Technical User. I purchased unit on sale after reading reviews and verifying it supports xbox, and phone and windows via bluetooth (no adapter for windows required). Also, the instructions show the same as bluetooth pairing works without any adaptor for any devices. I pushed both xbox button and pairing button (3 to 5 seconds) , assuming something would light up or sound pairing mode, but nothing. 3 pcs and phone showed no controller in pairing mode. Strange. So I took the unit to a store and had them play with it and they agreed it should work without adapter and also show up on a phones bluetooth list. They agreed they would think something should light up. Batteries were verified as good and properly inserted.Next they pulled another new unit and same results. ... MoreTechnical User. Still wouldn't show in phone blueotooth menu after pressing pairing button for 3 to 5 seconds, multiple times. No indication the unit even powered on?Bestbuy employees could not explain and offered to exchange with a similar unit with a dongle but were confused why microsoft has a dongle version when this unit didn't require one. Sadly, the sale price I paid for the original unit was $40 and the replacement was not on sale for 80 so I just took a refund. I had 2 $20 wired controllers that work fine with windows laptops.Either bad units are shipping, or major bad design and improper documentation and lack of requirement of a specific dongle is required. BestBuy employees were also unaware what is going on.

PC gamer here who recently switched from console. Still enjoy playing certain titles on controller (more immersive in my opinion) and also use these for splitscreen multiplayer- I purchased 2 total recently. Love the color (bright green) but I assume others don’t feel the same since these in particular are often on sale compared to the rest lol. No matter for me though, got one on Black Friday for either $35 or $40 and the second one near Christmas for the same price or maybe $5 more. These feel comfortable in my smaller hands compared to ps5 controllers and have used these for long gaming sessions with no issues. Responsive controllers and solid battery life. My only issue with these controllers is their Bluetooth connectivity to non Xbox devices is just okay. Minor obstructions/ interference can some disconnect the controllers during use. For example, if I’m sitting very close to my wooden desk (my tower sits on top) and my hands hold the controller underneath the desk- the controller will disconnect because of the 1 inch of hardwood between it and my pc. Perhaps Xbox controllers have always been like these but I hadn’t noticed in the past. I also had one instance where after the controller disconnected from Bluetooth, it kept vibrating randomly even when not in use. Updated the firmware on both controllers but isssues still persisted. My solution has been to adjust the position I play in, or wire the controllers to my pc. Not great solutions but for now they work. May try a ps5 controller next to see if they play any nicer with pc than these Xbox controllers. Overall still happy with my purchase- matching controllers for me and the fiancé under $90. 4/5 for pc gaming but will post as 5 stars since im not exactly using these for their “intended” purpose.

Do I love it? Yes. Are there things that could be improved? Yes. But, I got it on a fair sale so I can’t complain much. However, I think my purchase price should be the regular price.Good: the joysticks, the ABYX buttons, menu buttons, as well as the main X button are all colored to match the controller. And it looks sooo good (any color looks good, really). I really like the black front/top on the bumpers, triggers, and pairing button panel. Looks awesome. The bad: I don’t like that the back of the controller is white. It seems they didn’t fully invest the time&resources to make the colored controllers 100%. Seems like they decided to just save a lot of money by not adding colored controllers to their production line and instead using the same, white, controller ... MoreDo I love it? Yes. I’m just surprised that the same company that produces the Xbox, sells the controllers half finished. The texture on the bumpers LB&RB is not on the main part of the bumper that is normally used; instead it is on the bottom, sloped part of the bumper(basically just an extension of the texture on the triggers LT/RT)…I use the top, main part of the LB,RB bumpers like most people, so the texture does’t help me at all. Also, the texture on the handles is OK, but it is plastic and faint. The texture does slightly help the grip and feels comfortable, but it is faint and still allows slip.

Good controller, it's a slight update from the existing xbox One controller.Physically it feels the same as my old controller. Buttons feel good not too soft and not super clicky like some 3rd party controllers. There is a slight change to the battery door, the old door it is angled slightly to the front of the controller and where it meets the bezel at the charge port it sweeps out: the new xbox Series X/S controller it's more straight without the bent sweep by the bezel it feels more flush to that bezel.Rechargable battery, the original charge and play battery pack from Microsoft will indeed fit in this controller, you do have to use a USB-C cable to charge it but it does work and does charge, you lose the tiny charging light indicator though (it was removed ... This may smooth out with repeated use.I got mine in White to match my computer case and I do like the fact that the front bezel is also white. I also like the A, B, X, Y buttons being colored and not the same color as the blue, neon green, and red controllers. All in all it's a solid controller with very minor upgrades and cosmetic changes.
I was looking for a controller for PC and since Xbox controllers are supposed to work flawlessly with it, I ended up with this. I’ve only used it occasionally since I ended up not being able to play much with my toddler around, so it ended up collecting dust.Cue last week where I got myself a gaming laptop. Got this out from the shelf and used it to play about 2 hours a day, and I slowly noticed the buttons gradually double pressing, tilting the joystick forward has some kind of lag. It’s been a year so I’m definitely SOL with warranty but I was hoping some kind of paid repair. Microsoft said nope, no repairs on out of warranty stuff.I looked into it further, turns out these controllers only have a 90 day warranty vs Sony’s 1 year. Looking back to my old ... Microsoft said nope, no repairs on out of warranty stuff.I looked into it further, turns out these controllers only have a 90 day warranty vs Sony’s 1 year. Looking back to my old controllers, it ends up getting drift or jankiness down the road.Would I recommend this? Well, I guess it’s a cheap controller especially if you get it on sale. But I feel like it’s a ripoff that they can’t even guarantee the device for at least a year. And no repair/replacement options (even paid) once you’re out of warranty. People give a ton of criticism with Apple about repair, but they give you the option to replace a damaged device (although expensive) as long as they don’t consider it obsolete.
I bought this controller for use with my PC; replacing the mouse and keyboard. This device comes with no directions; just a piece of paper with 5 pictures showing each of the steps. When I first installed this controller it worked very well, but it rumbled, which I wanted to disable. As I said, there were no directions supplied, so, I went online downloaded the Xbox accessory app and that seemed to do the trick. After thirty minutes of gameplay, it stopped. The dongle would no longer pair with the controller. I exchanged it and the new controller also would not pair with its dongle. IDK why, but it did pair with the Bluetooth native to my computer’s motherboard, but now I had the problem of turning off the rumble. The profile for the controller, that I created ... The dongle would no longer pair with the controller. I exchanged it and the new controller also would not pair with its dongle. IDK why, but it did pair with the Bluetooth native to my computer’s motherboard, but now I had the problem of turning off the rumble. The profile for the controller, that I created needed a cable attachment to edit that feature. While attached to the cable the controller worked perfectly, but as soon as I disconnected it; the rumble came back. Fortunately, I went to the apps page and read a harsh review that suggested using the steam controller setup found in the Steam setting menu. Steam recognized the controller and allowed me to turn off the rumble feature. Will this setup work with non-Steam games IDK. Does the dongle that came with my controller work, IDK as I have since returned it its box, and I don’t use it. Was the first controller I bought a good one, again IDK and Geek squad shrugged their shoulders and said the controller was probably bad and exchanged. There was no trouble shooting advice that came with the device and I was left pretty much on my own stumbling around trying to figure it out. This is my second purchase recently that I probably exchanged a perfectly good device for another; solely because I could not get to the right person. The controller itself is solid. I bought the rechargeable battery packs and I get several hours of play per charge. The device would get 5 stars, but the lack of good documentation, and the absence of knowledgeable tech support. That is what gives this purchase 4 stars; the support not the device.

This bundle is currently the only realistic way to get a new-style Xbox wireless adapter for a PC, as the standalone product is seemingly discontinued. Downside to this is that you're locked into the standard black controller design as it's the only one available as a bundle.A great controller, feels good after previously using Xbox 360 wireless controller + its separate adapter. Noticing improved battery life over 360 controller using the same rechargeable AA batteries.Surprisingly though, I ended up not needing the adapter at all. Despite conflicting information online (Microsoft's own guide says "Vibration (or “rumble”) features aren’t supported for the Xbox Wireless Controller when connected via Bluetooth."), the controller is fully functional on PC over Bluetooth (except for attachments to the controller like a headset adapter, but who uses those?). It's possible this only applies to model 1914 (Series X|S controller). So while I fully recommend this product, you may not need it if your computer has Bluetooth Low Energy capabilities. But if you want to be sure it works with your PC, you can't go wrong with this bundle.
