As title suggests, this is really best thing since slice bread. I was always hesitant to buy one(have trust issues). after reading reviews and good feedback, i mustered some courage and went ahead with sale without knowing that my life was going to be changed forever. When i used it for first time, i was simply amazed with intelligence built in it, felt like it has life in it and has mind of its own. All the sci-fi movies i have seen about robots taking over world were flashing back in my mind and i was thrilled that they could really come true one day if they keep building robots like this. The navigation is excellent, orders of magnitude better than my old LG Roboking. Got under the dog beds, navigated tight spaces through the chairs, never got lost or stuck. Has never missed a spot or failed to return to base. Carpet detection is good, you could hear it kick into turbo when it got on them. Managed the carpets and ramp into our bathroom with no issues. Zoned cleanup via the app is easy and really useful, I regularly clean one half of the house while I'm cooking, then do the other half when I'm finished. The thing I'm most pleased with is the hair - we have three long haired dogs and two long haired humans, we generate immense amounts of hair. Not only does it pick it all up, I have had zero issues with hair wound round the wheels, none at all. ... MoreThe navigation is excellent, orders of magnitude better than my old LG Roboking. I do get some hair round the brush, but much less than with other vacs and its easily removed. The mop - a gimmick for us, no real use at all. Less hassle to just quick do a manual mop. It may be of some use in a small apartment with no carpets.

It is quite easy to set up and links with various weather services. Some of them are quite esoteric to set up and others such as weather underground really easy. The station needs some skill to install since it needs to be stable, level and away from any interference so placement is important. The outdoor sensor unit is a single unit with all of the sensors inbuilt. You may want to spray the outdoor unit with surface spray to stop spiders nesting in the rain gauge. The supercap replaces what would normally be a lithium battery, the advantage being that a supercap will not degrade over time as a lithium battery would. The only servicing required would be to replace the backup batteries and clean spiders et al from the sensors. The spikes on the rain collector are a nice touch but I think it needs some hot melt glue to hold it in place since it has slipped down on mine. The outdoor sensor unit communicates with the base station using wireless (not WiFi) and the base unit connects to your local WiFi network. The base unit uses WiFi to send its data to the various services that you connect it to. There is an app (iOS or Android) which is used to set it up and once set up you can get basic sensor data in the app. Using your weather service of choice you can see current sensor data and history for as long as it has been running. Some of the services also have apps which you can use to see the sensor data. You can also set up your own database to record the sensor data. The quality is fine given that it is not the most expensive station but it is good for the price. There are far more accurate weather stations but again they are a lot more expensive. Overall it is quite easy to set up and quite reliable but will benefit from regular maintenance such as cleaning, reapplying the surface spray and replacing the backup batteries to ensure it remains operational.

After doing heaps of research and comparing reviews on all sorts of robot vacuums, finally bought this and am so impressed! Really intuitive, powerful and easy to setup and use. Connected to mi home app easily (already had the app as we own a couple of mi home cameras). It mapped the house (110 sq. metre house, ~80 sq. metres of floors to clean) in just over an hour and the floors are way cleaner than if I had used the corded / stick vacuums I already own. I have hardwood floors, low-pile rugs and tiles and it cleaned them all thoroughly! We have two long-haired cats and it picked up so much of their fur with ease. The vacuum had a little difficulty navigating a couple of tricky thresholds that have ~2cm lip, but managed to get there in the end. The vacuum had a little difficulty navigating a couple of tricky thresholds that have ~2cm lip, but managed to get there in the end. Just make sure you tidy any cords laying about & any lightweight floor rugs, as it can drag these about. Also make sure to empty the dustbin religiously - its got a smaller dustbin capacity than a stick vacuum, but Ill take a few seconds to empty the dustbin daily rather than having to vacuum for over an hour to clean the whole house. As for noise, it does make noise but it is substantially quieter than my Dyson stick. our cats are terrified of the stick and corded vacuums, but (after some initial trepidation) didnt mind this mi robot vacuum. Theyll just move casually out of its way if its coming towards them. The only thing to keep in mind is if you have any tight spots, it obviously wont be able to vacuum those (the vacuum is ~35cm in diameter). Highly recommend this vacuum!
Performs as expected. We have scheduled this to run in the night - the floor is clean in the morning. Both tile and carpet areas are cleaned well. We used to have a Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 900 prior to this which we returned after a few days of use. Compared to that Xiaomi one is far better in all aspects. Compared to Ozmo 900, Roborock S50 does not get stuck (Ozmo 900 needed lot more intervention), lasts full cleaning cycle (about 40% remaining after a 75-minute run), navigates and vacuums well. It is possible to spot clean using the app. There is virtually no difference in the mobile app interface compared to the Ecovacs app but Mi Home app is far more stable compared to the Ecovacs app which frequently got stuck. I was able to connect that to the Google home - I can start it and stop it but yet to figure out how to send it back to the dock by voice instructions (maybe it is my voice).
In a 2 dog house with tile floors, vacuuming was a regular thing and not much fun. Wife was unhappy. Initially sceptical, I suggested a robot to lower the complaint levels. Internet research pointed to the Xiaomi Mi. All I can say is they were right. Beyond our all our expectations (at this early stage, still new of course), used every couple of days it removes remarkable amounts of dog hair and general dust. It provokes improved tidiness around the house to avoid USB cord tangle and Wife's socks choking the brushes (which is a good thing, the tidiness I mean). Does the job quietly (a bit noisy to use at night in the same room) and without fuss. It provokes laughter and squeals of delight from small children, and the dogs ignore it. Unsure of filter durability at this stage (new).
After looking at many robot vacuum cleaners and trying them out, the Xiaomi (2nd generation) was the best for cleaning, mopping and best of all, value for money. I run it twice a week (Mondays & Thursdays) and our floor has never looked better. We have polished floor boards with NO rugs. I simply open every door in our apartment and run it. It takes around 55 minutes for our two bedroom apartment. It has laser scanners that scan the environment. It vacuums "around" chair legs and table legs. and under the bed has never been cleaner! It's amazing. Very easy to empty the bin, and it has "Stair" sensors so it will never fall down our stairs. It simply detects the "missing" floor from it's sensor underneath and backs away. I can't comment on how it performs on carpet or rugs as we don't have any, but for hard floors, it's brilliant. It will NOT vacuum behind the door (for obvious reasons) so that is the only area I vacuum by hand. (I just use a dust buster actually) I run the robot from my iPhone using the Xiaomi app. Very easy to use. You can even schedule it to run automatically and it keeps a log of everything. I've named mine "R2D2" and myself as the owner "Skywalker" lol.Very easy to clean the rollers and auto charges very easily. (It ALWAYS finds the charging dock) Other robotvacuums have chimes and musical sounds, this one talks in a female voice and sounds like Star Trek's computer. ("starting the clean", "finished cleaning", "charging", etc. The noise level is pretty good and you can change the "power" of cleaning from normal to "turbo" for super cleans. My Brother-In-law has the the iRoomba, my niece has the LG, a friend has the Samsung powerbot, and another friend has Aldi's Ecovacs Deebot. All of these robots do a good job, but my friends and family all agree the Xiaomi is by far the best! LG is far too expensive and the iRoomba is very loud (and double the price) - You won't be sorry with this robot. Just check out the other reviews on line and the demos on You Tube. Do yourself a favour...

This Robo-Vac has a few gimmicks, frustratingly has a mind of its own, but is pretty good in operation and easy to use. The amount dust it collects is equivalent to our Vax wand-vacuum. Electric cables, loose rugs, some types of furniture [especially fan-plinths] trap & defeat it completely, extremely confined spaces ditto, but overall it does a pretty good job as an auxiliary vacuum cleaner that you can "set and forget". Carpet operation on non-pile type is good. We have not used the mopping feature yet, but it looks easy to set up. The 'back to base charger' function does not always work if some distance away. Still haven't worked out the hand-controller's full functions (no AAA batteries provided), nor the remote functions regarding mapping/barriers etc. We all ... MoreThis Robo-Vac has a few gimmicks, frustratingly has a mind of its own, but is pretty good in operation and easy to use. I'm very impressed with this. It is a big step-up from my older LG RoboKing (the early round one with the upwards camera). The RoboKing was good for its time, but the Xiaomi shows how much the technology has improved. The RoboKing seems positively clumsy by-comparison! The only flaw is that it has issues detecting low/normal skirting boards because they are lower than the sensor. It doesn't hit them much but does gently bump its way along them (the pressure plate picks it up fairly quickly). It really should have a side sensor that detects that. The way it maps the room with the laser-scanner is incredible. It's amazing to watch on the app to see how the room is mapped. The way it maps the room with the laser-scanner is incredible. It's amazing to watch on the app to see how the room is mapped. It allows the device to move with great precision, easily following the lines of walls and avoiding obstacles. It also means that, due to the device having mapped each room, it can easily resume from where it left-off mid-clean if you had to stop it, and it also moves with precision directly back to the base-station when complete, with no clumsy sensor guess-work. It's very clever. The pressure-plate across the whole front of the unit make it handle collisions incredible well, with only a delicate press against any object, which is also great for gaps that aren't quite tall enough. It barely has to teach it, and with no force, to detect that it cannot procced further. Setup was quite simple once I downloaded the English instructions. They're far from a perfect translation, but good enough to get started. Once you have the app and device switched to English you don't need the manual really. The in-app videos about the device are craftily produced such that there is no need for language. It also seems to better-isolate hair that gets wrapped around the spinning brush, so that it only wraps at certain points below the guards, where it doesn't interfere with its operation, and making it easier to remove (with the included comb-blade if necessary). Apart from slight awkwardness of the device clearly being originally Chinese, and a wish for it to be integrated into IFTTT and other apps, I can't really fault it. I'm certainly very happy with my purchase. I've only used it for a day, so can't speak to its reliability, but I hope it lasts for some time as I really am very impressed with it.
