The flexibility alone will make me buy another. It's hard to believe compared to other 4/3 suits I own that way me down and are difficult to remove. With temps dropping like they have been, it keeps me warm the entire session without worries.

The XCEL men's 4/3 comp wetsuit was a huge game changer when I first started surfing. The first time I went surfing, I wore an old volcom wetsuit that I had used for scuba diving, mainly in warm water. I live in the Bay Area where the water is around 55 degrees, and usually while in the water, the fog is covering the sun alongside heavy winds. Needless to say, it gets very cold. Using my old wetsuit, I was only able to last 30 minutes to an hour in the water before I had to get out. After building up the courage to spend some money on a wetsuit, I had done some research to find that this one was perfect for me. This wetsuit is 100% worth its price. After building up the courage to spend some money on a wetsuit, I had done some research to find that this one was perfect for me. This wetsuit is 100% worth its price. After using it for about 4 months, I’ve realized how similar the features are to other wetsuits that are around the $500-700 range. It fits perfectly (I’m 5’9) and has a front chest zipper, which I love. When I start walking into the water, I often don’t feel it until about 15 minutes later (which shows the quality). Once I paddle out and sit in the water, I don’t even notice the frigid temperature and can’t feel the wind, even in choppy weather. On an extremely windy, choppy day, I can last about two hours in the water before being cold enough to get out. On a good day, I have spent three and a half hours in the water. The front zipper is a great addition and very well designed. When laying down on my board, I can’t feel the zipper pressing against my chest. I also don’t have to worry about having a back zipper that often unzips and is harder to manage. Alongside the zipper, the padding around the knees is awesome. The durability of the padding allows me to repeatedly get up on my board without hurting my knees or cause any soreness later in the day. Out of 8 reviews, 100% had given it 5 stars. If you want a flexible, light, stretchy, and easy on and off suit, this is the one I would recommend. It feels more sustainable than other 4/3 regular suits, feeling slightly thicker which makes it easier to be in the cold water. If you're a surfer, the best feature is the flexibility around the shoulders and arms. It became significantly easier to paddle out and keep some decent cardio throughout the entire session. Given the materials and if well maintained, you could use it for up to 3 seasons (depending on how much you use it). I have mainly owned volcom and even billabong wetsuits, but after owning this wetsuit I will most likely buy my next one from XCEL. The wetsuit has been a transformative upgrade for my surfing experience in the cold waters. It's a perfect fit, has superior insulation, and thoughtful design features, such as the front zipper and chest padding, make it an excellent investment.

This suit is so good. Check out the 2mm too. Freaking mental! I love this suit. It keeps me warm and helps me land huge rotations...just kidding. I feel like I'm wearing trunks without the drag in this thing though.
I really love this wetsuit and I've bought it multiple times, it fits me great. For someone who surfs every couple of days it usually last me almost two years which is a lot longer than most of the Oneil suits that I have owned. My only complaint is that after some wear, the glued seams surrounding the stomach/chest material always begins to peal apart. Evo was very easy to by purchase online from. In fact I was a little hesitant about buying this product for such a cheap discount assuming it wouldn't be the same model. My purchase went smoothly, the product was the same as if I had bought it for twice as much in the store and it arrived on time. Overall, I'm very happy with this company and I would buy again from them.
Bought this near the beginning of summer and have had the chance to use it 7-8 times now. Used in both cold lakes and warm lakes all over BC. It is super comfortable and fits really well. I’m 6’1’ 165 lbs so I went with the medium tall. I’ve always gotten way too cold way too quickly in any water. I also have a fear of drowning and am not the strongest swimmer partly because I have next to no body fat and all muscle so I sink like a rock and it takes emended effort to stay afloat. So this wetsuit is awesome at keeping me warm and helping me float easier so swimming is enjoyable and I don’t worry about drowning anymore. 10/10 would buy again. I would say it seems to be well made and of a better quality however it’s my first wetsuit so what do I know.
Compared to my youth size 16 comp x, the men’s xs comp suit fits great except the neck. It feels like a blood choke, hopefully it stretches or else I’ll need to have it altered. I like that there is a key stash on the chest zip. My comp x has nothing for a key (previous season).
I'd bought an Xcel size M 3/2 flatlock in the store (160lb 5' 11" M) so was pretty confident buying the same size 4/3 comp over the internet. It's also a perfect fit. Only tried it twice over the last week (US Gulf coast, 56F water, 60F air, breezy) and no problem at all over 2hr sessions in the water (also 3mm gloves and boots). A little flushing down the neck once or twice when getting pounded by waves (my fitting possibly?), but most the time I didn't really think about what I was wearing. Comfort level - Goldilocks. Not too traumatic getting on and off either. Will definitely get again if this lasts more than a few seasons.
Picked up 4/3 Xcel Comp and travel up to the central coast of California. Water is cold up here in Morro Bay and new suit is keeping my core nice and warm. Great fit. I am 5'8" and 190LBS and my LS size suit fits perfect. I surfed till the sunset so no real warmth from the sun I was still warm. It's about 60 in day and upper 40's at night and after rinsing my suit and hanging inside out, the inside lining was dry in morning. Once again it is not too warm here at night. Much lighter than my other brand 4/3. Flexibility when paddling is great, better than my Other Brand. Even though it is the lowest of the series , duck diving through the break I did not get flushed so I retained all the warmth I had and was not flooded with cold water. The neck has a sealed liner the sleeve and leg cuffs do not. Great suit just as warm as my more expensive suit costing $500 compared to the current $224 price tag this suit has. First use; two thumbs up!! If I get a chance I will try and write a follow up in a few months as far as longevity of seams and how well it is in general holding up.
Like the other review, this is my first suit, it feels much more stretchy and comfortable than other similar wetsuits I tried on from Buell and Bare, maybe slightly stiffer than an O'Neill, but great movement in the underarms and kept me plenty warm for 4 hrs at a time in 11 degree water. Lining is very nice against skin and the collar is nice and easy to pull over but seals very well.Basically, stoked!
