*Update* Quite BIOS vs Quiet Proifle ---- Very fast, faster than the 3080 Ti, but annoyingly loud and too big. I still love it!

If it wasn't for that I was seriously thinking of reselling this card and getting something else. ---Original Review--- I'm not gonna go into too much detail. I'm not a reviewer, just your average gamer who games. So from a technical standpoint I wouldn't be the guy to go to, but from a gamer's point of view. It's fantastic! I have a 32" 4K 144 Hz Gigabyte Aorus monitor and I'm getting over 100 Frames in most games with every slider to as far as it'll go to the right lol. Max everything! The biggest gripe is it's size and how loud it is when it cools past... say 75%. I don't know the actual percentage, but once it starts going it's louder than my PS4 was when I had a PS4. It's so annoying, but thankfully, it calms down after a little bit. But it will ramp back up. Overall, I'm happy!

Best AMD GPU I've ever bought

Ever since AMD bought ATI, I've had high hopes for there being a real competitor to nVidia. Only in the last few years has that actually started to happen though, at least in my opinion. These cards definitely live up to the hype. I've been following development of these cards since the announcement of RDNA 2 and their initial release. I refused to give in to the scalper prices during the last couple of years though so I waited until now to pull the trigger on this particular card once it went on sale again. I've had good luck with XFX in the past and would definitely recommend their products again. The last three builds I've had were a double 980 TI in SLI, a 1080 TI, and before this a 2080 TI. All of those were solid cards and builds and I've always been happy with their performance right out of the box. This card blew me away with what it can do in terms of performance. I've yet to throw any game at it on max settings that it can't play easily with a near 60 FPS average (capped) and I've easily broken every personal best in 3dmark and a few other benchmarking tools I use a lot. By broken, I also mean its not even close. Granted - this card out-classes my previous card, but when comparing it to similar builds with nVidia cards, it consistently scores at or usually higher with comparable cards in the same class or category. I'd been hesitant to say that there is finally some real competition to nVidia up to this point, but now I can honestly say that it is finally true. If you are on the fence right now and wondering if you should upgrade, I would without question say yes to buying this card especially with the current sale happening.

Best air cooled XTX-H GPU

With just 2 PCI-E connectors, you won't really get this card over 2800 so the unlocked XTX-H core is more for bragging rights than anything practical. Having said that, mine will do 2790 core on 1200mv (max stock voltage), with some tolerable fan noise in the 2100rpm range. Bu that is NOT the best part. Undervolting and overclocking this absolute PEACH of a GPU is where the magic happens. You lose around 40-50 MHz due to AMD's thermal/wattage management algorithm. But I was able to get the following presets: - 2540 core (2500 effective) @ 1138mv, Fan peaked @ 1400rpm (inaudible), Max hot spot 60c - 2640 core (2600 effective) @ 1144mv, Fan peaked @ 1500rpm (inaudible), Max hot spot 65c - 2740 core (2700 effective) @ 1150mv, Fan peaked @ 1600rpm (barely audible), Max ... MoreWith just 2 PCI-E connectors, you won't really get this card over 2800 so the unlocked XTX-H core is more for bragging rights than anything practical. But trying to get near 2750 required a bit more finesse. And getting near 2800 required max voltage, a higher fan speed, resulting in more noise and more heat. The small performance gain over 2700 is not worth it IMHO. And 2700 @ 1150mv (50mv undervolt) on an AIR COOLED 6900xt is a great result. Very pleased! XFX did a GREAT job on this card!

Excellent card

Highly recommended. Works out of the box on my Linux computer (Debian testing, with Linux 5.17.3, Mesa 21.3.8), with MSI MEG Creation X399 with Threadripper 2950X.I updated from dated AMD Radeon R9 Fury X (FIJI, 4GB HBM, water cooled), which I loved, but amount of VRAM was too low, and performance showed up to be dated in some newer titles. With this card I got massive performance gains, and now I can play very smoothly some old titles, I needed to stop playing, due to poor performance.I was hunting for RX 6900 XT since January 2021, and finally got one at the end of May 2022. I was deliberating getting water cooled one, but decided against it (my case can fit 2x120 radiator, but it would be not that great, and decided just a good triple fan design would do as good).Long story short, it is good. I was afraid the card will be very heavy, and while it is massive, and weights a bit, it is not as bad, for the size it is actually pretty light. Installed it into my mobo and case, secured with just 2 screws, and it sits very stable, not sagging or stress on motherboard. The card is super silent. It uses similar amount of power to my old water cooled Fury X (300W peak), maybe a little more, but does really well in cooling. While my water cooled Fury X, would stay <40°C at all time, and close to 30°C at idle, this one goes way more warm, about 55°C idle, and 90°C at full load. The peak power usage is about 300-350W. This is with standard profile and unchanged default fan curves (no idea how to change them under Linux easily). At full load, it gets warm indeed, but fans are still not audible, so if you want more boost, and better temps, adjusting fan curves, would help it. Still 90°C is perfectly normal, and will make this card last many many years. No issues.

Borderlands 3, Destiny 2, and many others have such terrible hitching with the new card that the games are unplayable. No joke if I want to play with my brother in Destiny 2 in a competitive match I have to take out my 6900xt a $1700 gpu and install my gtx1650 $200 gpu and it will run smoother... thats unacceptable If im wrong then help me is the gpu bad? or is it game optimization? Or is it windows? or drivers? Or just return the 6900xt and keep my 1650 or stop whining that nearly a $2,000 gpu made my gaming experience worse in my favorite game, Borderlands 3 and on the loading screen and says sponsored by AMD Radeon.... But if you've gotten this far and all you care about is the numbers then here you go at 1440p I have not seeing it drop below 100 FPS on highest settings in any game i play with most games caping at 165fps (refresh rate of my monitor) but the hitching in alot of games make it feel like 0.5 fps and its so frustrating

Good Performance, Generally Happy

Overall I'm happy with this card. I like the new AMD software and drivers. They have come a long way in the last couple of years. I really like the aesthetics of this card. I like the minimalist lighting and the black colors because it matches my build. One of my complaints are noise levels under full load. It is loud. I haven't played around with undervolting and fan curves. I'm just basing this off the out of the box settings that I think most people use. My biggest complaint is that I went to peal off the plastic covering on the card, and it PEELED PIECES OF THE BLACK PAINT OFF OF THE CARD! Come on XFX! this is bad quality control. I will avoid XFX in the future due to this. I will likely buy another AMD card from another brand.

Halo Infinite is beautiful on Ultra, which I can do now
23 January 2022

I bought this because my old Intel i5 + NVIDIA GTX970 build was starting to stutter on recent titles and the NVIDIA 30 series GPUs are just so much more bloody expensive for extremely similar performance. And also very poor availability. Yeah there's some technical voodoo on the NVIDIA cards, blah blah blah. All the current gen consoles are using AMD so I think that's a moot point. Paired this with a Ryzen 7 5800X processor, 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM, and a WD Blue SSD and results are predictable. Halo Infinite is now cranking 120 FPS at 1440p on Ultra. Very pleased with this purchase. Again, the issues I've had can be attributed to AMD literature and not hardware or even software issues. I would recommend against a mid-tower build such as mine, and definitely don't do a ... MoreI bought this because my old Intel i5 + NVIDIA GTX970 build was starting to stutter on recent titles and the NVIDIA 30 series GPUs are just so much more bloody expensive for extremely similar performance. This card is 3 slots, so it won't even fit in a lot of dedicated ITX cases, and a uATX case may just put your graphics card right up against the bottom of the case. The PSU is on the bottom of my case, a Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3.1, so there is still room for airflow. Point is, if I did this over, I would get a full tower ATX case for this beast to live in. Also in that same vein, make sure you get a case that advertises at LEAST 360mm of GPU clearance. First of all because the support bar will require extra length. And you absolutely should install that or come up with another vertical support solution, like my little block of wood on top of the HDD cage -- heh heh. Second, the case I got advertised 380mm but that's clearly not what we see in the picture. Looks like they were measuring GPU clearance before the installation of front ventilation fans. Some people have complained this card is loud...? I game with headphones so I don't notice. On the other hand I do notice the temperatures which are surprisingly moderate. I haven't seen it run hotter than 80C and more typically its around 68C. Your mileage may vary.

Most likely my first and last XFX product. Would be ZERO out of 5 "eggs" if possible.

After my experience with both cards I received from XFX, I will probably not purchase another product from them. Better quality testing and inspections need to be done before I would ever consider a XFX product again (even then still probably a hard pass from me). The first 3 pictures I will attach are the original card received, the last picture is the RMA/replacement. I didn't even have to take the cards out of there bags to notice this. Now, I understand that there is slightly less damage/bent heatsinks on the replacement card, but any damage is unacceptable to me. I am sure I could easily try to bend the fin back into place....but really, why should I have to? If I am paying a premium for a product, I expect the product to be premium. To add even more salt into the wound, I custom ordered V1Tech backplates for this specific card. I can't return those now, and am out another $100+ because of XFX's lack of production inspections. This also doesn't factor the time that I have to wait for a RMA response, ship the items back, wait for Newegg to inspect them, resend another "new" product out, etc. It's now just getting exhausting as I am now starting to hit week three with these issues. As someone that has been constantly told that XFX products are "top tier", this whole transaction has left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

Powerful, sleek, and runs nice and cool.

This is the most powerful GPU I've ever owned, but take that with a grain of salt considering I've only delved into PC Gaming since early 2020. That being said, my previous card was a 5700XT, and I sold it for an insane amount of money, which is the only reason I have this card now. I'm so happy that I was able to get a 6900XT. Not only that, but I think the Merc 319 Black is the best looking AIB design currently on the market. I didn't want some crazy looking thing, with hard angles and ridiculous design patterns and thickness. This card looks SWEET. It's what I love...slightly understated, tasteful, yet you know it means business.Performance is great. I've got a 2k 144hz monitor and it can run Death Stranding on Ultra settings at 144 FPS all day long.Clock ... MoreThis is the most powerful GPU I've ever owned, but take that with a grain of salt considering I've only delved into PC Gaming since early 2020. I've got an all air-cooled build, and even at 99% utilization and maxed out clock speeds, the junc temp rarely, if ever, gets above 70C.I've had this card for almost a month now, and yes, I still stare at it when I sit down to my build, and think to myself Dude, I can't believe I got a 6900XT.

Radeon/XFX for me never disappoints.

Overall as I've always said Radeon & XFX never disappoint. I went from a 1070Ti to this and night and day in performance & quality. With the market right now yes I didn't want to spend $1500 but, this overall is for sure was worth it. I don't know why so many hatters on Radeon but, I've always been a fan and this has proven why. I've heard complaints about "Oh Radeon Drivers Suck" I have no issues and I absolutely love what they did with their drivers compared to the last the old UI. I've had both cards and coming from 1070Ti I love that card and still do it was amazing. Just was time for a change and to go back to Radeon to see if the hype is real. At the end of the day it's what your a fan of and if your a Nvidia Fan Boy then this isn't going to suit your needs. ... MoreOverall as I've always said Radeon & XFX never disappoint. This is currently in my first intel build 4yrs ago now and still running strong. I've been an AMD fan boy since socket 462 days. I was willing to try intel and I did after all those years. Looking forward to pairing this with AMD Ryzen because I'm going back to AMD not because I disliked my current setup just because Ryzen has proven to be better.
