more options and can control them with my phone when we are out of town. I’m going to get more for my indoor lamps now that I know how easy they are to set up. And I’m not particularly good at these type of tech devices (I’m an artist not a techy). I already have the cameras and love being able to check on what’s happening inside when we are not there. Really pleased with these Wyze products so far!

Been wanting this outlet and bought on sale. I spent the 1st 4 days trying reconnecting to Wi-Fi. Would connect then shortly after would be offline. Attempted over and over update software and couldn’t. I sent a log to Wyze and just when I was about to return I tried once more to update and miraculously it worked. Several days of using to control patio lights and works great. I’m very good with electronics and with some programming experience, so I know it wasn’t me. The difficulties I experienced is only reason for 3 stars. Love it now that works as advertised.

Over all I like the Wyze plug. It is very affordable, easy to set up and easy to build schedules. I like being able to run different schedules for each outlet on the plug. I have two problems with the plug. First is the cap. The cap is not well attached to the case. It falls off easily once you choose to use one of the outlets. This appears to allow water into the case at the point where the cap should be attached as I have had my GFI tripped twice in damp weather. The other problem is the case around the outlet is not wide enough to accommodate the "brick" on the end of the ornament that I need to plug in for control. This could also cause moisture to get into the plug. I had to buy an adapter to go between the outlet and the plug to solve this problem.
Like other products from Wyze these plugs combine a smart design with great performance all at the fairest price on the market. In that regard these plugs are 5 star. My only issue is with the app. Programming the plugs isn’t as simple as some other ones I own. Maybe a choice between simple and advanced set up could be added. I bought these for my father-in-law and in his words all he wants to do is say what time to turn it on and what time to turn it off, all on one screen- simple. As it is now you must set up a “rule” for on and a separate rule for off on multiple screens after choosing “actions” with multiple “saves”. Not as intuitive as it could be. In the end, they work but if I were to buy again for a “tech-challenged” person I would go with another plug.
I usually love Wyze products, but it seems that this outdoor outlet was not engineered with a lot of practical experience in the real world or a lot of competitive research. Most of the other outdoor plugs I’ve ordered are built with a right-angle plug so the cord lies flat along the wall. This is particularly important when the outlet is plugged in inside a weatherproof protective box that goes over the outlet. With the plug sticking straight out, the weatherproof outlet cover will not close unless I bend the cord significantly, which risks damaging the cord. Other outlets, including from low-cost manufacturers like Vavofo, offer the 90-degree plug. I’d like to see Wyze redesign this product the same way, or offer it as an option.
Everything about this product is great. It's easy to use and works almost flawlessly.Where the issue is for me is in the scheduling. I can tell the schedule to isolate one or the other plug and very inconsistently it does both.i.e. I have a camera plugged into one and string lights into the other. I have a schedule that should turn off the lights at sunrise but leave the camera alone (same schedule works fine for all other lights). Often, my camera shuts off at sunrise as well and I have to turn it back on.
Solid units. They do what they are supposed to. I have v3 cams plugged into these 500 miles away to use in the event one of my Wyze v3s need to be power cycled. Turn the plug off then on…….works like a dream. Had my landscape timer fail. Rather than spending hundreds on a new timer I turned the lights on and plugged them into the Wyze plug. Works perfectly. I’ve had one outside in the elements for well over a year and still working without a hitch. This plug is a sound investment.

Initially I can plug it in and walk thru the setup into the app. The app INSTANTLY tells me I need a FW upgrade. Can't do anything else with the device until that happens. OK annoying, but whatever. Push the update. Device never comes back and continually resets. Device is bricked. Won't connect to wifi or the app. Yes, my phone is on the same network, and yes, I have a strong signal. The support article suggesting to move it closer to the wifi access point is BS when I'm only 10 ft away with no obstructions. Remote turn on/off, scheduling, and power rate monitoring. The wifi on it seems a bit weak, but it tends to work even with a low signal.The material it's made out of feels nice and high quality. Doesn't seem to get warm under load. Short but thick cord which is preferred; a longer cord would probably heat up too much.All-in-all a great design. No complaints. I bought two of them and they are working well.
