Be aware of the limitations of this DC DC charger before you buy it. It is IP 65 so has a lower waterproof rating than most DC DC chargers on the market. It is not suitable for under the bonnet installation and also there is no temperature sensor for the battery so need to be sure that your battery is well cooled if you are using it.

Being 40 amp it makes good use of available solar and really pumps a charge into the battery when driving. Highly recommend.

The frame of this unit has mounting points. What can you do with half a hole?? Also the power leads are too short an extra 200mm would be great.
Super simple install. Great for a modular dual battery system. Doesn’t get too hot, but definitely should be installed somewhere with decent airflow.
Robust construction and easy to install. I have a secondary battery in the back of my D-Max which is charged from a heavy cable with the DC-DC charger mounted on a plate on top of the battery box. The secondary battery also supplies 12 volts to a 5th wheeler when I tow it. It all just works.
Charger works well, I installed this in the tool section of my Y62 patrol near the jack in order to switch between an Anderson for a caravan and/or my auxillary 12V set-up in my boot. Works well and fits easily. I took my 'ignition feed' from my factory 12V outlet in the boot which is switched when the car is running or accessories are on.
Good solid product for a great price. Works perfectly. Mounting holes could be a little wide but suited my need.
So far so good.Easy install and is putting heaps of power into my 100 ah lithium battery that is in a Arkpak battery box.Mounting points are a pretty crappy design, but I made it work.Would be better if the plugs were a little longer, but overall it is working very well.
Charging at only 19a, very poor attachment points very difficult to access and mount DCDC. Product was returned

The XTM 40A DC-DC 2.0 Battery Charger is the perfect solution for keeping your second battery charged while you're in the great outdoors. It features a 40A capacity and can be used to charge your battery by both DC and solar inputs. This DC-DC charger is compatible with Lead-acid, AGM, Gel, Calcium and LiON (LiFeP04) batteries and features 6 charging steps for optimal charging and to protect your battery.The 6 stages are; Qualification: The charger will test the battery for faults.
